Daily Survival Kit.

Post 207 - - - - - Thursday, 17th May, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ Nice to be back with you after a few days with no
computer. Now I have two, and am using the old one. The new
computer is lovely, but oh the problems. First it was not compatible
with the old modem. So, we got a new modem, but that wasn't any
good either. So hopefully tomorrow, I will have the technician here
with another new modem -- and that this one will work. So that
explains my absence, so I will try to catch up as I can.

I hope you are all doing well as we head for another weekend; time
flies when you are having fun, and also when you are not !!
Thank you for those who have commented on my post, "The writing
on the wall." I thought it was such a nice story, with a message for
all of us, not to jump to conclusions. Check it out, before we yell !!

Tonight I have a "Daily Survival Kit" that you may like - or not -

Daily Survival Kit. Items needed:

1. Toothpick
2. Rubber Band
3. Band Aid
4. Pencil
5. Eraser
6. Chewing Gum
7. Mint
8. Candy Kiss
9. Tea Bag

Why ???

1. TOOTHPICK - to remind you to pick out the good qualities in
others. - Matt. 7:1
2. RUBBER BAND - to remind you to be flexible; things might not
always go the way you want, but it will work out.- Romans 8:28
3. BAND AID - to remind you to heal hurt feelings, yours and other
peoples. - Col. 3: 12-14
4. PENCIL - to remind you to list your daily blessings. - Eph. 1:3
5. ERASER - To remind you that everyone makes mistakes, and it's
OK. - Gen.50:15-21
6. CHEWING GUM - to remind you to stick with it and you can
accomplish anything. -Phil 4:13
7. MINT - to remind you that you are worth a mint ! - John 3:16-17
8. CANDY KISS - to remind you that everyone needs a kiss or a hug
every day. - 1 John 4:7
9. TEA BAG - to remind you to relax daily and go over that list of
blessings. - 1 Thess 5:18

Friends are a very rare jewel indeed. They make you smile and
encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, share a word of praise
and they always open their hearts to us.

What's so great about hugs ??

There's no such thing as a bad hug - only good ones and great ones.
They're not fattening and they don't cause cancer or cavities. They're
all natural - with no preservatives, artificial ingredients, or pesticide
residue.

They're cholesterol-free, naturally sweet, 100 per cent wholesome,
and they're a completely renewable natural resource. They don't
require batteries, tune-ups, or x-rays. They're non-taxable, fully
returnable and energy efficient.

They're safe in all kinds of weather, in fact, they're especially good
for cold or rainy days. They're exceptionally effective in treating
problems like bad dreams or the Monday blues.

Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today !!

HAVING A BAD DAY ??

There was a case in one hospital's Intensive Care ward where
patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at
about 11 A.M. regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled
the doctors and some even thought that it had something to do
with the supernatural. No one could solve the mystery as to why
the deaths occurred around 11 A.M on Sundays.

So a Worldwide team of experts was assembled to investigate the
cause of the incidents. The next Sunday morning, a few minutes
before eleven, all the doctors and nurses nervously wait outside
the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was
all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books and
other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits.

Just when the clock struck 11:00 . . . Pookie Johnson, the part-
time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life-
support system so that he could used the vacuum cleaner.

Still having a bad day ?

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez
oil spill in Alaska was $80,000. At a special ceremony, two of the
most expensively saved animals were being released back into the
wild amid cheers and applause from the onlookers. A minute later,
in full view, a killer whale ate them both.
<><><>
Still think you are having a bad day ?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking
frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some wire running
from his waist, towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him
away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy
plank of wood, breaking his arm in two places. Up until that
moment, he had been happily listening to his Sony Walkman.
<><><>
STILL think you are having a bad day ?

Two animal rights protesters were protesting the cruelty of
sending pigs to a slaughter-house in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly,
all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken
fence, stampeding madly. The two protesters were trampled to
death.
<><><>
What ? STILL having a bad day ?

Iraqi terrorist, Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a
letter bomb. It came back with "return to sender" stamped on it.
Forgetting it was the bome, he opened it and was blown to bits.

There now, feeling better ?
<><><>
This next one was sent to me by my friend Robyn. It is called
"Love Story." Thanks Robyn.

I will seek and find you

I shall take you to bed and have my way with you.

I will make you ache, shake and sweat until you moan and groan.

I will make you beg for mercy, beg for me to stop.

I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when
I'm finished with you.

And, when I'm finished, you will be weak for days.

All my love,

The Flu.

Now get your mind out of the gutter and go get your flu shot !
<><><>

Bye for now, my friends, Love and best wishes to you all, Take
care of each other and enjoy your lives. Cheers, Merle.

Hope your computer woes will soon be over. The one about the hugs was very meaningful to me since we are a family of huggers. Our church family also hugs, normally the brothers hug the brothers and vice versa. Hugs are good! ec
