Hi Everyone ~~ I hope you are all enjoying your lives and things
are going well for you. All is well here, even got some washing
dry or nearly, and it is airing in the lounge with me in front of the
gas heater. At least we didn't get the snow here that a few places
have. It felt cold enough for it, though.
Tonight I have an item called "What do Angels Look Like?"
I hope that you enjoy it.
What do Angels Look Like ?
Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the
world, when you smile.
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible, if
only you believe.
Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you
had lost your way.
Like the friend who touched your heart, when you didn't think
you had one to touch.
Angels come in all shapes and sizes, all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples, some with wrinkles and
some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies, teachers, students,
lovers and fools.
They don't take life too seriously, they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address, they ask nothing in return.
They wear sneakers with gossamer wings, they get a great deal on
dry cleaning.
They are hard to find with your eyes closed.
But they are everywhere you look, when you choose to see.

A few of my flowers - - - -
Some colorful Nasturtiums growing in a tub.
Some in a pretty little vase that my daughter, Kathy gave me years ago.
A lovely camellia -- in same vase !!
One of my Rhododendrons.
Some freesias - I love the perfume from these.
Now for some jokes - - - -
Bat solution.
Three pastors got together for lunch one day and found all their churches
had bat-infestation problems. . . .
"I got so mad," said one, "I took a shotgun and fired at them. It made
holes in the ceiling, but did nothing to the bats."
"I tried trapping them alive," said the second. "Then I drove 50 miles
before releasing them, but they returned."
"I haven't had any more problems," said the third.
"What did you do ?" asked the others, amazed.
" I simply baptized and confirmed them," he replied. "I haven't
seen them since."

What do UFOs and smart blondes have in common ?
You keep hearing about them, but never see any.
What is it called when a blonde blows in another blonde's ear?

Man : I took my dog to the vet because he bit my wife.
Friend : Did you have it put down ?
Man : No, of course not. I had his teeth sharpened.
The two fleas were leaving the theatre when the male flea turned
to the female flea and said, " Shall we walk or take a dog?
Doctor : "Miss Smith, you have acute appendicitis."
Miss Smith : "I came here to be examined, not admired !!"

When Cyril visited the house of his least favourite nephew he was
forced to endure the latter's not very good piano playing.
After he had finished his performance the nephew asked : "How
was that ?"
"You shoud be on TV," replied Cyril.
"You mean I am that good ? said the delighted nephew?"
"No. But if you were on TV at least I could turn you off.

A middle aged woman was on her way to the shops when she saw
a small boy leaning up against the wall, smoking a cigar and swigging
a bottle of whisky. The woman was appalled at this and rushed over
to the bow and demanded: "Why aren't you at school at this time of day?"
"At school?" queried the boy, taking another swig at the bottle. "Hell, lady,
I'm only four years old !!"
<><>
Policeman : "I'm sorry sir, but you have to accompany me to the station."
Simon : "But why ?"
Policeman: "Because it's a dark gloomy night and I'm frightened to go
there"on my own."

And a few quotes - - - -
Only good girls keep diaries, bad girls don't have time.

The song is ended but the memory lingers on. - - Irving Berlin.
Every great mistake has a halfway moment, a split second when it
can be recalled and perhaps remedied. - - - Pearl Buck.

We have no time to stand and stare.- - -W. H. Davies.
Bye for now my friends, enjoy the end of the week and take great care.

Hi Merle!
Great post! My washing is all done and it's a great feeling!
We're in the middle of summer here and it's strange for me to imagine snow on the ground ... but we'll have plenty of our own in a few months.
Have a great weekend!

Loved the teeth sharpening/dog joke above! Very fun post!
Ms. Merle another great one---I especially loved the part about the angels---we never know where we will encounter one---even by blogging---you my friend are an angel.
Do you remember how I got rid of the bats in our garden, Merle? A couple of times every evening I'd go out to the tree where they were roosting and shine a torch at them AND use my Carlton clapper. They have not returned this season. Now if only I could use my Carlton clapper for what it was intended...
Hello my friend:-) I so loved seeing pictures of your flowers...do your flowers bloom all through your winter season over there? I wish ours did but of course with all the snow and cold we get, it's not possible. It only went up to 16c here today and felt like a Fall day, not the middle of July! By next week, though, it's supposed to be +30c. Such strange weather patterns!! Loved the "What do angels look like"...we live right amongst angels and don't even realize it! So enjoyed all your jokes and quotes as well...yes, even the blonde ones! LOL Take care dear Merle! xoxo
Your flowers are lovely, Merle...help put a smile on one's face. :)
I can't imagine it being cold anywhere right now....it's been pretty hot lately...and humid. We're due to cool down a little.
I love your flowers Merle. There are some I don't know...but just beautiful. Good to hear everything is going well my dear friend....
Most of all I hope you're feeling really good...that's what matters most....take care sweetie....
These are wonderful stories. Your flowers are doing well, the outside one isn't blooming now in the winter, is it?
I hope it's ok with you, I'll send the flea story to my granddaughter. It was better than your excellent blonde jokes.
..

God bless...
That angel post is good...and so true!
Enjoyed the flea joke. It reminds of when I was working in a legal office, one of the lawyers there was fond of quoting: "Dogs have fleas upon their back that worry them and bite 'em. Those fleas have smaller fleas ad infinitum!" One of those useless things you never forget.
Have a good weekend and keep close to that gas heater of yours.
Hugs xoxo
Dearest Merle
I love the flowers in your home =)

Have a very blessed weekend.
