Be Your Age.

Here we are again Folks to find something that may be of
some interest to you. Great day here again today, nice and
sunny and warm and the evenings are getting longer. It
used to be dark at about 5.30, and now it is about 6.30.
This weather would be delightful all year round for my
liking, with plenty of rain – at night !!

I have chosen a small item called “Be Your Age.”

Don’t try to keep up with the young folk,
That’s the last thing they want you to do
They know their world and the things they like,
And they’re prepared to make mistakes too,
But though they may think you are out of date
They feel you know false things from true,
And that deep in those mellowed years of yours,
You don’t find much that is new
And though they don’t want you in their set
They feel that your judgements are just,
So don’t try to keep up with the young folk,
Just be someone to COME TO AND TRUST.

And a joke - - -

Ain't it the Truth!!!

A woman goes to the doctor for her yearly physical.
The nurse starts with certain basic items.
"How much do you weigh?" she asks.
"55," she says.
The nurse puts her on the scale.
It turns out her weight is 63.

The nurse asks, "Your height?"
"5 foot 8," she says.
The nurse checks and sees that she only measures 5' 5".

She then takes her blood pressure
And tells the woman it is very high.
"Of course it's high!" she screams,
"When I came in here I was tall and slender!
Now I'm short and fat!"

One from the paper - -
A woman gets on a bus with her baby.
The bus driver says: “That’s the ugliest baby that
I’ve ever seen.” The woman goes to the back of the bus
and sits down, fuming,

She said to the man next to her: “The driver just insulted me!”
The man says: “You go right up there and tell him off.
Go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”

And some quotes from my Pocket Positives book
More things are wrought by prayer than this
world dreams of. – Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

<><><><>

Teach me to feel another’s woe,
To hide the fault I see,
That mercy I to others show,
That mercy show to me.

<><><><>

Oh Lord, help me
To be calm when things go wrong,
To persevere when things are difficult,
To be helpful to those in need,
And to be sympathetic to those whose hearts are heavy.

Problems.
First ask yurself, is this my problem? If it isn’t, leave
it alone. If it is my problem, can I tackle it now? Do so.
If your problem could be settled by an expert in some
field, go quickly to him and take his advice.

Bye for now, Take care my friends, Cheers, Merle.

I like the mercy quote, Merle. I still wish you would tell of your life and childhood in AU.

That must be my problem too Merle, I think I live in a bit of a disillusioned state of mind, everything is nice, and then, the mirror startles me back to reality! woo is me! Lol

Hi Merle
This is so true.
We need to be someone for the youths to come to and trust.
Take care, my friend =)

Hi Merle, thanks for Clancy, it's a good poem, maybe too much explanation needed to post it though.

Oops, the first comment didn't past because I forgot to put in my name and password.

As for act my age, what if I don't feel my age??? Oh well, my grandchildren think I'm ok, even the teenage ones lol.

Great post - as usual.

Love and hugs, my friend.
