Thank you, dear friends.

Hi Everyone ~~ I still cannot post properly, so thought I would try directly into blogger. Who
knows if this will work? Anyway I hope you are all doing well, and surviving the weather,
whether it be too hot or too cold. It has been hot here, although last night we actually got a good
shower of rain, only about 8 mms, about a third of an inch. Better than none. I pegged out some
washing this morning, hoping it would rain again, but washing is in and no more for now.

Thank you to those who have sent sympathy messages on the loss of Sandra. And Raggedy,
thank you so much for the card. That was so nice of you. Truly our cool Ragged One !! Thanks.
I think I may be able to go to the funeral after all, as my other son, from Melbourne is trying to
organise to come and get me and take me. I haven't mentioned it to the rellies, just in case.
I really appreciate your efforts Geoff. I sure got lucky with my kids.

To others who have lost loved ones, I offer this quote -- "Don't weep that she has gone, but be
glad that she was here." The three cousins we have lost have all been younger than me. Scary !!

And another one, I have on a card, but Raggedy
posted recently for her friend Orville.

Death is Nothing at all.

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room.

I am I, and you are you, Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used.

Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at little jokes we enjoyed together.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow in it.

Life means all that it ever meant, It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken community,
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.

All is well.

Well I will endeavor to post this now. Hope to be back soon with jokes etc. Cheers, Merle.

Hi Merle,
Glad you'll get the chance to go to the funeral. I mentioned that verse as the one that was at one of the funerals I attended last Thur. Beautiful message.
Hugs!

Merle, I too am glad you will be able to go to the funeral.
You will meet again with friends and reminisce. About your cousin just departed and about a lot of good times you all have had before.
And we sure can wait for the jokes, well maybe we can.
Best wishes and thanks for that poem.

Hi Merle, just proves, where there's a will there's a way, or is that a relative? glad you got a post up and that you may still get to Sandra's funeral.

Merle, we have both lost family members this week. My cousin died, and I will not be able to attend his funeral (I have not seen him in about 35 years), and that makes me sad. I am glad you might get to go to yours.

I was here the other day perusing your blog and enjoying your jokes and all....and when I was in the middle of leaving you a comment about your loss of a cousin---the electric went out and I didn't have the history of where I was visiting once I got a chance to get back online....But I found you again, and I have added your blog's link to my friends list so if that happens again, I won't be at a loss!!

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of a loved one, but by the sounds of it you may have the opportunity to say goodbye. How wonderful!!

And, I do want to leave a note on how wonderful your blog is...it's so friendly and fun to be with you and enjoy your take on life!!!

Thanks for the visit.

Hiya Merle...I'm still having problems posting in my own blog, too...I can get into it using Internet Explorer but using Firefox I can't which is really bugging me! I prefer Firefox and use it all the time...I have no idea what is going on (or not going on!). It's a pain in the proverbial!

Dearest Merle...I'm so glad that you may be able to attend the funeral after all! Hopefully it all works out for you! Sometimes it's so important to be there for the family but if you can't then I'm sure they'll understand. Loved the verse you posted, that is indeed very comforting to those of us who have lost loved ones. Hopefully you will get more rain soon...still no snow here at the moment, feels more like April than January!! Much love xoxo

Oh Merle, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I hope you are doing OK, and the heat is not too much ... we were at Bonnie Doon, and it was stifling. Thank goodness for the cool change overnight !!
Take care, dear friend, and hope Blogger behaves itself for you. I posted my post (with lots of pictures) directly through Blogger dashboard, and it went OK ... hope it works for you.
Bye for now, Meow xx
