Saint Theresa's Prayer.

Post 186 - - - - - - Tuesday, 17th April, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ Thank you so much for your welcome back to the fold.
It is nice to be back with all my blogging friends. I didn't get much reading
done today as I had my fortnightly shopping trip to replenish the cupboards,
fridge and freezer. Good feeling to have lots of food, but now I will have to
start doing some cooking. The holiday was great !!

Tonight I have a short prayer sent to me by my eldest daughter, Julie, who
lives in Queensland. I am so proud of all my kids, but the words about the
"people who have touched my life" got to me. I was so very lucky with all
the kids who joined our family and I love them all dearly.

A lovely prayer you may wish to share . . . .

I am selecting people who have touched my life and who I think would like
to receive this.

In case anyone is not aware, Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the
Little Ways, meaning she believed in doing little things in life well and
with great love. She is also known as the patron saint of flower growers
and florists. She is represented by roses.

May everyone who reads this message be blessed. Theresa's prayer
cannot be deleted. Make a wish before you read the prayer.

Saint Theresa's prayer :

May there be peace within you today.

May you trust that you are exacty where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use God's gifts that you have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of the universe.

Let this energy settle into your being and allow your soul the freedom
to sing, dance, celebrate, create and love. It is there, within, for each
and every one of us.

First joke tonight was sent by a friend of about 40 years. Thanks Vicki.

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench
rings and a man engages the hands free speaker function and begins to talk.
Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

Man : Hello
Woman : Honey, it's me. Are you in the club ?
Man : Yes.
Woman : I am at the mall and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only
$1,000. Is it OK if I buy it ?
Man : Sure, go ahead if you like it that much.

Woman : I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2007
models. I saw one I really liked.
Man : How much ?
Woman : $200,000.
Man : OK, but for that price I want it with all the options.

Woman : Great ! Oh, and one more thing . . . the house I wanted last year
is back on the market. They're asking $2,950,000.
Man : Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $2,800,000. They
will probably take it. If not, we can go the extra $150,000 if it's
really a pretty good price.

Woman : OK. I'll see you later. I love you so much !
Man : Bye. I love you too.

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him
in astonishment, mouths agape.

He turns and asks : Anyone know who this phone belongs to ?

Some "Because I'm a Man" jokes - - - -

Because I'm a man, when I lock my keys in the car I will fiddle with
a wire long after hypothermia has set in. The AAA is not an option.
I will win.

Because I'm a man, I must hold the television remote control in my
hand while I watch TV. If the thing has een misplaced, I may miss a
whole show looking for it. (though one time I was able to survive by
holding a calculator)..... applies to emgineers mostly.

Because I'm a man, when the car isn't running well, I will pop the hood
and stare at the engine as if I know what I'm looking at. If another man
shows up, one of us will say to the other, "I used to be able to fix these
things, but now with computers and everything, I wouldm't know where
to start." We will then drink beer.

Because I'm a man, when I catch cold, I need someone to bring me soup
and take care of me while I lie in bed and moan. You're a woman. You
never get as sick as I do, so for you this isn't a problem.

Because I'm a man, when one of our appliances stops working, I will insist
on taking it apart, despite evidence that this will cost me twice as much, once
the repair man gets here and has to put it all back together.

Because I'm a man, there is no need to ask me what I'm thinking about.
The answer is always either food, sex, cars, or motorcycles. I have to make
up something else when you ask, so don't ask.

Because I'm a man, I do not want to visit your mother, or have her come
visit us, or talk to her when she calls, or think about her any more than I
have to. Whatever you got her for Mother's Day is okay; I do not need to
see it. And don't forget to pick up something for my mother too.

Because I'm a man, you don't have to ask me if I liked the movie. Chances
are if you're crying at the end of it, I didn't . . . and if you're feeling amorous
afterwards . . . then I will certainly remember the name and recommend it
to others.

Because I'm a man, I will share equally in the housework. You just do the
laundry, the cookig, the cleaning, the vacuuming, and the dishes, and I will
do the rest . . . . like wandering around in the garden with a beer wondering
what to do.

Ladies' turn tomorrow !! One from Warren . Thanks Warren.

A blonde keeps having a recurring nightmare, so she goes to a
psychologist to figure out what it means.

"So, tell me about your dream," says the doctor.
"Well, Doctor, I'm running down a hall, and a vampire keeps chasing me,
but when I get to the end of the hall, the door is always locked !
I keep pushing and pushing, but it never opens !"

The doctor ponders a moment, then replies, "Can you remember
anything else ?"
"Hmm . . . yes, yes, there is one more thing. On the door, there are always
the same mysterious letters. Umm . . .P...U...L... oh yeah and L !"

I'm so glad you had such a good time on your trip Merle. I had to do the same stuff when I got back...shop, get caught up. Why do I have the feeling you're much better at cooking yourself meals than I am? I'm so lazy about it anymore. It's so easy to just grab something simple for just me. Hope you're feeling good my sweet friend...thinking of you with love....

Hi Merle,

I can relate to the remote part of the man joke, when my husband and got out first tv with a remote my husband would keep it tightly clinched in his hand. And some time I would find it in the oddest places like in the bathroom or in our bedroom and we don't have a tv in either of those places. The oddest place was the refregerator, then there was that time at K-mart when he pulled it out of his pocket and he gave me the strangest look, I told him "Hey don't look at me I'm not the one that put it there!"

Great to have you back, Merle. Glad you had a lovely time but as you said, it's always nice to come back to one's own home and bed again. :)

It can be tiring with people all the time, even though it's nice...but you seem to be forever talking or feeling that you should! And forever washing and drying up and then it's ready to eat again! lol ;) There's no place like home!
