ABC s of Praise.

Post 243 - - - - - Friday, 29th June, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ Thank you so much for your kind comments
about the enjoyable time I had with my grandchildren. They
are all grown up , but very thoughtful kids. They are safely
home and rang to let me know that. Now I am waiting for
Geoff and Jo to arrive, and am looking forward to their visit also.

There was a shooting on a Melbourne street last week, and
Geoff had just dropped Joanne off for work about 10 minutes
before the shooting. So Jo got an awful shock and could see
the body of the very brave man who tried to assist a woman
and was shot dead, as was she, and a Dutch backpacker who
also stepped in to help. Brave men still do exist, thankfully.
The woman and the Dutchman are getting well.

Tonight, I have an ABC of Praise, so will get on with it now.

A - Although things are not perfect
B - Because of trial and pain
C - Continue in thanksgiving
D - Do not begin to blame
E - Even when the times are hard
F - Fierce winds are bound to blow
G - God is forever able
H - Hold on to what you know
I - Imagine life without His love
J - Joy would cease to be
K - Keep thanking Him for all the things
L - Love imparts to thee
M - Move out of "Camp Complaining"
N - No weapon that is known
O - On Earth can yield the power
P - Praise can do alone
Q - Quit looking at the future
R - Redeem the time at hand
S - Start every day with worship
T - To "thank" is a command
U - Until we see Him coming
V - Victorious in the sky
W - We'll run the race with gratitude
X - eXalting God most high
Y - Yes, there will be good times and yes some will be bad, but. . . .
Z - Zion waits in glory . . . where none are ever sad !

The couple had reached an age where the wife thought it was
time to start considering wills and funeral arrangements,
rather than be caught unprepared. Her husband however was
not too interested in the topic.

"Would you rather be buried or cremated?" she asked him.
There was a pause, then he replied from behind his paper,
"Surprise me."
<><>

An excited woman called her husband at work. "I won the
lottery !" she exclaimed. "Pack your clothes."

"Great," he replied, "Summer or Winter ?"

"All of them ---I want you out of the house by six !!"
<><>

"Movie cowboys mystify me," says Bob Hope. "How can
they jump off a porch roof and onto a horse, and still
sing in a normal voice?"
<><>

A fisherman sitting on the riverbank watched a beautiful
girl undressing in order to take a swim. As she was about
to dive in, he shouted, " Swimming is prohibited in this
part of the river."

"Why didn't you tell me before I took my clothes off?"
she complained. "But undressing is not prohibited," he
replied.

Just a couple of quotes - - -

As a cure for worrying, work is better than whisky.-
- - - Thomas A. Edison.

Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing
something else. - - - Kahlil Gibran.

The busier you are, the more you find time to do - - - and
vice versa. Anonymous.

I will leave it there as my visitors must be getting close.
Take care my friends and have a wonderful weekend that
is almost here. Love and Best Wishes to you all, Merle.
