Anyway.

Post 236 - - - - - Thursday, 21st June, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope this finds you all well and happy. I am
happy but have developed a cold, so not feeling the brightest.
So this will definitely be a short post. It is the Winter solstice
and tonight will be the longest night of the year, for which I am
very grateful.

First an item called " Anyway." Hope you enjoy it.

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centred;
Forgive them and love them anyway.

If you are kind, people accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true
enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, they may cheat you;
Be forthright anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous and
scornful;
Be joyous anyway.

The good you do today, they will forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it will never be enough;
Give the world your best anyway.

For one's own sense of well being, their criticism would be best
to fall on deaf ears. When it's all said and done, we will only
have to explain ourselves to God as will they. Anonymous.

My dear friend Robyn sent me a joke today, very timely, Thanks.

Two very elderly friends, Max and Wally, met in the park every
day to feed the pigeons, watch the squirrels, and discuss world
problems. One day Wally didn't show up. Max didn't think much
about it, figured maybe he had a cold or some such.

But after Wally hadn't shown up for a week or so, Max really got
worried. However, the only time that they ever got together was
at the park, and Max couldn't remember where Wally lived, so
he was unable to find out what had happened to him.

A month passed and Max figured old Wally had gone to his
heavenly reward, but one day Max approached the park, and lo
and behold, there was Wally !!

Max was very excited and happy to see him and told him so. Then
he said, "For crying out loud Wally, what happened to you ??"

Wally replied, " I've been in jail."

"Jail ?? cried Max. "What in the world for ??"

"Well," said Wally, "You know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress
at the coffee shop where we sometimes get coffee ?"

"Yeah, " said Max, " I remember her. What about her ?"

"Well one day last month she got mad at me and to get even, she
charged me with rape. I was so proud of what everyone would
think an old guy like me could still do, that when I got to court,
I pled 'Guilty.'

The judge took one look at me and gave me 30 days for perjury."
<><><> Good one Robyn.

Just a few quotes - - - - -

You pray in your distress and in your need, would that you might
also pray in the fullness of your joy and your days of abundance.

If you fell down yesterday, stand up today. - -H. G. Wells.

If there be righteousness in the heart, there will be
beauty in the character.
If there be beauty in the sharacter,, there will be
harmony in the home,
If there be harmony in the home, there will be order
in the nation.
If there be order in the nation, there will be peace in
the world. - - - - Confucius.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising
every time we fall. - - - - Confucius.

Bye for now Folks. Stay well and happy and be kind
to each other. Love and Best wishes to all, Merle.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Merle. There's a pretty bad "wog" going around the mountain at the moment. Touch wood, it's not visited me yet...and I hope it doesn't. I won't open the door if I hear it knocking! :)
