Bec, Photos and Jokes.

Post 253 - - - - Monday, 9th July, 2007.

Hi My Friends, ~~ I hope all is well with you and your loved ones.
It has been a lovely day here today - 15 C and nice and sunny AND
Bec arrived in a nice Hyundi Hire Car after flying from Brisbane.

It is lovely to see her and have her here for a week, already she has
given me a few more computer clues. ie If I lose something, like
a photo, I can restore it with crtl and Z. It works too.. She has gone
off to bed early as she has had a long day.

John came after work to see her and then came later for dinner, so
we all enjoyed roast lamb dinners. I have to go shopping tomorrow
so that gives Bec a chance for a good sleep-in, while I stock up.
After that she has friends to visit and will go to her Dads to see the
little dogs. She used to live there and loves the dogs.

And like me, John has to get her to check out his computer as she is
very good with them. We are still on school holidays in Victoria, so
she will go to see kids she used to baby-sit. And probably will take
them to see the new Harry Potter movie. She likes them and the
books as well and has them all. Few more photos - - - -

No need to tell most of you that this is my brother Peter and me 2 years ago.

This is John's boat and he made the trailer for it. He takes it in the rivers near here.

This is Peter and a cousin Danny going for a ride in a buggy. At one stage they
thought the horse was going to throw them out as it bolted, so they baled out
and the horse and buggy beat them home to our farm in Benalla. Both about 12.

Me at Benalla about 14 years. A bit blurry,
I look better a bit blurry !!

Peter with our dogs at Benalla, about 12 years.

Just a few short jokes and then I have to compile my shopping list and get to bed.

A jungle witch doctor was called to treat a man with a high fever. He made a
medicine with the eye of a toad, the liver of a snake, the heart of a rat, six black
beetles and half a cockroach, all mixed together with slime from the local river.

The next day he went to see his patient and found him no better. "Oh dear," the
the witch doctor said. "Maybe you had better try a couple of aspirin."

After giving a woman a full medical examination, the doctor explained his
prescription as he wrote it out. "Take the green pill with a glass of water when you
get up. Take the blue pill with a glass of water after lunch. Then just before going
to bed, take the red pill with another glass of water."

"Exactly, what is my problem, Doctor ?" the woman asked.
"You're not drinking enough water."

Ned took a job working alone in Canada's far frozen north. "Here's your emergency
kit," said the boss. "It contains a box of flares, a radio and a deck of cards.

"What are the cards for?" Ned asked.

"In case the flares don't work and the radio freezes up." replied the boss. "Just
take out the cards and play solitaire. In about 10 seconds someone will tap you
on the shoulder and say, 'Put the red 9 on the black 10.' "

A man was applying for a job as a prison guard. The warden said, " Now these
guys are really tough in here. Do you think you can handle it ?"

"No problem," said the applicant . If they don't behave, out they go !!"

When he found a six year old shoe repair ticket in the pocket of an old
suit, Brown called the shop to see if the shoes were still around.
"Were they black wingtips needing half soles ?"
"Yes," said Brown.
"We'll have them ready in a week."

Bye for now Everyone. Take care and have great week.
Love and Best wishes to you all. Cheerio, Merle.

You and Peter two years ago: you're both STILL cute!

You looked quite the young lady at 14, Merle.

Control + Z - I'll have to try that one. So it works in Blogger? And what Picasa tips did Ann give you? I use Picasa for my photos and can always use more tips.

Again great pictures. It is so nice to have young ones around to help us with our computer problems.
Puppy had to get my mouse to work this afternoon for me.
Have a wonderful visit.

Another great lot of pics from your album, Merle. :)

I'm just catching up on blogs...and have read your previous ones that I've missed out on these past couple of days. I've been busy, doing I'm not sure what, but time just disappeared on me and I'm lagging behind.

It's still very chilly up this way. We certainly are having winter this year. :)

Take good care.

Good pictures, Merle.
And that Rebecca sounds nice to have around. Don't you just love the techie oriented people in your family.
Billy and Tim help me quite a bit.
Think I'll take my toad's eye and snake liver and a glass of water and go to bed. I already took the aspirin, I have 2 grams of Niaspan to go.

Glad Bec was able to help you out, Merle (actually that restore thing helped me out, too, heheh).

Good photos, especially the one of you in your younger days. Not too bad of Peter, either, he hasn't aged much in two years...

Hugs xoxo
