I Am a Christian.

Post 247 - - - - - Tuesday, 3rd July, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ Today my lady came to clean the house for
me and we put fresh sheets on my bed, and also changed sheets
in readiness for my granddaughter, Rebecca (Bec) who is coming
next Monday. It will be great to see her as it is about 15 months
since John and I went to Queensland to visit her and Peter and
my elder daughter and her family, including the 2 Great G D s.

I hope all is well with my friends all over the world and that the
weather is treating you kindly. It was foggy here for awhile but
then the sun came out and I got my washing nearly dry.

I have an item tonight called - "I am a Christian." It was written by
Maya Angelou. I hope you enjoy it.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian" I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering, "I was lost, now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say . . ."I am a Christian" I don't speak this with pride. I'm
confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say . . ."I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I am
professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say . . ."I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success, I'm
admitting I have failed and need God to clean up my mess.

When I say. . . "I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, my
flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian I still feel the sting of pain. I have
my share of heartaches so I call upon His name.

When I say . . . "I am a Christian I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a
simple sinner who received God's good grace . . . . . somehow !!
Amen.

First joke tonight is another, my son Geoff sent me. Thanks Geoff.

Neighbours,

Council tax re-valuers want to charge us more if we live in a nice area.
That ought to mean discounts for those of us who live in rough areas.

We have a huge council house in our street. The extended family is run
by a grumpy old woman with a pack of fierce dogs. Her car isn't taxed
or insured, and doesn't even have a number plate, but the police still
do not do anything.

Her bad tempered old man is famous for upsetting foreigners with racist
comments. A shopkeeper blames him for ordering the murder of his
son's wife, but nothing has been proved yet.

All their kids have broken marriages except the youngest, who everyone
thought was gay.

Two grandsons are meant to be in the Army but are always seen out in
nightclubs. The family's odd antics are always in the papers.

They are out of control . . . . . .

Who'd live near Windsor Castle ??

THis is a beautiful photo of a Hoya Bella that I had for many years.

I had this Wisteria on last night but pressed delete instead of backspace !!

This is my favorite rose -- "Double Delight."

Next joke was sent by my friend Sandy of Abandoned in Pasadena.

New Exercise Routine.

Remember to consult a physician before starting new physical exertion. . . .

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you plenty of room
at each side. With a 5 pound potato sack in each hand, extend your arms
straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can.

Try to reach a full minute, and then relax. Each day, you'll find that
you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks,
move up to 10 pound potato sack.

Then try 50 pound potato sacks and then
eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100 pound potato sack in
each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute.
(I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each of the sacks.

A preacher was completing a temperance sermon; with great expression
he said, " If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it in the
river."
With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world
I would take it and throw it into the river."

And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd
take it and throw it into the river."

He sat down.

The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile,
"For our closing song, let us sing Hymn #365: "Shall We Gather at the
River."

Confessor : I have stolen a fat goose from a poultry yard !
Priest : That is very wrong.
Confessor : Would you like to accept it, Father ?
Priest : Certainly not - return it to the man you stole it from.
Confessor : But I have offered it to him and he won't have it.
Priest : In that case you may keep it yourself.
Confessor : Thank you Father.

The Priest arrived home to find one of his geese had been stolen . . .

Wonderful that you show all those pretty flowers.

We visited at Windsor Castle a few years back. The Queen was there for the Ascot Races so the only part we could visit would have been the garage and one stable.
Since we were on a limited budget we opted to save our money, then splurge and eat at the MacDonald's down the street instead.

Sandy might like to know I've already put a potato in the right sack.

I've been helping the Canadians today they don't know when to celebrate any better than you do.
Some celebrated Sunday, others started early on Friday night, the calandar said Monday, July 2.
So I researched it for them and found this:
"* The Holidays Act provides that July 2 is Canada Day when July 1 is a Sunday." Re:

Yeaaa! No problems for you, with commenting in my blog. And both you and I, are on Firefox. I do love Firefox and have used it, for a long time.

You asked how I'm doing, apart from blogger problems. :-) My back is still giving me problems and my computer chair hurts, when it gets this way. Which cuts back on my computer time. Eeeek!!!!!! ,-) But it will clear up eventually.

Thank you for asking.

I hope you will have a lovely visit when your granddaughter comes.

Hugs,
Mari-Nanci

Hi Merle
Yeah! I'm exactly one month older than Diana if she is still alive.
I'm so touched. You want to add my birthdate into your precious book.
Thank you Merle =)

Another fun post to read...gosh, I certanily wouldn't want to live next to the Queen! LOL

Your flowers are just gorgeous...I'd never seen Hoya Bella before, it's beautiful!! The Wisteria is so lovely as well and I can see why that rose would be your favourite!!

Take care my friend! xoxo

Merle, I just love the comment about Neighbours...heheh! I'm a Republican by the way...

Your wisteria is gorgeous as is the hoya...they grow like weeds up here...all types of hoya. In NZ my aunty had one which she trained up over the bathroom mirror and it used to drip nectar onto the vanity. They can only be grown in a very sunny and sheltered place in NZ, or inside.

State of Origin tonight, although you're a Victorian and have no vested interest in this lot...still, can you barrack for Queensland, please?

Hugs xoxo
