The Positive Side of Life.

Post 246 - - - - - Monday, 2nd July, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ I am late starting tonight, so will get on with it.
I hope you are all fine and the Canadians had a happy day yesterday
and the Americans getting ready for Independence Day on the 4th.
I am OK and have been watching the concert for Princess Diana.
It was a great show and her sons spoke well, and plenty of variety
in the artists. Really enjoyed it, as I was a keen fan of Diana.

A short item called "The Positive Side of Life."

Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip
around the sun every year.

Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late
are often much jollier
than the people who have to wait for them.

Most of us go to our grave
with our music still inside us.

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
to make only once.

Don't cry because it's over;
smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
and all are different colors , , , , , ,

They all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day, and
know that someone
who thinks you're great
has thought of you today.

Pass this message on to those who mean so much to you.

This is my Wisteria plant outside my back door. December, 2006

These are John's two little dogs, that I baby-sit occasionally
The one on the left in both pics is Fluffy and the male is Buddy.
I couldn't find the photo of their last litter of four. Will get it from John.

Yes, I know I should have cropped it. Shows my lawn's lack of water,

My other son, Geoff sent me this first joke - Thanks Geoff.

The Pastor's Ass.

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it
in the race again - and it won again !!

The local paper read: "Pastor's Ass Out Front."

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he
ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read: "Bishop Scratches
Pastor's Ass."

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to
get rid of the donkey.

The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing the news, posted the following headline
the next day: "Nun has Best Ass in Town."

The bishop fainted. He informed the nun that she would have
to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read: "Nun Sells Ass for $10.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy
back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read: "Nun Announces Her Ass Is
Wild and Free."

The bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of this story is . . . being concerned about public opinion
can bring you much grief and misery . . . and even shorten your life.

So be yourself and enjoy life . . . Stop worrying about everyone
else's ass and you'll be a lot happier and live longer.
Have a nice day !!

When Adam came home in the small hours of the morning,
Eve was jealous. "But in all creation, there's only you and me,"
Adam reasoned. Mollified, Eve snuggled up to him. Still
when he fell asleep, she very carefully counted his ribs.

A couple, desperate to conceive a child, went to their priest
and asked him to pray for them "I'm going on a sabbatical
to Rome, " he said. "While I'm there I'll light a candle for you."

When the priest returned three years later, he went to the
couple's house and found the wife pregnant, busily attending
to two sets of twins. Elated, the priest asked where her
husband was, so he could congratulate him.

"He's gone to Rome," came the harried reply, "to blow out
that darn candle !!"

A traffic cop pulled over a speeding motorist and asked,
"Do you have any ID ?"
The motorist replied, "About what ?"

He, he ! I also watched the concert for Diana ! It was really very touching what these two boys did for their mother ! I think The Queen and even more dear Philip were green and sour about that. The boys must have loved their mother very much and lost her so early. She was a wonderful woman ! Isn't that funny that we both watched the concert, each sitting on the other part of the world, lol !

I remember when you babysat your granddogs, Merle. Aren't they cute? I have three granddogs and two grandcats...along with the grandkids...grin.

Your lawn just looks like everyone else's in Australia...dry and patchy. I wouldn't worry about it.

Love the Best Ass in Town...but the moral of that story is so true, isn't it?

Hope your weather isn't too cold. It's not too bad here at present, the westerlies have stopped blowing, which means the sun has some chance of warming us up.

Talk to you later. Hugs.

The wisteria indeed has a beautiful flower. I had to smile at Eve counting Adams ribs and the chap going to Rome to blow out the candle. :) ec

Dearest Merle
Wow!
Your Wisteria plant is so lovely =)

I'm a fan of Princess Diana too.
She's exactly one month younger than i'm if she's still alive.

Her two princes are very charming now =)

I love the little reference to crayons and about learning from them. I still love crayons, even though I'm almost 62, and that saying really appeals to me.

What's happened to our dear Fev, Merle? The club better hang on to him, he IS Carlton.
