Natural Highs.

Post 292 - - - - - - Tuesday, 21st August, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ Thank you all so much for your messages
of sympathy, which I will try to answer tomorrow. It has been a
busy day here, with the fortnightly shopping trip and we are all
stocked up again. Then I went to find out the results of my
recent blood tests which were mostly good, but the diabetes is
a little bit worse, so now I have a tablet to take daily, which won't
kill me and hopefully should help. My doctor is a very nice
man and a friend and both he, Alan, and I are pleased with the
lesion on my nose that he froze off a couple of weeks ago.

I hope you are all doing well and having a good week so far.
I am fine and there is no need to worry - I must be a tough
old bird - and manage to get through the sad times OK.

This was sent to me by a dear friend, and I wanted to share it.

And another nice item from my friend Barbara. It makes good sense
to me. We should all be able to thrive on Natural Highs and not need
alcohol or drugs to enjoy our lives. Thanks Barbara.

Time for a few jokes - - - - -

A traveller in Africa was staying at a remote part of the country.
One day as he left the veranda of his dwelling, a lion leapt at
him but he had the presence of mind to duck and the lion
jumped over his head.

This happened again a day or so later with the lion clearing off
into the bush after missing him.

Being very cautious by now, he looked through the window
before venturing out. To his astonishment, there before the
veranda, was the lion practicing low jumps.

Accident survivor.
There was a perfect man who met a perfect woman. After a
perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life
together was, of course, perfect. One snowy, stormy
Christmas Eve this perfect couple was driving along a winding
road when they noticed someone in distress. Being the perfect
couple they stopped to help.

There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not
wanting to disappoint any children on the Eve of Christmas,
the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle.
Soon they were driving along, delivering the toys.

Unfortunately the driving conditions deteriorated and the
perfect cou
ple and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them
survived the accident. Who was the survivor ?

The perfect woman.. There is no Santa Claus.... and no such thing
as a perfect man !!

A young woman was out bush walking when she came across
a friendly
wombat on the side of the road. She picked it up
and took it to the police station. "What should I do with this?
she asked the police man.

"Take him to the zoo," he replied.
The next morning, the police man saw the woman with the
wombat again. "I thought I told you to take him to the Zoo."

"I did, and this afternoon we're going to the movies."

Mum and Dad went out for dinner one night. They both ordered
steak, veggies and potato. Dad had a long hard look at his
potato and called the waitress over and said, "This potato is bad."

The waitress picked up the potato, smacked it, and put it down
on his plate, saying, "If that potato gives you any more trouble
just let me know."

A worried blonde rang the police and said, " My car has been
broken into and they stole the steering wheel, the dashboard,
the accelerator, the brake pedal and even the gear stick !!!"

The lady at the other end of the line said, "OK, we will be
there in a miute."
However before they could get to the crime scene, the same
blonde rang up giggling and said, "Don't worry. I got in the
back seat by mistake !!"

I read in the paper the other day, that that the Beijing Olympics
will be the first to have home made medals and souvenirs.
Made in China !!

Bye for now, dear friends. Enjoy your lives and spread a little
sunshine if you can. Love and best wishes to you all. Merle.

Glad you got a good report and the perky little lady shows herself when you talk about yourself. Tough ole bird indeed.

Hope those home made medals are checked for LEAD. Now my imagination runs wild and I can see the winners tumbling off their perch with heavy medals weighing them down.

I must remember the back seat joke for CT when I go to lunch next week with the Art Venture Group.

Have a wonderful day. Love and prayers.

Hi Merle -- I know you are taking good care of your self. I am sorry you have the diabetis issue to deal with. My best wishes for that.

"The perfect woman.. There is no Santa Claus.... and no such thing
as a perfect man!!"
And the perfect woman always waits in the car while the man goes to check on things.

Thanks for you continued blonde jokes, this one is precious! Some rainy or cold day I will search on your blogs for all the ones with blonde jokes. If I copy all of them to a file I should have a very nice blonde jokes book on file.
..
I should have read yesterday's post yesterday and I could have wished Jeanette a happy day on the correct day. She visited my blog this morning.

Here I am...again catching up on blogs. I'm sorry you've had sadness to contend with these past few days, Merle. I hope things are looking a little brighter in your world today.

Take good care of yourself...and keep your chin up. :)

Dearest Merle,

I was so sorry to read about your friend Debbie's death, she was much too young. I've also been heartsick about what Ann has been going through...I wish I was there right now to give her a hug and tell her that everything will be ok.

I've been busy with my veggie garden...everything always seems to be ready all at the same time! lol Between pickling, canning and freezing, it's taking up most of my days! So worth it, though, once it's all done:-)

I so loved the Natural Highs...I prefer those to any other:-) We're supposed to get rain overnight and tomorrow so I'm hoping to enjoy one of the highs...laying in bed listening to the rain!!

Take care dear friend! xoxox

Take care and enjoy.

Well, Merle, both the graphic of the animals and the list of natural highs are quite on target. I have a couple of acquaintances who could gain from both today. Therefore, unless you have an objection, I shall email them to them.

A dear friend sent me this email and I wish to share it with you.

It read: God doesn't give us what we can handle; God helps us handle what we are given.

It made me feel good and I hope it does the same for you.
