The Power of Kindness.

Hello my friends ~~ I hope you have had or are having a
great weekend. It has been quite cool here, and we got a
little rain which is always welcome. I have had a heater
on today for the first time during the day. The top temp
was about 11 C which is about 51 F. Cool for here.

I have chosen to post "The Power of Kindness." I hope
you enjoy it.

After having just lost his bride of 42 years, a reader named
Bob wrote to tell how deeply important it's been to him to
be the beneficiary of grand and spontaneous acts of kindness
of strangers.

In one case, he was overcome with emotion and began to cry
while making copies of all the notesof love and support he
received. Seeing his pain, a young woman hugged him until
he regained control.

Weeks later, he was at a restaurant alone and began to cry
when he thought about his wife. A waitress sat beside him
and held his hand. As long as there are people like that in
the world, Bob concluded there's still hope.

The great musician Pablo Casals said, "Each person has inside
a basic decency and goodness. If he acts on it and listens to
it, he is giving a great deal of what the world needs most. It is
not complicated, but it takes courage. It takes courage for a
person to lsten to his own goodness and act upon it."

Poet, William Wordworth put it another way, declaring that
the best portion's life are "little, nameless, unremembered
acts of kindness and love." And novelist Henry James said,
"Three things in human life are important. "The first is to be
kind. The second is to be kind. And the third is to be kind."

Think how much better the world would be, and how much
more gratifying your life would be, if every day each of us set
out to lighten the life or brighten the day of another, with
simple kindness.

First item tonight is from my friend Lady Di. Thank you Di.

I am a "Kept" Woman.

You see there were times when I thought I would lose my
mind. But God "kept" me sane. (Isa.26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer.
But the LORD "kept"
me moving. ( Gen. 28:15)

At times I wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done
me wrong. But the LORD "kept" my mouth shut. (Psa.13)

Sometimes I think the money is not enough.
But GOD has helped me to "keep" the lights on, the water
on, the car paid, the house paid, etc. ( Matt. 6:25-34 )

When I thought I would fall, He "kept" me up.

When I thought I was weak, He "kept" me strong.
( I Pet. 5:7 ) M

I could go on and on, but I am sure you hear me !

I'm blessed to be "kept"

I'm kept by the Love and Grace of God !!

Di also sent the joke called "Underwear dust". That
worried me a little, but it's OK.

One evening a husband, thinking he was being funny, said
to his wife, "Perhaps we should start washing your clothes
in Slim Fast. Maybe it would take few inches off your butt.

His wife was not impressed, and decided that she simply
couldn't let such a comment go unrewarded.

The next morning the husband took a pair of underwear out
of his drawer. "What the hell is this??" he said to himself as
a little 'dust' cloud appeared when he shook them out.

"April," he hollered into the bathroom, "why did you put
talcum powder in my underwear ?"
She replied, . . ."It's not talcum powder . . .It's Miracle Grow."

An old man was sitting on a bench at the Mall.A young man
walked up to the bench and sat down. He had spiked hair
in all different colors,green, red, orange, blue and yellow.
The old man just stared . . . Over time, the young man
noticed the old man was staring at him.

The young man finally said sarcastically, "What's the matter,
old man. never done anything wild in your life ?"

Without batting an eye, the old man replied, "Got drunk
once when I was in the Marines, on a tropical island and
had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if you were
my son. "

A wife came home just in time to find her husband in bed
with another woman. With super-human strength born
of fury, she dragged him down the stairs, out the back
door, and into the tool shed in the back yard and put his
penis in a vice. She then secured it tightly and removed
the handle.

Next she picked up a hacksaw. The husband was terrified
and screamed. "Stop. Stop. You're not going to cut if off,
are you?"

The wife with a gleam of revenge in her eye, put the saw
in her husband's hand and said . . . "Nope, I'm going to set
the shed
on fire. You do whatever you have to.

A woman stopped by, unannounced at her recently
married son's house. She rang the door-bell and walked in.

She was shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch.
totally naked. Soft music was playing, and the sroma of
perfume filled the room.

"What are you doing ?" she asked

"I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work,"
the daughter-in-law answered.
"But you're naked," the mother-in-law exclaimed/
"This is my love dress," the daughter-in-law
explained.
"Love dress ? But you're naked."

My husband loves me to wear this dress." she explained.
"It excites him . . .no end. Every time he sees me in this
dress, he instantly becomes romantic and ravages me
for hours on end. He can't get enough of me."

The mother-in-law left. When she got home, she
undressed, showered and put on her best perfume,
dimmed the lights, put on a romantic CD and laid on the
couch waiting for her husband to arrive. Finally,her
husband came home. He walked in and saw her lying
there so provocatively.

"What are you doing ?" he asked.
"This is my love dress," she whispered sensually.
" Needs ironing," he said. "What's for dinner ?"

A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a
coma for months, yet she stayed by his bedside every
day. At last when he came to he motioned for her to
come closer. Painfully he whispered to her, eyes full
of tears , "Darling, you've always been with me all
through the bad times.

When I got fired, you stayed by me, when my business
failed you were there when we lost the house and when
my health began to fail, you stayed beside me. Do you
know what ?"
"What dear<" she said gently smiling as her heart began
to fill with warmth. "I think you are bad luck," was his
response.

A cocky young man on the first day in a big multi-
national firm thought he would try his authority and
dialled the kitchen.
"Get me my coffee immediately," he thundered down
the phone.
The voice from the other side responded, "You fool,
you have dialled the wrong extension.do you know who
you're ta;ling to ?"

Still being cocky, the trainee said, "NO, who am I
talking to ?"
It's the managing director of the company you idiot."

The trainee then shouted back, "Well do you know who
the hell you're talking to?"

"No," replied the maging director.
"Thank God for that, " replied the trainee."

If I am not smiling when I get here, I am when I leave. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
LOL wonder what the retribution was for the hubby telling her that her love dress needed ironing. I think she might have done the same as the woman who caught the guy cheating. YiKES!!!!
I love the kindness one. It is so much easier to be kind and much more rewarding than being mean.

Hi Merle, you stay warm, please. Our low is supposed to get to 48F tonight, first time in a long time it would get under 60F.
You have good sources for your jokes. They just about always cheer me up fine.

Hope the temp doesn't get too cold for you, that is about what our low temp is here. The daytime temp is about 80F.

Merle ~ I just loved the "The Power of Kindness." post here! I could relate to Bob's situation if I ever lost Mrs. LZ. ~ I just can't imagine how tough that would be. I am I'd be much less than half the man I am today! ~ jb///

Oh my, oh my, loved the woman dragging her husband to the tool shed. I guess if she did set the shed on fire he would be in quite a dilemma. I read it to my husband, but I don't think he thought it was as funny as I thought it was. I'm still chuckling to myself. Thanks for sharing. Have a great evening. We're having some thunder showers, even had a little hail about an hour ago. Thank goodness it was small, that way it didn't damage the flowers and things just starting to sprout out.

Glad it's gotten a little cooler for you. Would you believe we had a little snowy-rain today? Mother Nature still likes to play games with us...even at the end of April.

Dear Merle,

We had a beautiful but cool weekend here, and tonight, which is Monday, we may get some late frost, so I covered up my tomato plants. I only have 7, so it wasn't hard to do. I am looking forward to fresh tomatoes by the end of June. And guess what? Today I had a salad made with fresh lettuce from my garden! It was so delicious!

The Power of Kindness is great and so very true. And I loved I Am a Kept Woman!

Underwear Dust worried you? Hehe, dear Merle. That made me chuckle. And the miracle grow in the underwear had me chuckling even more! Hehehe!

And the young man with the spiked hair and the old man, was funny, too. Well, of course, they were all funny! And the best of the quotes was about not finding fault, finding a remedy.
