I'm Back Again.

Post 532 ~ ~ ~ Wednesday, 12th November, 2008.

Hello Everyone ~~ I'm back on the air again, but I am tired tonight, so will just make this a short post. Thanks so much for all your e mails and I will get around to visit you all very soon. Peter and Warren left this morning to visit friends in Tocumwal, on the Murray River, and then on to Jeanette's place in Yarrawonga, also on the Murray, where they will spend the night, and then on to Wodonga on border again to New South Wales. to see more friends.

Poor Warren, he has met quite a few of our relatives and friends and I guess he is hoping we run out of them before too long. They are going to look around Canberra on Thursday
and then head for Brisbane where Warren lives and has to go to work on Monday next.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the week with them. Such a nuisance having to go to the hospital on two days, I see Doctor next Monday. Thank you for your good wishes there.
Peter spent a lot of time sorting out my computer (but doesn't like Vista, which I have)
Warren was a help with the dishes a good few times. Thanks mate!

We had three computers going in the lounge room, most of the time. We went to visit a new shop called "WOW" -- Sight and sound products, and as it had just opened there were a few bargains, so I took the opportunity to buy a few Christmas presents etc.

I think they enjoyed their stay as well, as I did. It is about 19 or 20 months since I saw Peter last and a few years since I saw Warren. As we are getting older, I am so glad that
they made the trip. Peter's new car is nice and comfortable and Warren took some videos along the way. The Great Ocean Road is a Victorian attraction and very popular
with tourists. It was great to see Kathy and Ard and the kids were all home, so that was
nice, and it won't be long until I am back there for Christmas.

After the boys (?) left, I washed all the bedclothes, towels etc and as it was darn hot, it all got dry very quickly. The cooler has been going all day. Summer has arrived in Spring.

Since I am here, I will post a list of English signs around the world which was sent by
Sue and Bob. Thank you for this one.

It is forbidden to enter a woman, even a foreigner, if dressed as a man.

Doctor's Office, Rome :

In the lobby of a Moscow hotel across from a Russian Orthodox monastery :
You are welcome to visit the cemetery where famous Russian and Soviet composers, artists and writers are buried daily, except Thursday.

Computer Dependency Test. Here is a quick test you can take.

This just proves that we have become dependent on our computers.

Q : Are you male or female?

To find the answer, look down . . . .

Hi Merle,

What a great time you must have had.It is always nice to visit with friends and relatives. It sounds like you and Peter are a fun-loving sister and brother.

Some of our friends say they don't care for Vista either. I got my computer a few months before Vista came out and from what I'm hearing I'm glad.

Thanks for sharing your fun time with us. Vacations are always so nice, but tiring. I usually need 2 or 3 days of rest when I get home. Don't work to hard and have a nice week-end.

I enjoyed the mixed up funny signs from around the world. lol.

Dear Merle,
Well it sounds like you had a very nice visit. It is so nice that when you have company they help out along the way. Nice boys.

I sure hope your tests come out good for you. You know you will be in my prayers.

Take good care of yourself.

Sue and Bob do have some funnies. Glad your brother was there for you when you had to go for your test. Hope all the results are A-OK. My blood work came back great. Doctor just said, keep doing what you're doing. LOL Saw my oncologist yesterday, will see them again in 3 months. Didn't have to draw any blood at their office this time. Today Abe goes to see his urologist for a 6 month check up. Our youngest daughter is having a small cyst removed from her ovary with the two small incisions like they are able to do now. Her sister took her to the hospital and she'll come home late this afternoon. Today it's suppose to get up around 50F yesterday it didn't get over 40F all day. It was very cold when I was out sucking the leaves up from the driveway and patio. Today the Granddaughter gets out of school early (2pm) apparently they do this about once a month. Well have to run. Take care.

Hello Merle, I've just discovered your blog after you left a comment at Gill's (That British Woman). I have enjoyed my visit here and reading your posts, lovely.

So pleased to hear you had a good time.

Have you got the address of that laundry in Rome?

Merle, glad to know the visit went so well. Hope the medical tests go even better.

Loved the signs. They reminded me of one I saw in a restaurant in Saigon in 1971. There were many signs on the wall and this is the one I chose to remember:

The only difference between the US Army and the Boy Scouts is that the Boy Scouts have adult leadership.

btw, the next time you decide to upgrade your computer, think about getting a Mac. They don't have anywhere near the problems PC's have. No Vista to worry about.

Merle
sounds like you had a gran visit with your brother and Warren. I had to LOL when you stated that Warren would be glad to see you run out of relatives. That is so funny. Sorry you had to take a couple of days for test but we are thankful that you did not have to stay. It has gotten cooler here and the leaves are falling like rain. Take care
Peace

Hi Merle. I'm glad you had such a good time with your company. You worked hard to get all the laundry done so quickly but I know how good it feels to have it done with.
I'm tired tonight so won't write more.
Take care and God bless

*LOL* Excellent post Merle!!!

I'm so glad you got to see Peter and Warren. How far away does he live?

May I ask, how did you end up so far away from each other?

Have a wonderful day...

These were hilarious! I've read similar things in a little book called "Anguished English," it has a section on translations. They can be tricky - but funny! I hope you get feeling better. It's funny to hear you talking about spring and summer when we are having our autumn and winter - or as much of either as we have in Florida!

Hi Merle -- I am hoping those two guys didn't mess your house up too badly and am glad that you could get the guest things ready for your next guests. You never are hurting for company, your relatives and kids take good watch after you.

I didn't know that Warren is still working, did he go back or has he been working all this time? I will check for his tale of travel on his blog, he does soooooo good at doing that.

What is it with the Russians that they don't bury on Thursdays? Those were all good.
Cheers,
..

I don't know, Merle. I leave the country for a few days and you end up in hospital. Not that they're related, of course, just that I can't leave you alone for one minute...tut, tut.

Seriously, I hope all is well now and that you are feeling better. I hope Peter and that Warren behaved themselves...I know what those two are like when they get together.

Take care, Merle. Hugs.
