Hello Everyone ~~ I hope you are all over your celebrating and no-one has
a sore head !! It has rained here most of the day, which was great, but we
only reached a top temperature of 8 C which is about 48 F. Cold and windy.
Blogger kindly let me post photos tonight, so I have 2 very different ones.
Shepparton has a Mooving Art feature of around 50 fibreglass cows, so
I found one of them.
This is a Mermaid Cow !!
This is a few of my fairy ornaments in my lounge room.
Unfortunately I did a "Britney" Oops I did it Again. I lost the other photo, so
will put it on tomorrow, all being well. And try not to lose it. I have no idea
what would happen if I tried to put it on now. Where would it go ??
I have a nice story that had me tricked until the end. Hope you enjoy.
It is called "Visiting Hours." Author Unknown.
He was looking forward to this moment all day long, after 6 days of labor and
it finally arrived -- Visiting Day. The man with the keys arrived to swing open
the large, heavy doors. The cold gray hall springs to life in the warm glow of
light. He could hardly control his emotions. The families began to arrive. He
peers from the corner of the room, longing for the first glimpse of his loved one.
He lives for the weekends. He lives for these visits.
As the cars arrive he watches intently. Then finally, she arrives -- his bride, for
whom he would do anything. They embrace, eat a light lunch and reminisce how
things used to be. At one point, they break into singing, with interruptions of
laughter and applause. But all too soon it is over. A tear comes to his eyes as his
bride departs.
Then the man with the keys closes the heavy doors. He hears the key turn in
the lock marking the end of a special day. There he stands, alone again. He
knows that most of his visitors will not contact him until next week.
As the last car pulls away from the parking lot, Jesus retreats into loneliness
as He waits until next Sunday - - Visiting Day. Is the time we spend with
Jesus an everyday thing, or do we just visit Him on Sunday ???

Why is it so ?
Why is it that people say they " slept ike a baby" when babies wake up
every two hours ?.
Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries
are flat?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are 4 billion stars, but
check when you say the paint is wet ?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard ?
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets ?
Do married people live longer than single ones or does it just seem
longer ?
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in
binoculars to look at things on the ground ?

A lady around seven months pregnant got on a street car and sat down.
She noticed the man opposite her smiling. Feeling humiliated, she
promptly changed her seat.
This time his smile changed turned into a grin. She changed her seat again.
He seemed still more amused.
When on the fourth change he burst out laughing, she could not bear it any
longer. She complained too the conductor, who had him arrested.
When the date came up in court the judge asked the man if he had anything
to say.
"Your Honor, it was like this," he said. "When the lady came in, I could not
help but notice her condition."
"She sat under a sign that read "Gold Dust Twins coming", I had to smile.
Then she moved under an ad that said, 'Use Sloan's Linament to reduce
that swelling."
"When she placed herself inder 'William's Stick Did It.' I could not hold myself."
"The fourth time she sat below, 'Goodyear Rubber would have prevented this
accident,' and I laughed out loud !!"
"Dismissed," said the judge.

There were three girls at a bar, a red head, a brunette and a blonde.
They have a seat at the bar. The bar tender says, "If you go into the
bathroom there is a mirror. Look into the mirror and tell anything in
your life that you believe is true. If you are telling the truth then
"POOF" you'll disappear."
So the red head goes in first and stares deeply into the mirror and
proclaims. "I think that I am the most beautiful woman in the world."
"POOF" a hundred dollars pops out.
Then the brunette goes in, "I think that I am the smartest woman in
the world." "POOF" a hundred dollars pops out.
Now it is the blonde's turn. She slowly walks to the bathroom with her
hands over her eyes and peeks between her fingers at the mirror. She
waits. . . nothing happens . . . she is glad. She stands bravely and
states and states, "I think. . . "POOF" she disappears.

Was Grandpa mad when they went through his luggage at the border?
Not in the least. They found his glasses that he'd lost 2 weeks earlier.

Did you hear about the desperado who tried to hijack a busload of
Japanese tourists ?
Fortunately , police had 5,000 photos of the suspect.

A few quotes - - - blogger likes red tonight - -
Becoming a grandmother is more often a middle-age than old-age event.
For many women today this is a time when, free of immediate famile
responsibilities, they discover new skills and at last are able to do
what they want to do. The idea of old age is also changing. Women
in their sixties and seventies do not get old. Instead we enter an active
and satisfying 'third age;, and after that at eighty, a happy and
contented 'fourth age'. - - - Sheila Kitzinger.

A true apology is more than just acknowledgment of a mistake. It is
recognition that something you have said or done has damaged a
relationship and that you care enough about the relationship to want
it repaired and restored. - -Norman Vincent Peale.
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think,
all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the
friends I want to see. - - - John Burroughs.
We never know the love of a parent until we become parents
ourselves. - - - Henry Ward Beecher.
He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.

Bye now my friends. I hope all is well with you, stay happy and
enjoy your lives. Love and best wishes, Merle.

wow, I like your funny stories.Don't know if I said before I dropped in on you a while ago. I have been to Shepparton, quite a few times, when we used to travel to Bright to go to the snow fields. Lovely town bought some great clothes there and found a lovely chinese take away.
Oh I love the mermaid cow
Your weather is justified at least, it's winter ! But here we have 15° and rain since a months and we call it summer ! it's a shame !
We are having typical july temps here in the Pacific Northwest, USA. 70 & 80 degrees. I do my outside work early morning or late evening as I do not do well in the heat.
Your fairy ornaments are cute and you have them displayed so nicely.
The story about visiting Jesus made me feel sad. I visit with him most of my waking hours. He's my best friend and my helper. I suppose if anyone were to ask Him what He thinks of me, He'd most likely say that I talk too much! LOL.
I loved the story about the 'GOLD DUST TWINS."
Blesings Merle.
Love, Bev
Hi Merle,
As you probably know from some of my posts....I LOVE FAIRIES! I have quite a few myself. I love your collection....beautiful. Happy day dear friend.
It has been fairly cool around here for the last month or so, not even into the 90s.
That's because we have had a cooling rain every day since I posted my Texas sized raindrops picture.
I press the remote harder when the batteries are low. Why?
Will they auction those painted cows off for charity? Someone in our subdivision bought one. It was in their front yard until our POA made them moooove it to the back.
..
Oh yes, I still love the blondes and your jokes about them. Thanks.
..
Merle,
I like your fairy collection- all so pretty!
And that COW!!! :)
Junie
Hi Merle, the mermaid cow must be a new one, I've never seen it before.
BTW you can put pictures on a post anytime (even through edit post after you have posted) a new picture always goes to the top of your page, above everything else.... if you are game then you simply click on it and Ctrl X it.... POOF, its gone,
now put the curser where you want to insert the picture and Ctrl V, it will appear there..... MAGIC.
So glad you got the rain - we could use some more around here. There is a high probability of rain here next Thursday - the day we go to the beach! ec
Hi Merle...I've never seen a mermaid cow before...wonder where they caught her...?
Your fairies are lovely...watch Carole doesn't make a lightning raid all the way from Canada...heheh!
