Hello Everyone ~ I hope all is going well for you and the
weather is pleasant. All OK here, though I got very upset
watching Steve Irwin’s memorial, especially when his 8
year old daughter spoke about her Dad. She was just so
brave and did it so well. And the papers are full of it too.
I guess you noticed that my last post was all jumbled up,
with the sentences running together. Peter has fixed this
but who know what will happen with this post. I hope it
publishes the way I set it out. Very disheartening, but
let’s think positive. I won’t make it too long.
Also thanks to everyone who commented, in case I don’t
get around to you all.
The article I have selected is called “My Road.”
My Road looked so straight and “Everything” was at the end
of it. I thought it would be so easy to get to it, so I started
off. This was morning.
At noontide, “Everything” was just as far away as ever, and
somehow the road was not so straight now, obstacles were in
the way, and sometimes “Everything was hidden from view.
I climbed Disappointment Hill, crossed Frustration River and
the Swamps of Despair, and I was so tired, I would like to
have turned back.
Then night came, and “Everything” was blotted out, but stars
for hope shone out, and the big silver moon said, “Courage,
go on, it’s worth-while.”
So, on I went, and fresh “Daybreak brought me to “Everything”
--- God, Love, Dearest Friends, and Memories, and I was glad
I went forward, for I would have missed all these, which are
my life.

And a couple of jokes---
A novice pilot crashed into a paddock. Rescuers hauled him from
the wreckage and rushed him to hospital.
When he regained consciousness, he saw that his chest and
both arms were bandaged, and his leg was in plaster.
Fearing the worst, he clutched the arm of a passing nurse and said,
“Nurse, please tell me, did I come in here to die ?”
"No, love," she replied, "you came in yesterday."

Q. What’s the difference between in-laws and outlaws ?
<><><><>
Righteousness.
If there be righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty
in the character.
If there be beauty in the character, there will be harmony
in the home.
If there be harmony in the home, there will be order in the
nation.
If there be order in the nation, there will be peace in the
world.

Enough for tonight, Take care my friends, Merle.

Always good for a laugh, Merle. Love that last couple, who knew Abraham Lincoln said so many thought provoking things. I am amazed how many times I notice he is the author. lol Enjoy your day Merle! :)
Looks like it posted fine. Never know what Blogger is going to do next.
Nice as always and thanks for your comment on granny.
(Turkey turned into curry over rice - I was feeling a little tired by dinnertime).
Everyone ate it.
Thanks for checking on my comments!! I really like the story, My Road. It is definately how I feel some (most) days.
I know how disheartening one can become when Blogger doesn't cooperate after putting so much work into a post!! Glad that everything seems to be back in order:-) Loved the poem "My Road" and the jokes were great...Outlaws are wanted! LOL love it!! Take care dear Merle! Hugs to you xox
I'm sorry you took Steve's death so hard (((hugs))) my friend...
great post!
:-D
Hiya! I'm here from Audrey's blog. Lovely blog. Don't worry about the mess-ups, all of Blogger has been a bit weird lately. One of my posts' pictures suddley all disappeared to be replaced by X's! Aacck!
Also, about Steve Irwin. I was so sad when I heard about his loss. We don't have cable, so I don't watch tv other than movies we rent or buy. I haven't seen the tribute. But you know, I read something on another person's blog that really got me thinking. He said that it was 'sad that we could get so upset at the passing of someone we didn't even know, yet have no idea who our neighbors are and what is going on in their lives'.
I went driving later and saw a funeral 'drive slowly' sign just around the corner from my house. I didn't know who died. I still don't, and I feel very sad about that.
Hi Merle,
I saw a bit of Steve Irwin's memorial, and his daughter did so well--I don't even know her but I felt very proud of her.
There was a funeral down the road from me on my mother's street. My mom called this morning to tell me that it was the nieghbors daughter that had died, she was a newlywed and was pregnate she didn't live throught the labor. It's so sad that that can still happen, that women can still die in child birth.

Hello Merle.
Do you know, "My Road" kind of reminded me of Pilgrim's Progress. Same sort of thing, I guess.
Blogger can be a bit of a pain in the you-know-what at times, can't it? But today's post looks fine. At least you have Peter to give you a hand with it. Brothers can be useful items at times, can't they?
Take care, my friend.
Robyn xoxo
great word and funny jokes,I had to re-read the one with an accent :)
Hi Merle
The passage on the "Righteousness" is so important.
Thank you, Merle =)
