The Nice Guy.

Hello People ~~ It looks like I am back on the air.
Thanks to the efforts of my brother Peter at
http://www.holtieshouse.blogspot.com/
If we lose this one, we had better give up I think.
He has contacted some of you, and I have contacted
others with the new url It is called Third Try and
is as follows - - -
http://merle3rdtimelucky.blogspot.com/ for obvious
reasons. Thank you for your comments and support.
Now I might try to post something.

It is called “The Nice Guy”

He wasn’t much to look at
And he hadn’t much to say.
To all who wished to pass him,
He gave the right of way.
To all who asked assistance
He would give a helping hand.
And every sort of trouble
He appeared to understand.

He didn’t get his wisdom
From deep books on the shelf,
He’d learned the ache of sorrow
For he’d suffered it himself.
He knew the disappointment
Of a fond hope that’s denied,
And he knew a friend is heartened
When someone’s at his side.

A couple of jokes now ---

A young monk arrives at the monastery and is assigned
to helping the other monks in copying the old texts and
laws of the church by hand.
He notices that all the monks are copying from copies,
not from the original manuscript.
So the new monk goes to the abbot to point out that if
someone made even a small error, in the first copy, it
would never be corrected. The error would be continued
in all later copies.
“We’ve been copying from the copies for centuries, but you
make a good point, my son.,” says the head monk.

He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery
where the original manuscripts were kept in a locked vault,
which hadn’t been opened for hundreds of years.
Hours went by and nobody sees the old abbot.

The young monk gets worried and goes down to look for him.
He finds him banging his head against the wall and wailing;
We missed the “R” !! We missed the “R” !!
His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying
uncontrollably.
“What’s wrong, father?” asks the young monk.

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies: “The word was
celebrate.”

anything. – Anonymous.

This above all --- to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as night follows day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

May your joys be as deep as the ocean, your
sorrows as light as it’s foam. – Anon.

Hi Merle,

I have been looking for your blog and wondered what had happened. You've had a real hard time of it haven't you?

I got your comment and found your blog the other day, but was unable to leave a comment. Ann hooked me up with a link to try, so I've found you again and this is MY third try leaving a comment, and I hope this gets easier as things go along.

Good luck with your new blog.

Janice~

Mr. Eddie is still having trouble leaving a comment here. I'll leave the link in his comment box. Don't have his email address.

Hi Merle -- I mostly lurk around your blog but will stop in to say 'welcome back.'
Celebrate is a good word, celebate is a bad word. Maybe Beta.Blogger is celebrating when he should be celebate?
..

Jim said...

You know we are misspelling celibate?
Check this blog:

I'm not sure it is one I want to read.
