Angel Worry Box.

Post 90 - - - - - Monday, 11 December 2006.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope the start of the week has been a

good day for you. I guess you are all busy – it seems to go

with the Season. The fires are still burning, but due to the

excellent work of the fire fighters back burning and making

huge fire breaks with bulldozers, there has only been a few

homes lost and Thank God no lives to date. The weather is

cooler, but no rain unfortunately. We keep hoping !!

Today, my friend and I went to a Charity Card shop where

they sell cards for various charities and also gifts of all sorts.

I bought a few things, including a nice little box with a glass

angel inside along with the following verse. This is for the daughter of my cousin Kath who passed away a few months

ago. I hope she likes it. I liked the verse enough to share it.

This box is for your worries,

The aches within your heart,

A place to tuck away your fears,

Where love and hope can start.

So keep this box beside you

And know how much we care

For when you need peace and joy

Your angel will be there.

Joke time - - - -

A blonde goes to the post office to buy stamps for her

Christmas cards. She says to the clerk, “May I have 50

Christmas stamps?”

The clerk says, “What denomination ?”

The blonde says , “God help us. Has it come to this ?

“Oh, give me six Catholic, 12 Presbyterian, 10 Lutheran and

22 Baptists.

Little five year old Johnny was in the bath tub, and his Mom

was washing his hair. She said to him, “Wow, your hair is growing so. fast. You need a haircut again.”

Little Johnny replied, “Maybe you should stop watering it so much.”

A father was trying to teach his young son the evils of alcohol.

He put one worm in a glass of water and another worm in a glass of whiskey. The worm in the water lived, while the one in the whiskey curled up and died.

“All right, son,” the father asked, “what does that show you ?”

“Well Dad, it shows that if you drink alcohol, you will not have worms.”

Little girl to her friend : “I’m never having kids. I hear they take nine months to download.

A four year old boy and his father went to the beach. There was a dead seagull lying on the sand. The boy asked his father,

“Dad, what happened to the birdie ?”

His Dad told him, “Son, the bird died and went to heaven.”

Then the boy asked, “And God threw him back down ?”

A young man moved away from his parents to become a student.

Proudly showing off his new apartment to a couple of his friends late one night, he led the way to the bedroom where there was a big brass gong.

“What’s that big brass gong ?“ one of his guests asked.

“It’s not a gong. It’s a talking clock,” the man replied.

“A talking clock? Seriously?” asked his astonished friend.

“Yup,” replied the student.

“How’s it work?” the 2nd guest asked, squinting at it.

“Watch,” the student replied. He picked up a hammer, gave it an ear-shattering pound and stepped back.

The three stood looking at one another for a moment. Suddenly

someone on the other side of the wall screamed out : “You idiot

it’s ten past three in the morning !!”

An old man lived in the country. He wanted to dig his potato garden but it was hard work as the ground was so hard. His son

Fred who used to help him was in prison. The old man wrote to him, and described his predicament.

Dear Fred, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over as I know you would dig it for me,

Love, Dad.

A few days later he received a letter from his son – Dear Dad. For heaven’s sake Dad don’t dig up that garden, that’s where I buried the BODIES, Love, Fred.

At 4 am the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologised to the old man and left.

The same day the old man received another letter from his son

Dear Dad. Go ahead and plant the potatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances. Love, Fred.

I watched the V8 supercar race from Philip Island yesterday and you could see the hazy from all the fires you have going there. It was very warm at the races and it reminded me of what you all wrote about in your blogs.

I had to laugh at the joke about Johnny in the bathtub telling his mom to stop watering his hair so much. I can certainly picture my boys saying something like that.

Take care.

Dear mom brought me one of those little glass angels in a box with the prayer and I just treasure it! I've no doubt your friend will love it! I so enjoyed the Johnny joke about his hair growing so fast...that could have been one of my boys saying that when they were little! lol I love the saying "The moment may be temporary but the memory is forever"...that is so true, how many things happen in a blink of an eye that we remember for the rest of our lives!! Hope your day was a good one dear friend xoxo

Hopefully you will get some rain soon to knock the fires down. I like the Will Rogers one - "Things ain't what they used to be and probably never was". I think I have talked to people like that who remember stuff that never happened. :) ec
