Post 97 - - - - - Monday, 18 December 2006.
Hello My Friends ~~ Well this may be my last post for a
while, although I will try for tomorrow night. Kathy and
her son and a daughter are coming and we will leave on the
Wednesday 20th. I hope to be back about the following
Wednesday 27th. But I have to fit in with my grand-
daughter’s plans, as she will bring me home.
I hope that everything is going well for you all , and that the
weather is not too hot or too cold depending on where you
live. The weather here has been a little milder which has helped the fire fighters make back burns and containment
areas etc. Several New Zealand men were hurt in the fires
but thankfully, none are in life threatening conditions.
Closer to home, there is a grass fire on the banks of the river
not too far from where I live. So I do hope there will be no
more fires from the embers, and people in the street are being
warned about flying embers. A couple of low flying planes flew
over, probably to photograph it. The air is very smokey tonight.
Just heard on local news, the planes were helping fight the fire
so it must have been a fair size.
Tonight I am going to post an item called “ Your Age by Chocolate Math !!” Our friend June posted it awhile ago.
Don’t Cheat by Scrolling Down First !!
It takes less than a minute.
Work this out as you read.
Be sure you don’t read the bottom until you work it out.
This is not a waste of time; It’s fun !!
First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate – (more than once but less than 10)
Multiply this number by 2
Add 5
Multiply it by 50 – I’ll wait while you get the calculator
If you have already had your birthday this year add 1756
If you haven’t, add 1755
Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number (how many
times you want to have chocolate a week)
The next two numbers are - - - -
YOUR AGE.
This is the only year 2006 that it will ever work, so spread
it around in what is left of 2006.
<><><><> Clever one isn’t it? Thanks June for sharing this.
A short joke - - -
There’s a bloke who fell into an upholstering machine.
He received minor injuries, but he’s fully recovered.
<><><><><>
A pastor and a taxi driver both died and went to heaven. St. Peter was at the Pearly gates waiting for them.
'Come with me', said St. Peter to the taxi driver.
The taxi driver did as he was told and followed St. Peter to a mansion. It had anything you could imagine from a bowling alley to an olympic size pool.
'Wow, thank you', said the taxi driver.
Next, St. Peter led the pastor to a rugged old shack with a bunk bed and a little old television set.
'Wait, I think you are a little mixed up', said the pastor. 'Shouldn't I be the one who gets the mansion? After all I was a pastor, went to church every day, and preached God's word.'
'Yes, that's true. But during your sermons people slept. When the taxi driver drove, everyone prayed.'

Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage
the man speaks and the wife listens.
In the second year, the wife speaks and the husband listens.
In the third year, they both speak and the neighbors listen.
<><><><>
After a quarrel, a wife said to her husband, “You know, I was a fool when I married you.” And the husband replied, “Yes dear,
but I was in love and didn’t notice it.”
<><><><>
A perfect wife is one who helps her husband with the dishes.
<><><><>
When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing : either the car or the wife is new.
<><><><>
How do most men define marriage?
A very expensive way to get your laundry done for free.
<><><><>
The lawyer cabled his client overseas. “Your mother-in-law passed away in her sleep. Shall we order burial, embalming or cremation? Back came the reply, “Take no chances –order all three.”
<><><><> A few quotes - - -
Let there be spaces in your togetherness. And let the winds
of the heavens dance between you. - - - Kahlil Gibran.
Four things I’d have been better without : love, curiosity, freckles and doubt. - - - Dorothy Parker.
Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. - - - Franklin P. Jones.
A baby is born with a need to be loved – and never outgrows it.
- - - Frank A. Clark.
A happy home is one in which each spouse grants the possibility
that the other may be right, though neither believes it.
- - - Don Fraser.
Well, must away, lots to do. I wish you all a wonderful
Christmas with family and friends and may you all have a
very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year in 2007.
Take care and enjoy yourselves. Cheers, Merle.
