Blind Girl.

Post 114 - - - - - Tuesday, 16 th January, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ Another darn hot day here, close to 40C and more ahead of us.
I hope you are all doing well and the weather not too cold, or too hot for you.
I am so glad that some of you enjoyed the story of the Marine and the nurse as I
thought it was a lovely story. I have another tonight sent to me from the same friend.

It is shorter, but I hope you like it. Thank you again, Linda.

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind.
She hated everyone . . . except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her.

She said that is she could only see the world ....she would marry her boyfriend.
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything ...
including her boyfriend .....

Her boyfriend asked her ... "now that you can see the world ... will you marry me??"
The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too .... and refused
to marry him !!

Her boyfriend walked away in tears ... later he wrote her a letter ... but all he said was .... "Just take care of my eyes dear. ..."

This is how the human brain changes when our status changes.
Only a few remember what life was like before ... and who's always been there in
the most painful situations.

<><><><> Now for some jokes - - - Thanks for these Robyn .

The lighter side of aging !!!

A distraught senior citizen phoned her doctor's office. "Is it true," she wanted to know, "that the medication you prescribed has to be taken for the rest of my life?"
"Yes, I'm afraid so," the doctor told her.
There was a moment of silence befor the senior lady replied,

"I'm wondering, then, just how serious is my condition because this prescription is marked ' NO REPEATS' ."

<><><>

An older gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation.
As he was about to get the anesthesia he asked to speak to his son.

"Yes Dad, what is it?"
"Don't be nervous. son; do your best and just remember, if it doesn't go well,
if something happens to me . . . your mother is going to come and live with you and your wife."
<><><>

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.
<><><>

Some people try to turn back their odometers.
Not me, I want people to know "why" I look this way.
I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

<><><>

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.
<><><>

I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.
<><><>

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice
change from being young.
<><><>

Ah, being young is beautiful,
but being old is comfortable.
<><><>

Old age is when former classmates are so gray and wrinkled and bald,
they don't recognize you.
<><><>

If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything
to laugh at when you are old.
<><><>

First you forget names, then you forget faces.
Then you forget to pull up your zipper.
It's worse when you forget to pull it down.
<><><>

Even worse, you feel technically savvy because you know how to cut and paste
this e-mail into a new one - and then you can't remember who sent it to you, so
you resend it back to them !
<><><>

Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder, and your hand over my mouth.

<><><><>

And a few quotes - - -

Everyone journeys through character as well as through time. The person one becomes depends on the person one has been. -- - Dick Francis.

You can tell more about a person by what he says about others than you can by
what others say about him. - - - Leo Aikman.

The best discipline, maybe the only discipline that really works is self-discipline.
- - - - Walter Kiechel III

I see God in every human being. - - - Mother Teresa.

An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in.
A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. - - - Bill Vaughan.

I always prefer tro believe the best of everybody --- it saves so much trouble.

<><><>

Bye for now folks, back tomorrow, all being well. Cheers, Merle.

YES!!! I did enjoy the Marine and nurse story. Tears flowed. But it said so much to anyone who has lived....right?

And today, the older themed jokes are definitely something I relate to. Each of them.

Happy day Merle.

I think my favorite one today was, "Lord, Keep your arm around my shoulder, and your hand over my mouth." I'll remember that one.

Hi, Merle, I like the surgeon story. That's a good reason for him to quake in his boots.

Please give Peter a message for me: I tried to get into his site today, but it got hung up and wouldn't load all the way. I had to shut down and reboot. I don't know if it is a problem with my computer - or something in his site - but it has happened quite a bit lately. I just want him to know why he wasn't getting comments from me.
