Dancing with God.

Post 143 - - - - - - Saturday, 17 th February, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope all is well at your place and that you have a great weekend.
Mine is half over as it is Saturday night and it has been a hot day about 34 C which is
in the high 90 s F. My son and his wife arrived last night as planned and we enjoyed our turkey dinner etc. and spent the evening catching up on the news.

John called this morning to say hello to them and then rode off on his motor bike, and he is safely home now. Only a day trip this time.
After we had some breakfast, Geoff got stuck into the garden, weeded, straightened out the garden edges, fixed
bits of the sprinkler system, and planted some more geraniums for me. A lot of hard work. Jo trimmed the stray bits from my wisteria; it like to wander and I am always trimming it, but Jo is taller than i am. (I think everybody is !!) She also weeded, swept paths, and raked, so I have a very tidy garden and a full Green Waste Bin.

It was so hot, but they kept going, in spite of me trying to stop them. Anyway after all that and Geoff had a shower, we had a nice dinner of corned beef and vegies, followed by icecream. And lots and lots of cold drinks, water and orange juice mostly.
Needless to say, I am most grateful for all their work and help with things that I
cannot do myself, and they wouldn't take any money for their efforts. After they left, I checked my e mails, then promptly went to sleep !! This darn supervising is so
tiring !! Better get on with it - - -

This item was sent to me today by my dear friend Jeanette and I liked it and hope you enjoy it also. Many thanks Jan. It is called "Dancing with God."

Dancing with God.

When I meditated on the word Guidance,

I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a bit like dancing,

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
Both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if the two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
And attentiveness from one person
And gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.

When I saw "G" I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I"

"God, "U" and "I" dance.

God, you and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
That I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
And mercies be upon you on this day and every day.
May you abide in God as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
And to guide you though each season of your life.

Prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.
There is no cost but many rewards;
So let's continue to pray for one another.

I hope you DANCE !!!!!

Now for some jokes - - -

A group of girlfriends is on vacation when thery see a 5-story hotel with a sign that
reads, "For Women Only." Since they are without their boyfriends and husbands
they decide to go in.

The bouncer, a very attractive guy, explains to them how it works. "We have 5 floors. Go up floor by floor, and once you find what you are looking for, you can
stay there. It's easy to decide since each floor has a sign telling you what's inside.

They start going up and on the first floor the sign reads, "All the men on this floor
are short and plain." The friends laugh and without hesitation move on to the next.

The sign on the second floor reads, " All the men are here are short and handsome."
Still, this isn't good enough, so the friends continue up.

They reach the third floor and the sign reads, " All the men here are tall and plain."
They still want to do better, and so, knowing there are still 2 floors, up they go.

On the fourth floor the sign is perfect,"All the men here are tall and handsome."
The women get all excited and are about to go in when they relize that there is still
one floor left.
Wondering what they would be missing, they head up to the fifth floor.

On the fifth floor they find a sign that reads, "There are no men here. This floor was
only built to prove that there is no way to please a woman !!

During the wedding rehearsal, the groom approached the vicar with an unusual
offer. "Look, Vicar, I'll give you $100 if you'll change the wedding vows. When you get to me and the part where I'm to promise to 'love, honor and obey' and 'forsaking
all others, be faithful to her forever,' I'd appreciate it if you just leave that part out.

He passed the clergyman the cash and walked away satisfied.

The wedding day arrives, and the bride and groom have moved to that part of the ceremony where the vows are exchanged. When it comes time for the groom's vows,
the vicar looks the young man in the eye and says, "Will you promise to prostrate
yourself before her, obey her every command and wish, serve her breakfast in bed
every morning of your life and swear eternally before God and your lovely wife that
you will not ever even look at another woman, as long as you both shall live?"

The groom gulped and looked around, and said in a tiny voice, "Yes."

The groom leaned toward the vicar and hissed, "I thought we had a deal."

The vicar put the $100 note into his hand and whispered back, " Se made me a
much better offer.

Two small boys, not yet old enoughh to be in school, were overheard talking at the zoo one day.
"My name's Bobby. What's yours?" asked the first boy.

"Danny," replied the second. "My Daddy's an accountant. What does your Daddy
do for a living?"

Bobby replied, " My Daddy's a lawyer." "Honest?" asked Danny.

"No, just the regular kind," replied Bobby.
