A Happy Home.

Post 131 - - - - - Saturday, 3 rd February, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope you are all managing to stay warm or cool whatever the case
may be. It is definitely the latter here, with a very hot day again. About 40 C and my friend Jeanette had 43 C and she only lives an hour or so away from me. Tomorrow
is going to be another
as well. So it will be a day indoors for us. 40C is about 102 F.
As last night's post was so long, I plan to make tonight's post much shorter.

I found this little verse in The Friendship Book,
It tells of an elderly man recalling an old scroll that hung in his mother's home.

The house is small, but human hearts are there,
And for today at least, beneath your care.
Someone is sad ? Then speak a word of cheer.
Someone is lonely ? Make him welcome here.
Someone has failed ? Protect him from despair.
Someone is poor ? There's something you can spare.
Your own heart's sorrow mention but in prayer,
And carry sunshine with you everywhere.

Time for some jokes - - - -
Envelopes.

Morris had just been hired as the CEO of a high tech corporation. The CEO who was
stepping down met with him privately and presented him 3 envelopes, number 1.2.3.

"Open these if you run up against a problem you don't think you can solve," the
departing CEO said.

Things went along smoothly, but six months later, sales took a downturn and Morris
was really catching a lot of heat. About at his wit's end, he remembered the envelopes

The message read, "Blame your predecessor."

Morris called a press conference and tactfully laid the blame at the feet of the previous CEO. Satisfied with his comments, the press --and Wall Street --responded
positively, sales egan to pick up and the problem was soon behind him.

About a year later, the company was again experiencing a slght dip in sales, combined
with serious product problems. Having learned from his previous experience, the CEO quickly opened the second envelope.

The message read, "Reorganize."
This he did, and the company quickly rebounded.

After several consecutive profitable quarters, the company once again fell on difficult
times. Morris went to his office, closed the door and opened the third envelope.

The message read, "Prepare three envelopes."

What would you do?
You are driving along in your car on a wild stormy night. You pass a bus stop, and you see three peole waiting for te bus.
1. An old lady who looks as id she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man or woman you have been dreaming about. Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing there could only be one passenger in your car.

You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect cance to pay him back.

However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.

The candidate who was hired, (out of 200) had no trouble coming up with his answer. What did he say???

He simply answered, "I would give the car keys to my old friend, and let him take the old lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams."

Bye now my friends, time for bed. Take great care and be happy. Cheers, Merle.

It's a very pleasant day up here today...kookaburras are laughing (probably at me!), one cat is sleeping up on the roof and the other in the shade just outside the back door. Almost a perfect Sunday!

heeheehee! There are some really good foreign signs around. Enjoyed the "What would you do" - a psychological test for lateral thinking.

Hope it's not too hot for you Merle, I hear the temperatures have been heading skywards down your way.

It's just the normal sultry and sticky here...with no rain!

Hugs xoxo
