How to Stay Young.

Post 129 -- - - - - Thursday, 1st February, 2007.

Hi Everybody ~~ I hope you have had a good day or are about to have a good day.
Mine has not been wonderful, healthwise but I feel better tonight. Or I did until I
tried to read and comment etc and found that Blogger is cranky again. I especially
wanted to comment on my friend Margaret 's blog, but no can do. Anyway, dear

Margaret when you get back on line and if you happen to read this, please know that I am thinking of you. Please come back to blogging, when you can as you would be missed badly, and also I believe it is good for you.

This first item was posted on my friend Dixie 's blog. It is called
"How to stay young" Seems to be what we are all striving for !!

Try everything twice. On Madam's tombstone (of Whelan and Madam) she said she
wanted this epitaph : Tried everything twice... loved it both times.

Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.(keep this in mind if you
are one of those grouches.)

Keep learning :Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening or whatever. Never
let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is
Alzheimers !!

Enjoy the simple things.

Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend
who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with him/her.

The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive.

Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it is family, pets, keepsakes, music,
plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to te mall, even to the next county, to a foreign
country, but NOT to where guilt is.

Tell the people you love that you love them at every opportunity.

Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second chance.

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.

John Lennon's line -- "Life is what happens while you're making other plans."

Some other bits and pieces ------

Action : Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the lion or it will be killed.... every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion
or a gazelle .... when the sun comes up, you'd better be running. -- Anonymous.

Attitude : It's our attitude in life that determines life's attitude toward us.
--- Earl Nightingale.

Balance : Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter
least. - - - Van Goethe.

Belief : The only thing that stands between a person and what they want from life is often the will to try it and the faith to believe it is possible. - - Rich Devos.

Challenges : Kites rise highest against the wind ... not with it. --Winston Churchill.

Commitment : The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there. - - - Anonymous.

Courage : Courage is the door that can only be opened from the inside.--Terry Neil.

Discipline : To get what we've never had, we must do what we've never done. - -Anon.

Excellence : It is a funny thing about life: if you refuse to accept anything but the
best, you very often get it. ------Somerset Maugham.

Failure : Failures are divided into two classes -- those who thought and never did and
those who did and never thought. ___ John Charles Sak.

Habits : We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then is not an act, but a habit.
- - - - Aristotle.

Integrity : Wisdom is knowing the right path to take .... Integrity is taking it.
- - M. H. McKee.

Knowlege : Knowledge is like climbing a mountain; the higher you reach, the more you can see and appreciate. - - - Anonymous.

Passion : Many things will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart.
PURSUE THOSE. - - - Anonymous.

Perseveance : In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream
always wins ... not through strength but by perseverance.-- H. Jackson Brown.

Responsibility : EXCUSES are the nails used to build a huse of failure,--Don Wilder.

Risk : You will always miss 100% of the shots you don't take. - -Wayne Gretzky.

Service : It is one of the greatest compensations in life that no one can help another
without helping themselves. --- Ralph Waldo Emerson.'

Just a couple of jokes - - - -

Wives are wives.
A woman wanted to reach her husband on is mobile phone but discovered that she was out of credit. She instructed her son to use his own phone to pass across an urgent message to hisDaddy who was on site. After junior had called, he got back to mummy to inform her that there was a lady that picked up Daddy's phone the three times he tried reaching Dad on the mobile.

Women !! She waited impatiently for her husband to return from woek and upon seeing him in the driveway, she rushed out and gave him a slap, and then she slapped him again, for good measure.

People from the neighborhood rushed around to find out the cause of the commotion was. The woman asked Junior to tell everybody what the lady had said to him when he called.

Junior said, : The subscriber you have dialed is not available at present. Please try
again later."

Sweet Reply ?
Dear Sweetheart - - I can't send my salary this month, so I am sending 100 kisses.
You are my sweetheart. Your husband, Allen.

His wife replied back after some days, to her husband :
Dearest Sweetheart, Thanks for your 100 kisses. I am sending the expenses details.
1. The milk man agreed on 2 kisses for one month's milk.
2. The Electricty man only agreed after 7 kisses.
3. Your house owner is coming every day and taking two or three kisses instead of
the rent.
4. Supermarket owner did not accept kisses only, so I have given him some other
items.....
5. Other expenses 40 kisses.
Please don't worry about me, I have a remaining balance of 35 kisses and I hope I can
complete the month using this balance.
Shall I plan the same way for the next few months? Please advise !! Your sweetheart.

A bear walks into a bar and says to the bartender : "I would
like a
bourbon and . . . . . . a Coke."
The bartender sas : "What's up with the big pause?"
The bear replies : "I've had them all my life."

Bye now folks, stay well and happy. Be kind to each other. Cheers, Merle.

I don't know what's going on with all the Blogger problems, but I've run into a lot of people having problems when I've tried to comment. Some sites have been down altogether. Frustrating times. Take care my dear friend...stay well and wonderful...

Hi Merle -- you always have something for me! Not those kisses though, just nice or funny or entertaining or educational words.

I tried Margaret too but I couldn't make a comment, Blogger wouldn't let me. Nine others did somehow.

"Balance : Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter
least. - - - Van Goethe." reminds me of an astronaut, I who said when asked what his thoughts were when he was going into obrbit, "I keep on remembering that my life is in the hands of the lowest bidder."
I think it was Young, I was one of those NASA contractors at the time.
