Should be in all schools.

Post 171 - - - - Thursday, 22 nd March, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ I hope all is well with you. Peter and I have enjoyed the few days
together and he has installed a few programs etc into my computer. Also installed
a new printer, copier and scanner (3 in one) for me. Had two cousins and their wives
visit us for an evening meal and much joviality and talking etc. Also John has been around a few times. My other son Geoff sent the first item to me.

This should be posted in all schools .

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!

To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they
did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good,
politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no
concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the
real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will
expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You
won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called
it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine
about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are
now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and
listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you
save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try
delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life
HAS NOT.... In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll
give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't
bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off
and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do
that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually
have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you can read this - Thank a teacher!

Employees Performance Evaluations.

For everyone who who has ever had an evaluation - - just remember, it could
have been worse. These are actual quotes taken from Federal Government Files
performance evaluatins.

1. Since my last report, this employee has reached rock-bottom and has started to dig.

2. I would not allow this employee to breed.

3. This employee is really not as much of a has-been, but more of a definite won't-be.

4. Works well when under constant supervision and cornered like a rat in a cage.

5. When he opens his mouth, it seems that it is only to change feet.

6. This young lady has delusions of adequacy.

7. He sets low personal standards and then consistently fails to achieve them.

8. This employee is depriving a village somewhere of an idiot.

9. This employee should go far, and the sooner he starts the better.

10. Got a full 6-pack, but lacks the plastic thingy to hold it all together.

11. A gross ignoramus -- 144 times worse than an ordinary ignoramus.

12. He doesn't have ulcers, but he's a carrier.

14. I would like to go hunting with him sometime.

15. He's been working with glue too much.

16. He would argue with a sign- post.

17. He brings a lot of joy whenever he leaves the room.

18. When his IQ reches 50, he should sell.

19. If you see two people talking and one looks bored, he's the other one.

20. A photographic memory but with the lens cover glued on.

21. A prime candidate for natural de-selection.

22. Donated his brain to science before he was done using it.

23. Gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming.

24. He has got two brain cells, one is lost and the other is out looking for it.

25. If he was any more stupid, he'd have to be watered twice a week.

26. If you give him a penny for his thoughts, you'd get change.

27. If you stand close enough to him, you can hear the ocean.

28. It's hard to believe he beat out 1,000,000 other sperm.

29. One neuron short of a synapse.

30. Some drink from the fountain of knowledge; he only gargled.

31. Takes him 2 hours to watch 60 minutes.

32. The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.

I won't try to do more tonight, as it is Peter's last night here before he heads for home -
arriving hopefully by Saturday night. As always, I ave enjoyed catching up with him
again and we had some very late nights talking. But then, we usually do late very late
nights, and then not very early mornings. Seems to work for us.

Take care my friends, until next time. Enjoy your lives. Love to all, Merle.

I hope you will not mind ,we are at opposite sides after all ie antipodean, but I have copied todays bits and propose plagiarisation. That is I shall use them in one of my newsletters bit at a time. Imitation is in this case a sincere form of flattery, your blog gives me a lot of pleasure. Best wishes.
