To Those Who See.

Post 173 - - - - - - Saturday, 24 th March, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I am happy to say that my brother Peter is safely home again after
a month of travelling all over this country of ours. He was pretty tired when he arrived but a good sleep will help a lot. He has a couple of days to get things sorted
out at home before he has his eye surgery on Tuesday. I very much enjoyed his visit
and learnt a few new things, which I hope I will remember. I have tried to post a
photo of the two of us the last two nights, but when I put the number of the photo
I am told, "can't find it." Back to the drawing board !! I will name it tomorrow and try again. Peter will post one anyway, so all is not lost !!

Tonight I have a short poem written by Gwen Frostic and posted on a blog
belonging to clairesgarden. and sent to me by Granny. Thanks to all three.

To those who see
bare branches -
and know they hold the buds of spring.
To those who see
stars falling in the heavens --
and know the constellations will remain forever.
To those who see
long lines of geese fade far beyond --
and know they will come back again to nest.
To those who see
with wonder in their hearts --
and know-- what glories there can be
For those who see . . . .

Love Poem - - - or is it?

1. The more I think of you, the more I
2. Love you; I cannot see how anyone could
3. Hate you. You have been to me an
4. honest, faithful friend, and I hope my love is not an
5. Object of a contempt. It is true that once I said
6. I would never marry, but that was before
7. I loved you. That assertion you know was
8. uttered in a bragging manner, in fact not but
9. a lie, and I do not know why I made it. If I
10. could even pluck up enough courage to
11. offer you my hand I know very well you
12. would be surprised and I doubt if you
13. would accept it. I do not think I would
14. listen to a refusal from your lips and
15. thus make my whole life miserable. To die
16. without ever expressing my love for you
17. would be preferable to that. If you write to me
18. I shall be happy, but if you do not
19. I shall be miserable and gloomy, your letters
20. are a source of pleasure and a failure to get them
21. always makes me feel like committing suicide.

Now read the poem again . . . but only the odd numbered lines.

You can make more friends in a month by being interested in them than in ten
years by tryng to get them interested in you. - - - Charles L. Allen.

You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point
of view. - - - - Harper Lee.

One of the screts of a long fruitful life is to forgive everybody, everything every
night before you go to bed.

Some people will believe anything if it is whispered to them. --Pierre de Marivauz

Well, sleep beckons, so goodbye for now. Take care my friends. Love, Merle.

G'Day Merle,
I had some reading to do here. ISP problems have prevented me from visits and postings. I hope it is fixed now. Time will tell.
I am glad you had a wonderful visit with Peter!
#170- I loved the Julie Andrew song that was fabulous. I caught myself singin it. What fun! The Hallmark cards were great as well.
#171- Great post! I enjoyed seeing my chalkboard there. I should make some more of them.
#172- Wonderful post! You know I am a quote hound and there are very few quotes I have not seen. I had never read the Danny Kaye quote and I really liked that one.
#173- I hope you get your picture posted. I know I had a lot of trouble when I first began trying to post pictures. I haven't been to Peter's place yet. I hope to find a pic there. I hope my isp does not fail before I get through all the blogs I am catching up on.
I enjoyed my visit here today.
Thank you!
Take care,
Huggles and Love,
Raggedy
