If Only.

Post 188 - - - - - - Thursday, 19th April, 2007.

Hi Everybody ~~ Thanks for your comments about Breakfast at
McDonalds. I thought it was a good story. I hope all is well with you
and yours. I have been busy cooking today. I made a huge casserole
in the crockpot and did heaps of vegetables, so all set for quite a while.
I am late starting tonight so will get on with it.

Tonight I have an item called "If Only" sent by my friend Warren.
Thanks Warren !!

If only I could hear your laughter and touch your pale face.

If only I could look into your blue eyes and touch your blondish
brown hair again.

If only I could feel your little hand wipe away the tears from my
eyes again.

If only I was a little white dove, I would join you in that beautiful
place called Heaven.

If only I could hear that whisper in my ear, "Grandma, I love you"
I'm now your Guardian Angel.

If only the Stars, Moon and Darkness can show me your beautiful
promised land.

If only I could hear your voice in the breeze and see your face in the
clouds. I would rejoice to know you're near.

If only those Memories we shared will never fade or will never be
forgotten.

If only this heartache, that I carry will someday subside.

I guess someday when we meet at Heaven's Gates for eternity.

A Kentucky horse breeder had a filly that won every race in which
she was entered. But as she got older, she became very
temperamental. He soon found that when he raced her in the
evening, she would win well, but when she raced during the day
she would come in dead last. He finally had to give up because
he decided the horse was a real night mare.

Farmer Joe decided his injuries from the accident were serious
enough to take the trucking company responsible to court.

In court the trucking company's fancy lawyer was questioning
farmer Joe. "Didn't you say, at he scene of the accident, "I'm fine?"

Farmer Joe responded, "Well, I'll tell tou what hapened. I had just
loaded my favorite mule Bessie into the . . . . ."

"I didn't ask for details," the lawyer said, "just answer the question.
Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine !' "

Farmer Joe said, " Well I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I
was driving down the road . . ."

The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Judge, I am trying to establish
the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway
Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine. Now several weeks after
the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please
tell him to simply answer the question."

By this time the Judge was fairly interested in Farmer Joe's answer and
said to the lawyer, "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite
mule Bessis."

Joe thanked the Judge and proceeded, "Well, as I was saying, I had just
loaded Bessie into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when
this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck
right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was was thrown
into the other. I was hurting real bad and didn't want to move. However,
I could hear Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape
just by her groans. Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came
on the scene. After he looked at her, he took out his gun and shot her
between the eyes. Then the Patrolman came across the road with his gun in
his hand and looked at me. He said, " Your mule was in such bad shape I
had to shoot her - - how are you feeling ?" "I'm fine !!"

A new pastor moved into town and went out one Saturday
to visit his parishioners. All went well until he came to one
house. It was obvious that someone was home, but no one
came to the door after he knocked several times.

Finally he took his card, wrote on the back "Revelation 3:20"
and stuck it in the door.

The next day, as he was counting the offering, he found his
card in the collection plate. Below his message, was a notation
"Genesis 3:10"

Revelation 3:20 reads : Behold I stand at the door and knock.
If any man hear my voice, and opens the door, I will come in
to him, and will dine with him, and he will with me."

Genesis 3"10 reads: "And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden,
and I was afraid because I was naked."

There is nothing like walking to get the feel of the country. A fine
landscape is like a piece of music; it must be taken at the right tempo.
Even a bicycle goes too fast.- - - -Paul Scott Mowrer.

One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good
poem, see a fine picture and, if possible, speak a few reasonable
words. - - - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

When things are bad, we take comfort in the thought that they
could always be worse. And when they are, we find hope in the
thought that things are so bad they have to get better.
