Keep in Touch.

Post 182 - - - - - Tuesday, 3 rd April, 2007.

G'day Everyone ~~ Oops, I did I again !! The photo, I mean and all by
myself !! This is my dear cousin Michelle who I am going to stay with for
a few days over Easter. This was taken a few years ago at her house that
she moved from to Bacchus Marsh. Michelle is quite a few years
younger than me.

We do a weekly crossword in the Newspaper every Saturday and check
with each other if we have all the answers. We are successful most weeks,
where one can't think of the word, the other usually can.
Our mothers were sisters and Michelle has a beautiful grandchild who
will be a year old on my birthday in May.

Today has been my shopping day and we had a successful trip to the
shops, although I did not get too much food today, but some other
things got done. Another lovely day, just great weather lately.

My friend, Kim sent me the first poem reminding us to keep in touch
with the ones we love. I hope you enjoy it.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friend's face,
For life is a swift and terrible race.

He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell,
And he rang mine, we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow" I say ! "I will call on Jim."
"Just to show I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows,
Around the corner ! yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir." "Jim died today."

And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around a corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always say what you mean.

Don't be afraid to express yourself.

Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.

Because when you decide that it is the right time, it might be too late.

Seize the day. Never have regrets.

And most importantly, stay close to your family and friends, for they
have helped make you the person that you are today.

A country preacher decided to skip services one Sunday and headed to
the hills to do some bear hunting. As he rounded the corner on a
perilous twist in the trail, he and a bear collided, sending him and his
rifle tumbling down the mountain-side.

Before he knew it, his rifle went one way and he went the other, landing
on a rock and breaking both legs. That was the Good news.

The Bad news was the ferocious bear was charging at him from a distance
and he couldn't move.

"Oh, Lord," the preacher prayed, "I'm so sorry for skipping services today
to come out here to hunt. Please forgive me and grant me just one wish :
Please make a Christian out of that bear that's coming at me."

That very instant the bear skidded to a halt, fell to it's knees, clasped it's
paws together and began to pray aloud right at the preacher's feet :

"Dear God, bless this food I am about to receive !!"

Some questions we ask . . . . .

Is it good if a vacuum cleaner sucks ?

Why is the third hand on a watch called the second hand ?

If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever knor ?

Why do we say something is out of whack ? What is whack ?

Why does "slow down" and "slow up" mean the same thing ?

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean the same thing ?

Why do 'tug' boats push their barges ?

Why do we sing "Take me out to the ball game" when we are already
there.

Why are they called "stands" when they are made for sitting ?

Why is it called "after dark" when it is really "after light"?

Doesn't "expecting the unexpected" make the unexpected expected ?

Why are a 'wise man' and a 'wise guy' opposites?

Why do ' overlook' and 'oversee' mean opposite things ?

Why is phonics not spelled the way it sounds ?

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it ?

If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting ?

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular ?

If you are cross-eyed and have dyslexia, can you read all right ?

Why is bra singular and panties plural ?

Down in the south, there are many churches known as "answer back"
churches. When the preacher says something, the congregation replies.

One Sunday, a preacher was speaking on what it would take for the church
to become better. He said, "If this church is to become better, it must take
up it's bed and walk."
The congregation said, "let it walk, Preacher, let it walk."

Encouraged by their response, he went further. "If this church is to
become better, it will have to throw aside it's hindrances and run !"
The congregation replied, "Let it run, Preacher, let it run!"

Now, really into his message, he spoke stronger. "If this church really
wants to become great, it will have to take up it's wings and fly !"
The congregation replied, "Let it fly, Preacher, let it fly !"

The Preacher gets louder, "If this church is going to fly, it will cost money!"

The congregation replied, "Let it walk, Preacher, let it walk !!"

I too hope that you have an enjoyable trip. My sister and I do two crosswords over each weekend - the general knowledge ones in the Telegraph , and then take it in turns to ring and compare notes. One is usually better at Saturday's and Me at Sunday's.

I just pop by to say hello and now I have to congratulate you with posting your photo ! I am sure from now on you will do it more ! It's very easy (when you know of course !) It was the same for me with learning how to change a background ! And I did it all alone ! I just created a Test blog which is not for public eyes and there I tried and tried and finally it worked !
Isn't Internet a great invention ? When I think in 1971 there was not even a telephone connection from Belgium to Australia ! I know it so well because the son of my friend (17 yrs) disappeared there and the poor mother couldn't find him even through the Belgian Embassy. Very very difficult. And now I sit here and scroll through your blog, can see how your living room looks like and see your pictures ! Isn't that wonderful ?

Good for you on the photo - maybe one day I'll learn to do that myself. I may have mentioned this to you but two of my 'grands' were born in May - the 6th and 7th and my younger daughter was born on the 21st. ec

Thank you Raggedy for the above notice, but I have now deleted the post that was in the wrong place. I
used some of it from Draft and so it posted at the date I put it in Draft.
I am surprised you found it. Thanks
anyway. Merle.

Whack is what you do to something to get it back "into whack". It may be an American idiom; I'm not sure.

Love the preacher and the bear.

Generic Viagra (sildenafil citrate; brand names include: Aphrodil / Edegra / Erasmo / Penegra / Revatio / Supra / Zwagra) is an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction regardless of the cause or duration of the problem or the age of the patient.
Sildenafil Citrate is the active ingredient used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. It can help men who have erectile dysfunction get and sustain an erection when they are sexually excited.
Generic Viagra 50mg pills is manufactured in accordance with World Health Organization standards and guidelines (WHO-GMP). Also you can find on our sites.
Generic Viagra is made with thorough reverse engineering for the sildenafil citrate molecule - a totally different process of making sildenafil and its reaction. That is why it takes effect in 15 minutes compared to other drugs which take 30-40 minutes to take effect.

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
