Love is a Wonderful Word.

Post 276 - - - - Friday, 3rd August, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I am late starting tonight, because John called
in and showed me how to download music from an Old Songs
site from the 50 s and 60 s. So I have been playing around with
that. Now if he can find a site with old time Country songs !!!

I hope all is well with you and that you will have a great weekend.
Ours is almost here, and it looks like being a very cold one.

One of these days, I am going to run out of photos, but here are
tonight's offerings. - - -

My brother Peter gave me this Sketch of a Heron
on a piece of Slate. Heron is my surname.
The heron is a water bird.

Picture of a Strelitzia flower from my garden. It is also known
as Bird of Paradise. I love the way it blooms slowly, a little each day.

A vase of my Double Delight roses.

These lovely lilies grown in my next door neighbors garden.

Tonight's item is called "Love is a Wonderful Word. Hope you enjoy.

Love is a wonderful word. It's the kind of word that makes you feel warm
and tingly inside. Sometimes, love is all you need.

We all go through a stage in our life where you love someone and they
don't love you back and you're hurt; you're very hurt and you feel like
you just want to die because you cannot be with that person or just even
be close to them. The hardest thing is to see them love someone else.
But try to think back when you didn't even know that person or you
even hated that person.

Love is a great feeling, right? You will feel this way again; maybe not now,
maybe not later, but soon. After all the hurt is gone, you will love again
andeven stronger than before.

Remember there are so many guys in this world. Don't let one get you down
because it's not worth it and obviously they're not worth your time.

Love truly is a wonderful word, especially when you both share it. You
will find someone; just hold on and don't give up.

Now for a few jokes - - - -

The ace pickpocket of New York, male, married his counterpart, female
and they thought, " If we have any children, wow! They ought to
flourish in the business."

Well in due course a baby was born and after a while they noticed that
the little one's right hand was firmly closed and despite all normal
efforts to open it, it remained closed.

The doctor suggested a psychologist and when he saw the baby and heard
what they had to say, he took the little one and holding him gently with
one arm, he took his watch which was on a gold chain and swung it slowly
before the baby's eyes. Gradually the little one's eyes followed the watch
and then
the little hand opened and inside was the midwife's wedding ring.

Sarah : "Not really. You couldn't see much as the mountains kept getting in the way.

A man bought a hat and afterwards complained that when he put it on, he
could hear music. He mentioned it to his doctor who, deciding to humour
him, gave him the address of a psychiatrist. The man called and explained
his trouble, saying whenever he wore the hat he could hear a tune being played.

The psychiatrist took the hat and went into another room and, returning in
a few moments said, "Now try it on. "
The man did so and exclaimed : "Wonderful ! Music's gone! What did you do?"
Said the psychiatrist : "I merely removed the band !!"

The tax inspector received an income tax return from a
bachelor executive claiming a dependent son.. He thought this
was rather odd, so sent back the form with a note stating : "This
must be a typist's error."

Back came the form from the executive, together with a pencilled
marginal comment next to the inspector's saying : " You're
telling me !!"

And a few quotes - - - -

The densest forest began with the growth of a single tree.

However high a bird soars, it seeks it's food on earth- - - Danish proverb.

Faith grows as I do the simple things I know how to do.

The little bird sang as if it were the one day of Summer
in all the year. - - - L. M. Montgomery.

It is easier to catch flies with honey than with vinegar.
- - - - English proverb.

A crescent moon looks like one of nature's smiles turned
sideways.

My heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky.

Enough for tonight, folks. Have a happy weekend and a happy
life. Take care of yourselves and each other. Love and best
wishes to you all. Cheerio till next time, Merle.

You are becoming a computer whiz. I have yet to download anything. I let Puppy or Prince do that. I loved the ferns and wind chimes. A nice place to put you feet up and drink a cup of coffee or two or three. Maybe a whole pot.
I answered your question about diabetes on my blog.
Gotta keep walking.
Thanks for making me smile.
love and prayers

I love herons. We get some in our pond fairly often. The sketch is beautiful and then when I scrolled down and saw the bird of paridise, it looked like the head of the heron in the sketch! :o) Great quotes and thoughts too.

Nice pictures Merle. The Heron is very nice. And I do love your roses. Are they fragrant?
I found some of the old songs 50's etc., on a place called itunes. I was warned to be carefull when downloading music because sometimes there are virus's attached.

Those Double Delight roses are so beautiful. At first glance I thought they were Lisianthus.

the flower, 2nd down under the heron, looks like an exotic bird ... can you see it? ... or am i just barking as per usual ??!?

Hello dear Merle:-)

I so loved seeing more of your flowers...that Bird of Paradise is quite awesome, not a plant we see around here since it's considered an exotic and tropical plant. It's cooled down quite a bit here today, such a relief from that awful heat!! I just wouldn't make a good Australian! lol

So enjoyed your whole post...I laughed when it was discovered the baby had the midwife's ring in his hand! hehe

Have a wonderful weekend my friend! xoxo

Hi Merle,
I love the heron sketch on slate ... I have something similar, only mine is a squirrel ... it came from Germany.
I love that you are learning how to download music ... so cool.
I have a lot of country music, both old and new ... let me know who you like, and I will put some together for you, if you like !!
Regarding your question on my blog ... I do have a garden, but very low maintenance, and no flowers (only the occasional one in a pot). We grow very good weeds, too LOL.
Have a wonderful weekend, dear Merle ... looking forward to catching up.
Take care, hugs, Connie

Hi Merle,
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting - always happy to have a new visitor! I've seen you about in our blog community, but as you know, sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming trying to visit everybody, so I'm pleased we have finally touched base.
Your blog is great reading - lovely photos, humour and wisdom all blended in nicely! It must be all of 15 years since I was last in Shepparton - I was there for a weekend with the Victoria Police, conducting the Neighbourhood Watch Training program.
That music site sounds interesting. Although sometimes I think Ken and I could just about start up our own 50s/60s radio station with all the records and CDs we have of the music from that era. Let me know if there is something you want but can't find, and I'll see if we have it.
Sorry this is a tad long - I do tend to waffle on!
