Dancing With God.

Post 319 - - - - - - Sunday, 23rd September, 2007.

Hi My Friends ~~ The weekend is over in Australia and I hope
it has been a good one for you all, and the folks overseas enjoy
the rest of theirs. The weather has been pleasant which makes
life easier to take.

The photo tonight is just a scene from my daughter, Kathy's
place and shows a swing set that most of the kids are now too old
to use, and some lovely clouds. I have more photos of the farm,
but couldn't locate them tonight. Possibly still on my old
computer.

My brother Peter and his mate Warren are on a 2 week holiday
to Sydney and there-abouts. I hope they both have a wonderful
time and lots of fun and laughter. I have no doubt of the latter !!

I hope that Sydney is ready for them !!

Princetown, Victoria - - 5 hours from Shepparton.

First item tonight is from my friends, Sherrill and Ian. Thank you !!

Dancing with God.

When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing 'dance' at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing,
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and let's the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle clues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully,
The dance takes surrender, willingness and attentiveness from
one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance,
When I saw 'G', I thought of God, followed by 'u' and ' i
',
"God, "u" and " I" dance"
God, you and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies be upon you this day and everyday,
May you abide in God as God abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached.

If God has done anything for you in your life,
please share this message with someone else,
for prayer is one of the best gifts we can receive.
There is no cost but a lot of rewards.

So let us continue to pray for one another,
And I Hope You Dance.

Time for some jokes - - -

A mechanic was removing a cylinder-head from the motor of
a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well known cardiologist
in his shop.

The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to
come take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across
the garden, "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this ?"

The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the
mechanic was working on the motorcycle.

The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked,
"So, Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out,
repair any damage and then put them back in, and when I finish, it
works just like new. So how come, I make $39,675 a year and you
get a million, when we are doing basically the same work ?"

The cardiologist paused, smiled and leaned over, then whispered to
the mechanic "Try doing it with the engine running."

A guy walked into a tavern and sat down on a barstool. He ordered
a beer and a shot glass of whiskey. The bartender was surprised to
see him place the shot glass into the pocket of his overcoat. The
man proceeded to drink his beer, then reached into his coat pocket
and removed the shot glass, empty.

He ordered another beer and shot glass of whiskey, and again placed
the shot glass into his coat pocket. Again, he removed the glass
empty, then ordered another round.

Overcome by curiosity, the bartender asked the man why he kept
putting the shot glass into his pocket.

"Oh," he said, "that's for the Colonel."
"The Colonel? Who's the Colonel ?"

The man reached into his pocket and removed a little man, about
12 inches high, dressed in the uniform of a British army colonel.
He place the little man on the counter.
"Is he real ?" asked the bartender.

"Sure, he's real. Colonel, would you mind walking up and down
the bar a little way ?"
The little colonel marched briskly a few feet up the bar and turned
around, then marched back. "That's the most amazing thing I've
ever seen ! Can he talk too ?"

"Of course he can talk," said the man.
"Colonel, why don't you tell him about the time that you were
stationed in Africa and called that witch doctor a liar ?"

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment : Get your
parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it.
The next day, the kids came back and one by one began to tell
their stories.
"Tony, do you have a story to share ?"

"Yes ma'am, My Daddy told a story about my Aunt Karen. She
was a pilot in Desert Storm and her plane got hit. She had
to
bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a flask of
whiskey, a pistol and a survival knife. She drank the whiskey
on the way down so it wouldn't break and then her parachute
landed right in the middle of 20 enemy trrops.

"She shot 15 of them with the gun until she ran out of bullets,
killed four more with the knife until the blade broke, and then
she killed the last one with her bare hands."

"Good Heavens," said the horrified teacher. "What kind of moral
did your Daddy tell you from this horrible story ?"

"Stay the hell away from Aunt Karen when she's drinking !!"

A man was walking down the street when he was accosted by
a particularly dirty and shabby looking homeless man who
asked him for a couple of dollars for dinner.

The man took out his wallet, extracted $10 and asked, "If I give
you this money, will you buy beer instead of dinner ?"
"No, I had to give up drinking years ago," said the homeless man.

"Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food ?"
"No. I don't waste time fishing," said the homeless man, "I need
to spend all my time trying to stay alive."

"Will you spend it on greens fees at a golf course instead of food ?"
"Are you NUTS? I haven't played golf in 20 years.

"Will you spend it on a woman in a red light district, instead of food ?"
"What lousy disease would I get for 10 lousy bucks?" asked the home-
less man.

"Well, " said the man, "I am not going to give you the money. Instead
I am going to take you home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife."

The homeless man was astounded.
"Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that ?" I know I'm
dirty and I probably smell pretty disgusting."

The man replied, " That's okay. It's important for her to see
what a man looks like after he gives up beer, fishing, golf
and sex"

One Summer evening during a violent thunder storm a
mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn
off the light, when he asked with a tremor in his voice,
"Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight ?"

The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug.
"I can't, dear. I have to sleep in Daddy's room."

A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice,
"The big sissy !!"

Dear Merle,

I love this picture of the swing set. Sitting there all alone and abandoned, it tells a story of great childhood fun. When my boys stopped using theirs, I left it standing for about 4 years before I finally took it down. Whenever I would sit in the yard, I'd look over to the set and I could see them playing and hear their voices. And so it goes with Mama's..:)

Hi Merle, Kathy has a big sky over at her place. I'm very sorry but I clean forgot about a picture of the picture my mum has, I will have to tie a knot in something to remind me next time I go. Bob.

Dear Merle,

We know where to come to get our daily doses of cheer and encouragement. The Dancing with God poem is so very nice, and it reminds me, what I sometimes forget, to let God lead! The picture is lovely, with the puffy clouds, and the empty swing with its memories of providing much fun for the children.

I always enjoy my visits to your blog, dear Merle!

Warm regards,

Renie

Hello Merle! I think that you've mistakenly left a comment on my blog rather than my lovely friend Daffy's!

Sydney will never be ready for those two, Merle! Sydney should have left up the barricades from the Apec! ;)

Good morning Merle, 10/15/07
I don't see where there is a comment section under your post about your Fairy Garden. Just wanted to comment, it's such a lovely little garden. My brother has done up a section of his yard for his small Grandchildren and he calls it his Fairy Garden. They love it. Thanks for sharing the pretty photo of the flowers and etc.
