Black Eyed Son !!

Post 356 ~ ~ ~ ~ Sunday, 4th November, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~ ~ It has been quite a cold wet day here
and I love it. We have had more rain in November's 3 days
than for the last three months. I heard on the News that
the catchment areas got quite a good lot too, and it is such
a relief before it gets to the Summer fire danger.

I hope you are all doing well, and having a good weekend.
Geoff and Joanne came up for the day and John came to
see them. So I took a couple of photos of his face. It
shows the two places he had cancers removed, but this
last one caused his eye to blacken. I know I should have
cropped the photos but forgot until too late.

Geoff did some work in my garden and we all had a nice
day. As I am tired tonight, (this supervising is tiring !)
I will just post a few jokes. That seems to be the most
popular part of my posts.

A business executive had to make a speech at an important
meeting, attended by his business associates. He couldn't
think of anything interesting to talk bout, so in the end he
decided to talk about sex.

When he arrived home his wife asked how his speech had gone.
He replied that it had been a huge success.
"But, what did you talk about ?"
The man thought for a few seconds, then replied, "Oh, sailing."

The following week one of the man's business colleagues
approached the man's wife at a cocktail party and commented
"That was a marvellous speech your husband gave last week."

"I know," replied the wife. "It's amazing. He's only tried it
twice. The first time his hat blew off and the second time he
was sea-sick."

At a dinner avery pompous American woman was seated next
to a rabbi. Wishing to impress him, she said rather grandly,
"One of my ancestors sign the Declaration if Independence."

"Indeed ?" replied the rabbi. "One of mine wrote the
Ten Commandments."
<><><>

I always know that if I come back from the office to a
beautiful, welcoming wife, with a delicious meal and
fine wine on the table ~~ I'm in the wrong house.
<><><>

Two blokes are pushing their shopping trolleys around a
supermarket when they collide.

The first bloke says to the second bloke, "Sorry about
that. I'm looking for my wife and I guess I wasn't paying
attention to where I was going."

"That's OK." said the second bloke, It's a coincidence
because I am also looking for my wife. I can't find her
and I 'm getting a little desperate.

The first bloke saidm "Well, maybe we can help each
other. What does your wife look like ?"

The second bloke says, " Well, she's 26, 5 ft 11,
with blue eyes, big boobs, long legs and is wearing
tiny little shorts and a crop top. What does your
wife look like ?"

The first bloke says, "Doesn't matter, let's look
for yours !!"
<><><>

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Switzerland
asked the priest beside her, "Father, may I ask a favor ?"

"Of course. What may I do for you ?" asked the priest.
"Well.I bought an expensive hair dryer that is well over
the Customs Limits, and I'm afraid they will confiscate it.
Is there any way you could carry it through Customs for
me ? Under your robes perhaps.

"I would love to help you my dear, but I must warn you,
I will not lie."
"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."
When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of
her. The official asked, " Father, do you have anything to
declare ?"

"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing
to declare."
The official thought this answer strange, so he asked, "And
what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?"

"I have a marvellous little instrument designed to be used on
a woman, but which is, to date, unused."
Roaring with laughter. the official said, " Go ahead, Father!
Next !!"

One Quote tonight Love doesn't make the world go round;
Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.

Must get myself off to bed, I hope that the week ahead
will be a good one for all of us. Take care, my friends,
Be kind to each other. Love and best wishes to you all.
Cheers, Merle.

Hi Merle,

Oh, the pictures of your son are nice. The black eye isn't that visible. Hope he heals quickly. Sons are nice commodities, aren't they? I have two (a daughter as well) and they do so much to help me out with things I have a harder time doing.

I'm so glad you're getting rain. It is a worry when it stays dry for such a long time. We had a very dry summer, and since I live surrounded by woods, I worry about fires a lot. I'm so thankful when rain finally arrives.

Funny jokes. Loved the one about the pompous American woman and the rabbi. Oops, I almost wrote "rabbit" by mistake.

I always enjoy visiting here, Merle. Have a great Monday!

Warm regards,

Renie

Merle,

I do hope John's face heals quickly. I'm sure that it is uncomfortable.

I'm glad you're getting rain. Our water levels are still low here in Ontario but we are to get rain this week. We had rain last week, but not nearly enough. We need a good steady rain for about 3 or 4 days to bring water levels back to where they should be.

Blessings,
Mary

Glad you got some rain - wish we could as well but the weather people are not mentioning any for at least a week. I feel for John with the surgery, I only had one cut out so his was twice as bad. ec

Hi Merle, its a pity they didn't shave off those whiskers, who knows what is lurking in that thicket, say G'day for me.

Ouch! That looks painful.

Don't overdo that supervising, Merle.

Great to hear about the rain in Victoria. It started raining here in Hawaii overnight, and unlike the rest of the population here, it made me feel so happy! They've been having a dry spell here too.
