God. com. and Happy Birthday Connie.

Post 365 ~ ~ ~ Friday, 16th November, 2007.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope you are all doing well and the
week has been a good one for you. We are into Friday
night, so the weekend is with us in the morning. It has
been hot again today and looks as though we have a
week of heat ahead of us. No good growling.
Tomorrow, 17th is our friend, Connie (aka Meow)
has her birthday. I hope you have a wonderful day
Connie. Won't you please pop over to say Happy
Birthday to her? I had the pleasure of meeting her here
at my house in September. and she is a delightful lady.

Thank you all for your kind comments about Steve
Irwin. He actually died on the 4th September, last
year but the 15th November was declared the day we
remembered him. My brother Peter has a picture of
the statue of Steve, Terri and the children, I was
disappointed in it myself as I don't think it looks a lot
like Steve in particular. I have only seen it on TV.

Tonight I have an item sent to me a while ago by my
friend Margaret. It is called "God.com" Thank you
Margaret, nice one.

God.com
Dear Lord,

Every single evening
As I'm lying here in bed,
This tiny Prayer
Keeps running through my head;

God bless all my family
Wherever they may be,
Keep them warm and safe from harm
For they're so close to me.

And God, there is one more thing
I wish that you could do;
Hope you don't mind me asking,
Please bless my computer too.

Now I know that it's unusual
To Bless a motherboard,
But listen just a second
While I explain it to you, Lord.

You see, that little metal box
Holds more than odds and ends;
Inside those small compartments
Rest so many of my friends.

I know so much about them
By the kindness that they give,
And this little scrap of metal
Takes me in to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
Much the same as You.
We share in what life brings us
And from that our friendships grew.

Please take an extra minute
From your duties up above,
To bless those in my address book
That's filled with so much love.

Wherever this prayer may reach
To each and every friend,
Bless each e-mail inbox
And each person who hits "send."

When You update your Heavenly list
On your own Great CD-ROM,
Bless everyone who says this prayer
Send it up to GOD,com. Amen.

First joke is a bit weird ~~
Lizard Sickness.

One of my friends at work was talking to her five
year old grandson who lives in AZ.

The grandson was telling his grandmother about his
friend who had a lizard for a pet. He continued on
telling her that the lizard was dying.

When she asked how he knew it was dying, he told her
it was really sick. She then asked what the lizard was
sick with.

The little boy thought for a moment and said, I think
it has reptile dysfunction.

My friend Gwen sent me this one. Thanks Gwen.

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my shape to keep
Please no wrinkles. Please no bags.
And please lift my butt . . .Before it sags.
Please no age spots. Please no gray.
And as far as my belly . . Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy. Please keep me young.
And thank you, dear Lord. For all that you've done.

Nigel was distraught. He had received an anonymous phone
call at his office, telling him that his wife was having an
affair with a man who worked for a pest control company.

Nigel rushed home to discover a pest control van in his
driveway. He let himself into the house. There was no sign
of his wife. Then he walked up the stairs and heard sounds
of feverish activity.

Flinging open the door he saw his wife zipping up her dress.
"You're home earl, dear," said his wife. "I was just putting
on some clean clothes. The others got messed up when I was
showing the pest control man the attic.

"Where is he now ?" asked Nigel.
"I'm not too sure,: replied his wife.
Nigel looked around the bedroom and opened a cupboard.
Standing inside was a naked man.

"What is the meaning of this?" demanded Nigel.
"Well," said the naked man. " After looking for woodworm
in the loft I thought there might be aninfestation of moths
in the bedroom."

"Where are your clothes ?" asked Nigel.
The naked man looked down at himself, appeared to be
astonished, and exclaimed : "Those blasted moths must
have eaten them !!"

The prosecution lawyer was questioning the defendant.
"You took money from friends, relatives and work
colleagues telling them that you would invest it on their
behalf. Yet instead of investing it, you used it to live
the high life. How could you take money from people
who trusted you ?"

The defendant looked at the lawyer and said, "Isn't it
obvious ? Who else would give me money? People who
didn't trust me would be unlikely to give me any."

Her husband awoke from a deep sleep and said to her,
"Please turn off the TV and let's have a drink and go
to bed."
She replied, "I'm sorry dear, that's not possible. We're
still at the opera house.

The artist was amazed that his first exhibition at a major
gallery had been a sell-out.

"It's wonderful," said the artist to the gallery owner.
"What sort of people bought my work ?"
"Well," said the gallery owner, "initially, business was
very slow and in the first week we only sold one picture
to a man who tends to buy the cheapest painting in every
exhibition we put on.

He trusts our judgment and thinks the Art will prove to
be a long term investment. Then a man came in and asked
if you were prolific."
"did you tell him it takes me a long time to create each
painting ?" asked the artist.

"Yes," replied the gallery owner. "I said what was on display
was probably all the work you had completed for sale, and
there were only 50 to 100 other works which you had already
sold or given away.

He then asked if it was true that if an artist dies the value of
his work increases. I said that often happrns. He then pulled
out his credit card and bought all your unsold work."
"That's great ! said the artist. "Who was he ?"

The gallery own replied, "Your doctor."

When he arrived home looking tired and exhausted,
the judge sighed and told his wife, "It's been another
trying day."

Hi Merle (it's morning here)

I feel like I have been having that reptile dysfunction. This will be end of the second week that I've had this terrible cold. There is a new mutated cold virus making the rounds (10 have died, two in Texas) so far. I won't die unless I relapse. I wondered for a while, it laid me low.

Got to watch those pesk pest control people all the time. You might get an eyeful.

Cheers
..

Merle,

Congratulations on an entire year of posts.

Sorry I missed Steve Irwin Day. The grandsons and I loved his shows. We do watch some reruns and I hear his daughter wants to follow in his footsteps.

Enjoyed my visit, as always.

Blessings,
Mary

Dear Merle, thank you so much for the birthday wishes. You are such a sweetie. I have been so slack with remembering people's birthdays this year, it is embarrassing. I have a list of many of them, but time has been getting away from me.
Thank you again, dear Merle. It is people like yourself that make this whole blogging experience extra special.
Love and hugs to you, dear friend.

G'Day Merle,
I loved Steve too. I had a look at Peter's pictures of the statue, he must have4 gone to the event to get such good ones. We really lost something special when Steve died. Both for wildlife and for Australia.
It is hot here too, I mowed the lawn this morning and found out just how hot. I have been worried about snakes in the long grass as we saw quite a few eastern browns last season. It was supposed to get to 38 but I have not heard the final result as yet.
I am having take away chinese for tea tonight so I better go pick it up from the club. Bye Love Linda.
