Just a quick note.

Post 550 ~ ~ Monday, 29th December, 2008.

Dear Friends ~ ~ Just a short note to let you know that I am
safely home again. My daughter and son in law and one of my
granddaughters brought me home fairly late yesterday.

Today they went to visit old friends and neighbors where they used to live. It is ten pm and they are still not home. They leave in the morning and later my Home care lady comes.

Today I have caught up with laundry and reading 92 e mails, some of which get deleted, but I will get to you all in the next day or so. I do appreciate all your comments and kind thoughts.

Thank you all so very much for the lovely messages for Christmas, which was lovely with Kathy and her family. They
were all so kind, looking after me really well. I will post tomorrow, all being well.

My garden looks nice so John did some watering, and they had a day when it was 36C which is about 96 or 97 F. It was much cooler at Kathys. It was hot here all the time I was away.

WE have had a couple of deaths of close friends which is sad.
One of Kathy's bridesmaids lost her 51 year old husband to
cancer, which is too young. He leaves a heart-broken wife and
three children, who I hear are looking after their mother.

The other one was a school friend of Kathy's three daughters were in a car accident, with the middle daughter dying, the elder girl driving so she will feel terrible and she and the youngest are both in hospital I pray they will recover.

Will find a joke to finish with after that sad news ~ ~

A Barman serves a man. The man pays him for the drink and takes a handful of peanuts from the bowl, and then takes a seat at the bar. Several minutes elapse as the Barman goes about
cleaning some glasses with his back to the man. Out of the blue the man at the bar says "Thanks"

The Barman turns and says, "Thanks for what?"

"You just said, 'a nice shirt you're wearing'", said the man.

"I didn't say anything," says the Barman.

"You did. I heard you," protested the man.

The Barman said, "You must be hearing things, as I didn't say
anything." The Barman goes back to cleaning glasses with his back to the man.

Several minutes elapse. Once again, out of the blue the man says "Thanks."
"The Barman says, "Thanks for what?"

"You just said, 'Nice tie you're wearing'" said the man.

"I didn't say anything," said the Barman.

"You did, I heard you," protested the man.

"Not me," said the Barman, "but I know what it is. It's the
peanuts....they're complimentary."

A woman who won't do as she is told.

"It's too hot to wear clothes today," Jack said as he got out of the shower. "Honey, what do you think the neighbors would
think if I mowed the lawn like this?"

"Probably that I married you for your money." she replied.

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly, so they lit a fire and unsurprisingly it sank, proving once again that you can't have your kayak and heat it too!!

Enough for now, so until next time, I willsay Goodnight/ or it may be Good/Morning to you all. I hope you enjoyed the
festivities and a very happy Christmas with your families and friends. Enjoy the remaining days of December and soon we will
have a New Year. I love and appreciate you all, my friends and
have missed you. Take care, Cheers, Merle.

Enjoyed your jokes, as always! You bring smiles to a lot of folks each and every day!

Glad you are having such great weather there! We had a rainy and foggy Christmas Eve, but Christmas Day was sunny and warm...didn't even need a jacket!

Wishing you a wonderful and healthy 2009!
