A Dog Named Faith.

Post 586 ~ ~ ~ Friday, 27th March, 2009.

Hello my Friends ~~ Sorry to have been missing for a while, but have had a lot of pain walking, and
then to have the accident didn't help at all. I am feeling quite a lot better at last. Hope that improves
more yet. I hope you are all doing well and your lives are good. Even great !!! At least all our weather seems to be improving ~~ we are having lovely weather, and I think a lot of you are having warmer
days. It would be nice to stay either Spring or Fall (Autumn).

My elder son, John has been a great help to me the last couple of weeks for which I am very
greatful. Ringing every day, sometimes twice a day. Getting me anything I need and he
took me to a chiropractor, waited and then took me home.

This is John at a meeting of Far Riders Bike Club, with a soft drink as he doesn't drink at all.

My story tonight was sent to me twice, by Sheree-N-China-McClernan and also Sue & Bob.
Thank you for "The Dog Named Faith." It's a good one.

This is the story about a dog who was born on Christmas Eve in 2002. He was born with 3 legs - - 2 healthy hind legs and 1 abnormal front leg that needed to be amputated.

He couldn't walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him. He was rejected and scorned. His first owner also did not think he could survive, and was thinking of putting him to sleep.

At this time, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow came into his life and wanted to take care of him. She was determined to teach and train this dog to walk by himself. She thought, all we need is a little faith. Therefore she named him Faith.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surf board to let him feel the movements of the water. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and to reward him for standing up and jumping around. Even the other dogs at home helped to encourage him to walk. Amazingly, after only 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his 2 hind legs and jumped to move forward. After further training in the snow, he can now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where he goes, he just attracts all the people
around him He is now becoming famous on the international scene. He has appeared in various newspapers and TV shows. THere is even one book entitled "With a little Faith"
being published about him. He was even considered to appear in one of the Harry Potter
movies.

His present owner, Jude Springfellow has given up her teaching job and plans to take him around the world to preach "that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect so

Some pictures of Faith. Isn't he amazing?

In life there are always undesirable things
. Perhaps a person who feels things are not going as well as they could well feel better if they change their point of view and see things and see
things from another perspective.

Perhaps this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone. Perhaps everyone can appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day that follows.

Life is the continual demonstration of the power of thinking positive and having faith.
Believe in yourself. Never lose faith.

A few Jokes. "The Human Body." Thanks John.

It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.

One human hair can support 3 kg (6.6 lb.)

The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

Human thigh-bones are stronger than concrete.

A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.

There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.

Women blink twice as often as men.

The average person' skin weighs twice as much as their brain does.

Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.

If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.

Women reading this will be finished now.

Men are still busy checking their thumbs.
<><>

Kids have a greater need for apeed than classroom computers can deliver.
Impatient to turn in his essay, one restless student kept clicking the print 'Print". The
printer started to churn out copy after copy of the ten-page report.
The topic? Save our trees.
<><>

I was visiting a friend who could not find her cordless phone. After several minutes of
searching, her young daughter said. "You know what they should invent? A phone
that stays connected to its base so it never gets lost.
<><>

"What sound does a dog make?" the teacher asked her class.
Woof woof came the reply. "And a cat?" "Meow" said the children.
"And what sound does a mouse make?" she asked.

"Click," the children chorused.

Time to say goodnight, my friends until next time. Take great care of yourselves and
each other. My love and best wishes to you all. Cheers, Merle.

Hello Merle,

I'm sorry to hear you are still in pain. I hope you are having less pain as we speak. "Get Well Soon!"

I enjoyed the story of "Faith" and the photos. I will be passing the story and photos along to my daughter, who is a lover of dogs, actually, the first word she learned to say was 'dog'!

I agree we need spring and fall weather all year around. I like the warm weather...Take care and get well...

Hello dear Merle:-)

Good to hear that you are starting to feel a bit better, praying that it continues that way. How wonderful that your son is keeping such a close eye on you...what would we do without our children!!

The story of Faith the dog was such an inspiring read! It truly does show how obstacles, no matter how big, can be overcome. Loved being able to see the pictures of him as well...amazing!!

Sorry to hear you're still having some pain there. If you lived in the U.S. you could sue because of that accident and make a lot of money. Doesn't matter if the pain is unrelated to the accident. The lawyers would work that out for you. Wondering if the chiropracter is of much help though.

That dog is incredible.

Hi Merle!
I hope you get better soon.
I wish I could be like that doggie Faith. Here I am with 2 arms 2 legs, my faculties intact (most of the time) and yet utterly disabled by my own apathetic wallowing in misery!
Have a great weekend...

What an amazing little dog Faith is. All he needed was someone to have faith in him and that was the miracle.

I'm glad to hear you're not feeling too badly, Merle. An accident, no matter how minor, can knock one around mentally at times. Take care and I hope the pain keeps lessening.

Hugs.
