One Flaw in Women.

Poat 584 ~ ~ ~ Wednesday 18th March, 2009.

Hello my friends ~~ I hope all is well with you as it is with me - sort of. Yesterday my
Home Care lady and I went shopping and were almost home when we were involved in a car accident. It seems to have been caused by a lady who had an epileptic seizure and all told there were 5 cars involved. She ploughed into the back of Kerry's car from behind.
Then she continued on and only stopped by hitting two other cars.
I wasn't hurt, but Kerry was taken to hospital with back injuries which turned out to be
severe bruising, so I am so glad about that. So that was St. Patrick's Day for me.

The firm she works for came to take me home, and then went and retrieved all my shopping. Some things were crushed or broken, so they checked everything and then went and bought me replacements. I guess they are insured for that situation. A very good friend came as soon as she heard and put away the shopping for me, a real help.
I was shaken up and couldn't type without mistakes, so hope I don't make too many
tonight. Please bear with me.

Well, today was the funeral at Yarrawonga of dear Gwen. I would have liked to be there, but it wasn't possible. My story tonight was sent to me by Gwen awhile back.

It is called "One Flaw in Women."

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take 'no' for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes and sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

We all need to be reminded now and then how wonderful we are.
I am so sorry that I hadn't posted that when Gwen was alive.

Two jokes from my dear friend, Patty. Thank you so much Patty.
Bottle of Wine.

For all of us who are married, were married, wish you were married, or wish you wern't married, this is something to smile about the next time you see a bottle of wine.

Sally was driving home from one of her business trips to Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road.

As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the woman if she would like a ride.
With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman
The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at EVERYTHING she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.

"What's n the bag?" asked the old woman.
Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband."

The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two.
Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said, "GOOD TRADE....."

There was a blonde, a brunette and a redhead. They were in a swimming competition and each had to swim around a cone and swim back as fast as they could doing breaststroke.

The brunette and the redhead cmae back in a resonable time. After a couple of hours had
passed, the blonde finally made it to the end and said, out of breath, "The others cheated
...they used their hands."

A son asked his mother the following question : "Mum, why are wedding dresses white?"
"Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure."

The son thanks his mother and goes off to double check with his father.
"Dad, why are wedding dresses white?"

The father looks at his son and says, "All household appliances come in white."

That is it for tonight, my friends. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week. My love and
very best wishes to you all. Thank you all for the kind words of sympathy about Gwen's
passing. May she rest in peace. Take care, Cheers, Merle.

Dear Merle,

I am so sorry to hear you were in an accident. I hope you are doing alright and it doesn't cause your pain in the back and leg to worsen.

I enjoyed all your jokes again, can't pick a favorite one today, they were all funny.

Rest and take care of yourself and have a great week.

Dear Merle,
I can well understand how that accident would upset you (as it would most anyone!) So glad you weren't physically hurt!
You need to rest and not overdo. You've had much to deal with lately.
I loved that you posted the "Flaw in Women" that Gwen sent you.
I know she's smiling down from above.
Take good care of yourself my friend...

I am so glad you are okay and hope your home care friend recovers soon. That must be a wonderful home care program you are in to do all that for you. Too bad you could not make the funeral, I am sure you were there in spirit. Very nice post, hope your week will go well for you, take care friend.

Dear Merle, So sorry to hear about the accident, but very happy your Home Health Care person wasn't seriously hurt and you came out ok. Yes that would shake me up a little to.

Again, so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I bet you ladies had a ball when you all got together. And yes, that's so true, we woman don't realize just how much we are worth.

Hope you're able to sleep well tonight and aren't just now finding you have a few aches and pains caused from the accident. Sometimes it takes several days to show up. More later., Love, Patty

OMG, how terrible ! I am happy that nothing happened to you, but you must have quite a shock ! You both were really lucky ! This poor woman shouldn't drive when she gets epileptic seizures !

Perhaps Gwen whispered in your ear to post the "flaw". It is too bad that we don't tell the women in are lives thanks for all that they do.

Merle, thanks for all you have done, do and will continue to do. You have added immeasurably to my life. I look forward to reading your words of wisdom and witticisms.

Make sure your driver takes better care of you. snerx.

Keep up the good works.

Oh Merle, what an awful thing to happen. The poor woman who caused the accident will have to live with that memory for the rest of her life. I do hope you are all right - older bodies don't take kindly to being shaken around, so if anything doesn't feel right over the next week or so, please alert your doctor!
I feel for your Carer too - having done that job for 10 years, I know what it feels like to be responsible for someone, and having them in your car is always a concern, knowing accidents can happen without warning.

Glad to hear you were not hurt. The service company was really good to take care of things. How sad the lady hit five cars before stopping. Take care and I am sorry to hear about your friend Gwen.

I'm so pleased to hear you're OK after the accident and Kerry wasn't so badly hurt. Best wishes to you both.

It's really traumatic being involved in car accidents, takes a while to get over them. So take it easy and don't overdo it.

Love the Navajo story, brilliant one.

I'm so glad you and Kerry got out of that accident relatively lightly, Merle. How frightening for you, though, of course you'd be shaken. Don't worry about mistakes...you did very well.

I love Maxine's slide down the bannister of life...sounds just like what Maxine would say all right.

I hope you're not feeling quite so fragile now and that Kerry is recovering, too.

Take care. Hugs.

Hello dear Merle!

I read back a few posts to get caught up with you. I do hope you are feeling better now since the accident. I know something like that be so upsetting to a person, and rightfully so! I am just glad you weren't hurt as it could have been so much worse. Also, it is good to know that Kerry wasn't seriously hurt, either.

I am so sad to hear that your friend Gwen passed on. It looks like you all had such a great time together at your home in your pictures here.

You just rest up now and get better soon!!! As always, you brought some laughs into my life with your jokes again today! I love the Maxine jokes!

Take care! Love you!
