Peace and Serenity.

Post 622 ~ ~ ~ Saturday, 15th August, 2009.

Hello My Friends, I have been having lots of trouble opening my computer
and have found this way restricted in what it can do. I was surprised it put
the pictures on, but whether it will publish this may be another thing.
So I will only do a very short post, the machine gets checked out on Monday

This is a beautiful picture that my friend Gledwood in England posted awhile back
I have called it Peace and Serenity. If only the world could be just like that.
Thanks Gleds, I hope it wasn't copyrighted??? So sue me!!!

This one was on a Christmas card and is on my desktop and my blog header, but
it is a bit lighter on those. Not too sure how Peter darkened it. Nice Gum trees.

Just a couple of jokes tonight . . . .

Thank you to my good friend Sharon for the first one. called Mama Mia!

For several years a married man was having an affair with an Italian woman.
One night she confided in him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin
his reputation or his marriage, he paid her a large sum of money if she
would go to Italy and secretly have the child. If she stayed in Italy to raise
the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18.

She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby was born.
To keep it discreet, he told her to simply mail him a postcard and write
"Spaghetti" on the back. He would then arrange for the child support
payments to begin.

One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife.
"Honey," she said, "You received a very strange postcard today."
"Oh, just give it to me and I'll explain it later," he said. The wife obeyed
and watched as her husband read the card, turned white and fainted.

On the card was written:
"Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti.

Three with meatballs, 2 without. Send extra sauce."

Why I fired my secretary.

Last week it was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up that day.
I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say,
"Happy Birthday" and possibly have a small present for me.

As it turned out, she barely said "Good morning" let alone "Happy Birthday."
I thought, . well, that's marriage for you, but the kids...They will remember.

My kids came bounding downstairs to breakfast and didn't say a word. So
when I left for the office, I felt pretty low and somewhat despondent.

As I walked into my office, my secretary Jane, said, "Good morning Boss and
by the way Happy Birthday. It felt better that at least someone remembered.
I worked until one o'clock, when Jane knocked on my door and said, "You
know, it's such a beautiful day outside, and it is your birthday, what do you
say we go out for lunch, just you and me." "Thanks, Jane, that's the
greatest thing I have heard all day. Let's go."

We went to lunch, but not to where we normally would go. She chose instead
a quiet bistro with a private table. We had 2 martinis each and I enjoyed the
meal tremendously.

On the way back to the office, Jane said, "You know, it's such a beautiful day....
we don't need to go straight back to the office, do we?"
I responded, "I guess not. What do you have in mind?" She said, " Let's
drop by my apartment, it's just around the corner."

After arriving at her apartment, Jane turned to me and said, "Boss, if you
don't mind, I'm going into the bedroom for just a moment. I'll be right back."
"OK." I nervously replied.

She went into the bedroom and a couple of minutes later she came back
carrying a huge birthday cake. . . . . followed by my wife, my kids, and
dozens of my friends and co-workers, all singing "Happy Birthday."

And I just sat there . . . .

On the couch . . . .

Naked.

Love your neighbors, but don't remove the fence.
<><>

Well, see if this gets out into cyber space. Look after yourselves, my
friends and have a great weekend. Hope to be back with you soon.
My love and best wishes to you all, Enjoy life. Cheers, Merle.

Hey Merle, it worked! That's the only thing about computers, they do strange things at times.

Hope you're keeping well. Hugs.

Of course not.

It wasn't mine. I've been borrowing pictures for years ~ surely that's what the Blogger Picture function is for when it asks for the picture's address?

Last week for the first time I got a complaint. I just told the person to put a block on borrowing, which they duly did.

PS you don't get hedgehogs down Under do you? I furry Fridayed them today

G'day Merle, like everyone else I hope your computer is OK after its visit to the doctor, my PC is playing up at the moment but as I use the laptop almost exclusively I'm not too concerned for now.
