A Lovely Day.

Post 651 ~ ~ ~ Sunday, 20th December, 2009.

Hello My Friends ~~ Just one last post before I disappear for a week.
I would very much like to have this underlining disappear, but I haven't a clue how to get rid of it. No idea how or why it appeared, anyway. (The magic of having a clever brother)

I hope you are all well and prepared for Christmas, all the shopping
done and then the food will be the next thing to prepare and enjoy.

I had a really lovely day on Saturday, when my son Geoff, d-i-l Joanne and their two kids, Michelle 25 and Scott 21. Also Michelle's boyfriend, Ryan.
We shared a meal, I had cooked chicken wraps, potato wedges and had coleslaw. Jo brought a chicken and some soft drink.

We also swapped presents and everyone seemed quite pleased with their gifts and I was too. We sat out in the gazebo with drinks and nibbles - while Geoff pulled a few weeds and did a few jobs for me as he always does.

Couple of photos to follow.

This is my lovely granddaughter Michelle and her boyfriend, Ryan who are
flying out to England on the 28th to work for a year. Michelle is a teacher,
Ryan a plumber. I hope they enjoy themselves and the change of scenery.
Hope they pack some warm clothes !!!

This is the group photo of my visitors, from the left, Joanne, Geoff, Ryan,
Michelle and Scott. Scott fixed my TV which wasn't going well. Thanks, Scott.
We all enjoyed the day, so that was great.

I have had some wonderful Christmas cards and e mails etc and I really
appreciate them all. And especially I really appreciate all my friends who
make my life so much brighter for their inter-action with me. I will miss
you for the week I will be at Kathy's home.

To a very big Thank You to one and all for being my blogging buddies,
and the people who live in my computer. I love you all.

One of the nicest e mails was from my good friend Lorraine. Thank you.

Where did the year go ?
Suddenly it is December . . . . . AGAIN - and
we realize that with giant strides we started
in January and within the blink of an eye, 2009
is almost over !!

A big "Thank You" for your friendship, laughs and
memories during 2009.

Without you, I'm sure that 2009 would have been
extremely boring.

From my side I wish you all a magical Festive Season
filled with Loving Wishes and Beautiful Thoughts.

May 2010 mark the beginning of a Tidal Wave of
Love, Happiness and Bright Futures.

And to those who need someone special, may you
find that true love.

To those who need money, may your finances
overflow.

To those who need caring, may you find a good
heart.

To those who need friends, may you meet lovely
people.

Should you be driving during this time , , , ,please
take care and stay safe !!

And please, if you win Lotto, remember who sent
you this lovely e mail.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
<><>
Now to find a few jokes. . . . . .
First one was sent by my friend in England, Mike Burridge. Thanks.
It is called PENGUINS.

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in
Antarctica -- where do they go?

Wonder no more !!!

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which
lives an extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life,
as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its
offspring throughout its life.

If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members
of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in
the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep
enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried,

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave
and sing:

"Freeze a jolly good fellow."

Then they kick him in the ice hole.

You didn't really believe that I know anything
about penguins, did you?
<><>

Mike also sent the next one. . . Thanks Mike.

'Viagra'
is now available in powder form for your tea.

It doesn't enhance your sexual performance, but it
does stop your biscuits going soft.

<><>

My good friend, Linda sent the next one and it is
called "Man is Boss ??? or is he?

The husband had just finished reading a new book, entitled,
"YOU CAN BE THE MAN OF YOUR HOUSE."

He stormed to his wife and announced, "From now on, you
need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is
Law. You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I
have finished eating my meal, you will serve me a sumptuous
dessert. After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and
we will have the kind of sex that I want."

"Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath, so I can relax. You
will wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe. . . .
then you will massage my feet and hands. Then, tomorrow, guess
who is going to dress me and do my hair?"

Without even looking up from her morning paper, the wife replied,
"The Funeral Director" would be my first guess."
<><>

Last one tonight from my good friend Gina. Thank you my friend.

It is near the Christmas break of the school year. The students have
turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do. All the
children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal.

Teacher: Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can
leave early today.

Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I wanna get outta here. I'm smart
and will answer the question.
Teacher: Who said 'Four score and seven years Ago?'
Before Johnny could open his mouth, Susie says 'Abraham Lincoln.
Teacher: That's right Susie, you can go home.
Johnny is mad that Susie answered the question first.
Teacher: Who said, 'I have a dream?'
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary says 'Martin Luther King.
Teacher: That's right Mary, you can go.
Johnny is even madder than before.
Teacher: Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you?
Before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says 'John F. Kennedy.
Teacher: That's right, Nancy, you may also leave.
Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able toanswer any questions.
When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, I wish these
bitches would keep their mouths shut.
The Teacher turns around: NOW WHO SAID THAT?

Johnny: TIGER WOODS, CAN I GO NOW?
<><>

Bye for now ~~ Back in a week. Merry Christmas and Festive Season
to you all and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year in 2010.
Love and Best Wishes to you all. Cheers, Merle.

Have a happy holiday.

Looks like you fixed the underlining, now about the large print. They say when the print is large and in bold face the person is shouting. How did you know I didn't have my hearing aid in this AM?

That last bit was a riot. You did those BIG LETTERS on purpose, yes???

Merry Christmas Merle. Glad to read the TV is working again. We've gotta have our TV, especially when it is seriously hot and we don't want to go outside.

You are having some very special family time. I'm happy for you.
I will be spending Christmas day with most of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at my daughters home. On Christmas Eve, thanks to long distance Phone service, I will be talking to my special friend John who lives 3,000 miles away. Dang!
Loved your jokes and copied a few to send to family and friends.
Have a blessed Christmas Merle.
Hugs!

Merry Christmas Dear Merle!
From your home in Shepparton Australia, all the way to my home in Navarre Florida USA, you have given me joy by sharing your joy.
I am glad that you are surrounded
by so much love. I have my family with me for the Christmas season too. Sometimes my cheeks get sore from all of the smiling I have been doing!
I also get a great satisfaction from cooking for them and making special treats for them to share together.
I have more than I would dare ask for and certainly more than I could ever deserve.
God bless you Merle, and may your Christmas with your loved ones be Merry,
Carl Humphreys Sr.

Dear Merle, have a wonderful time. I had asked Abe what your problem might be and I was going to try to e-mail you and explain what to do, but then I remembered, you have a brother who can get on your blog and change things for you. Yes it's nice to have a brother who can help. Thank goodness I have Abe or several of opur daughters, because both of my brothers don't know that much about computers. LOL Loved the Tiger Wood joke. Poor fellow, he's sure been taking a beating, but then he needs to learn where to keep him self while on tour. LOL Time to run to the school and pick up the granddaughter. Temp is finally ups to 30 degrees F. but it's very damp which makes the cold seem colder. Take care, and Merry Christmas to you and yours. Love, Patty

Hope you're having a wonderful holiday there. I'd like to be going to England for a year too. It's not that cold there, not as cold there as in Michigan here.

That Tiger Woods joke was too funny. Best Tiger joke I've heard.

Dear Merle,
The photos are WONDERFUL! :)

I haven't had a chance to keep up on my blog reading this week, as we've been too busy with celebrations. But I wanted to stop by and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. ♥

Hello dearest Merle:-)

I'm so sorry for not having come by sooner than this but the Christmas preparations really took up a lot of my time and I had no time for visiting. Now I think I'm ready for Christmas! lol I will send you pictures of Lily from her b'day party soon. I don't keep them long on my blog since I really don't want the whole world wide web to see them.

I was really believing into that penguin story until the end! LOL Good one!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, dear Merle and may all your wishes come true during this magical season. xoxo
