Update #3

Hi folks,, Peter here with another update on Merle's health.
Not that there is much to update unfortunately, her treatment has been changed from physio therapy to bed rest, she was suffering quite a lot of pain after each physio session and the current thinking is that complete rest may achieve better results?????
Despite all this she is still bright and fairly upbeat, much more-so than when she went into hospital last time, she asked me to let you all know that she still thinks about all of you each day and is longing for the day when she gets home and back into her routine.
We are still hopeful that she will be home for Christmas, however I wouldn't be surprised if they try to locate a suitable respite care centre to ease her back into "normal".

For our taste of humor.... I can't recall Merle posting any of these, my apologies if she has.

A woman was sipping on a glass of wine, while sitting on the patio with her husband.
She says, "I love you so much, I don't know how I could ever live without you."
Her husband asks. "Is that you, or the wine talking?"
She replies, "It's me....talking to the wine."

Thank you for another update on Merle. Bless her heart. I so hope she will have a beautiful and pain free Christmas regardless of where she celebrates.

Great bumper stickers. I had never seen those. And you can never see the "It's me...talking to the wine" enough. That one gets a laugh every time.

It's the first time I've read the joke and the stickers. Both are cute, and put a smile on my face.

I hope they soon find a way to ease Merle's pain. I wish her the best get well wishes possible.

Thanks Peter for the updates.

Thanks for giving us an update. Those signs look like something Merle would post for us out here in blog land. A real reversal of treatment from therapy to bed rest? I just hope she can get some relief soon. WE miss her . Please give her my love. Peace

Thank you, Peter, for this upadate. It isn't the one we were looking for but it is the news.

Merle, I hope and am praying that your rest plan will work better than the therapy was. For sure nothing is fast in the medical business. I'm in that loop my self right now.

Peter had couple of good funnies for your blog again this time. I could use a day off my retirement right now but his cartoon says we don't get days off any more now that we are retired.

I'm sorry she's still having pain. Tell her I've started on therapy for my back problems, not sure if it's going to work or not. Guess we'll see. My muscles are so uptight, I can't walk very far without having something to hold onto like a shopping cart, otherwise, they get so tight and pain, I have to just stop and stand there for a while. Last evening I was able to walk over to a neighbors house for a few hours and I was able to get over and back without having to stop to try to get the muscles to relax. They have given me a muscle relaxer, but i took one and didn't like the way it made me feel. My heart is still in A Fib but I am learning to live with that. I tell you, it's no fun growing old and having so many things either stop working or aren't working like they should. LOL Perhaps I should write a book telling people what to expect at certain ages. LOL I keep telling our kids at the age of 50 things start going and then it's about every five years something new seems to pop up, by the time you're 70 a lot of things have popped up. I turned 75 last month. LOL That's my biggest problem. LOL hang in there Merle. Think of you often.

Hi, I have a suggestion. I have a herniated disc in my back and my doctor prescribed cortisone shots. (I'm in the U.S.) You can get them in a series of three shots and they are great for relieving the pain. I felt a lot of relief after just one shot but getting all three shots helps the pain relief last longer, maybe about 6 months. Hope this helps.

Good luck! from Lisa
