No news is good news....

Hello everyone, it's Bec, Merle's granddaughter again - sorry its been awhile since you received an update on Merle. I was hoping she would post something herself...

However I spoke with her just the other day and she is in good health and feeling pretty good.
I am not sure how to put it... Merle is doing pretty good, although her memory is a little jumbled up.... She does have good days and bad days, but all in all she is feeling good.
Her eyesight is failing her and she can't really see much. She told me she is booking in to have cataract surgery in the near future, so here's hoping she will be able to see much better soon and hopefully post again.

Thanks to you all for your well wishes and comments.
I know she is very grateful to you all. As am I.

Also if you are Facebook friends with Merle, she kinda doesn't remember that she even has a Facebook page.. So I don't think she will be looking at her page anytime soon, but I do try to pass on your comments when I can.

Thanks again,
Cheers Bec

Thanks so much, Bec. Please pass on my best wishes and love to Merle. Let her know I think of her often...it doesn't matter if she doesn't remember me...as long as she knows she has people here who do care about her; that is what matters. :)

Hugs and love.

Thanks for the update, it's good to hear Merle is still active and looking to the future. Her cooking posts always made me want to go live nextdoor to her.

Thank you for the post, Bec. Tell Merle I've had my cataracts done...and it's absolutely amazing! Give her my love...if she remembers me, fine, if not, it doesn't matter. I just hope she's happy and contented.

Thank you Bec - best wishes for Merle and sending her love and prayers. My Mom just had cataract surgery and she did fine - she is so glad that she had it done. She can see very well now. So please tell Merle not to worry!

Hi Bec and Merle ~~ Well Merle, here is all my good wishes for the rest of the year.

I wish for you really great results from your cataract surgery. I am close to there myself and often can't figure out letters even with my reading glasses.

One more thing, I will be OBE on October 30. (That is Over Bloody Eighty.)

Oh yes, we spent the months of July and August in London with our daughter Karen and her family. With the exception of a cruise from Venice to Athens via Istanbul and the Black Sea.

Bec
Thank you for the update. When my MIL who is now 94 had her cataract surgery she tossed her glasses aside so maybe Merle will do the same. Please tell Merle this Tennessee Kat sure misses her delightful post. I could always count on a smile or a lol when I came over to her blog. Sometime memory problems can be too many meds so I would check into that. If my MIL body was as sharp as her mind she would be running on all cylinders. We will keep Merle in our thoughts and prayers. Wishing her Enough. Hope she remembers this saying. Peace and Thanks again

Nothing like always being the last to get something done. Please tell her Patty said hello. It's been some summer, I fell and ha to go to hospital to make sure i didn't have a brain bleed, I take Coumadin and that thins the blood. I had a horrible knock on the back of my head and was bruised for about a month. Then I had to go to hospital for some minor surgery. I haven't mowed the yard this year, we're hiring it done. Abe is still on his oxygen all the time and he can't do a lot. Thank goodness we have some daughters that help a lot. I'm still hoping for a speedy recover for Merle, but it seems to be taking a while. Abe and I both had birthdays about a week ago, he's now 79 and I'm 77. Tell her we're sending our love to her.

Hi all I am Geoff, one of Merles sons.
Now that I am set up I will pass your comments onto Mum and post her responses for you.
She asked that I post this message

"I appreciate your thoughts good wishes and cards during this festive season. Love and best wishes to you and your loved ones."

She does "love the friends that live in my computer" You all have been very special to her over a long time.

Mum is back home after a few days in hospital getting over an infection. She is very determined to stay at home and is receiving a lot of support from family ,friends, neighbours Doctors and local services to do that.

The sense of humourn is still there as is her care for others.

I will post again after I see her for Christmass

Geoff
