One Day at a Time.

Hi again Everybody, I hope all is well in your part of the
world. All OK here at present. We even had a nice drop
of rain, not enough but better than none. It just may save
the crops from being useless. John and I saw a lot of crops
that would be lucky if they even grew enough to get seed
for next year. Maybe we will get some more soon.

I am still unable to comment on blogs that do not give the
option of “other” and a few did not appear to have e mail.
“They” will not accept my user name anywhere and a few
have said it is not easy (or impossible ) to comment here.
I am so sorry for all these problems and hope one day we
all run smoothly again.

I am going to post an article called “One Day at a Time”
I should know it by heart as I typed it last Sunday and
again on the Monday. Maybe this time ??

There are two days of the week about which we should
not worry . . . . .

Two days which should be kept free from fear and
apprehension.

One of these days is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares,
its faults and its blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday
has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the
world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single
act we performed. We cannot erase a single word said.
Yesterday is gone !!

The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with
Tomorrow’s sun will rise, whether in splendor or behind a
mask of clouds. But it will rise. Until it does we have no
stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.

This leaves only one day . . . today. Any man can fight the
battles of just one day. It is when you and I add the
burdens of two awful eternities --- yesterday and tomorrow,
that we break down.

It is not necessarily the experiences of today that disturb
one’s peace of mind. It is oftentimes the remorse or the
bitterness for something that happened yesterday and the
dread of what tomorrow may bring.

Let us therefore live one day at a time.

A joke called “Ride a Wild Pony” which I hope doesn’t offend

Bluey got a job breaking brumbies. (wild horses)
“You sure you can handle it?” asked the stockman.
“Yeah, no worries,” said Bluey as he mounted the restless
pony the stockman held still for him.
”Giddyup!” yelled Bluey, digging his heels hard into the
brumby’s sides, but the brumby didn’t move.

“Oh, yeah,” said the stockman. With this one, you gotta
yell “Jesus Christ” to get him going and “Amen” to stop him.”
“All right, no worries,” said Bluey and then yelled out
“Jesus Christ !” The brumby took off and it was all Bluey
could do to hang on. They were heading to a ravine and they
were gaining speed.

“Whoa ! Stop ! Halt ! goddammit !” yelled Bluey and then the
instructions he’d received earlier came back to him.
“AMEN” he cried, and stones and earth from the brumby’s skidding
over the edge of the ravine not a foot away from where they’d
finally come to a halt.

“Jesus Christ……. . . . . .” he said.

A man was driving up and down the street in a sweat, because
he couldn’t find a parking spot and he had an important meeting.

Looking up to the heavens, he called on the power of prayer.
“Lord take pity on me,” he pleaded. “If you find me a parking
place, I will go to church every Sunday for the rest of my life
and give up the whisky.”

Miraculously a parking spot appeared.

He turned his eyes heavenwards again and said,
“Never mind, I found one.”

And one more –--“ Lemon Picker.”

A bloke applied for a job at a lemon orchard.
“You any good at picking lemons?” said the foreman.
“I reckon. You should see my last three cars !!”

Couple of quotes - - - -
Little deeds of kindness
Little words of love,
Help to make the world happy
Like the heaven above.
---Julia Fletcher Carney.

I thank Thee, Lord, for knowing me better than I know
myself,
And for letting me know myself better than others know me;
I pray Thee then, make me better than they suppose,
And forgive me for what they do not know.

-- Abu Bekr father-in-law of Mohammed.

Bye now, Take care and be Happy my friends. Merle.

Leaving you a comment seems a little better today...maybe it was that I told the little box that I didn't want to see it ever again. This time I only had one box to contend with. That's much better.

Jesus Christ! I think poor Bluey went over into the ravine. *LOL* That was really funny.

Maybe other bloggers who read your post will change their choices to include "Other" just for you to be able to comment. I can't understand why you are having so much trouble with Beta...I'm not changing until they make me. *smile*

I'm pretty sure mine has "other" and I even allow anonymous comments so I hope you can comment.
