Post 95 - - - - - Saturday, 16 December 2006.

Good Evening or Good Morning – Whatever the case may be,

I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend. I sure am.

Geoff and Jo turned up last night, and we had our dinner and

then exchanged presents and we were all happy with them,

and had a nice evening talking and catching up with the news.

We also watched a dvd of The Eagles, always nice listening.

Then today we went and bought some more plants that Geoff

spent hours planting, repairing watering system and spreading

pine bark to finish with. So it all looks very nice and tidy.

I bought 2 Daisy bushes, a climbing geranium, and another

pelargonium, 7 small geranium plants and 3 African daisy plants. (Please Mr. Bunnings, if you see me coming, lock your doors.)

We had a nice roast turkey meal with lots of roast vegetables

and lots of other vegies, we all enjoyed that and then Geoff

went on with all the work he did, for which I am very grateful.

I sure got lucky with my sons and some friends who helped.

Tonight, I am tired as I was out in the sun, supervising !!!

The verse I have chosen is called “What Do You Offer?”

What do you offer other folk

Who pass along the street?

A pleasant smile? A kindly word

To those you chance to meet?

Or do you bore them uselessly

With every little woe,

Until they say, “Dear me, how sad !

But, I really must go.”

<><><>

A smile is like the sunshine,

It sheds a special ray;

A word of cheer like sweetest song,

That brightens up each day;

It doesn’t cost a penny-piece

To keep the largest store

Of cheery words and welcome smiles

For folk who pass your door.

Just a few jokes as I am getting very sleepy - - -

“Is your mother home?” the saleman asked the small boy.

“Yeah, she’s home,” the boy said scooting over to let him past.

The saleman rang the doorbell, got no response, knocked once, then again. Still no one came to the door. Turning to the boy,

the fellow said, “I thought you said your mother was home ?”

The kid replied, “She is, but this isn’t where I live.”

<><><>

Little Brother : “If you broke your arm in two places, what would you do ?”

Boy : “I wouldn’t go back to those two places, that’s for sure.

<><><>

Father : “I hear you skipped school to play football.”

Son : “No, I didn’t, and I have the fish to prove it.

<><><>

“Mum. can I change my name right now?” asked Ben.

“But why do you want to change your name, dear,” said his Mum.

“Because Dad said he’s going to spank me as sure as my name is

Benjamin “

<><><>

Little Jimmy’s pre-school class went on a field trip to the fire

station. The firefighter giving the presentationheld up a smoke detector and asked the class : “Does anyone know what this is?

Little Jimmy’s hand shot up and the fire fighter called on him

Little Jimmy replied “That’s how Mommy knws supper is ready?

<><><>

Raj had been talking on the phone for about half an hour before he hung up. His father said, “Wow !! That was short.

You usually talk for a hour. What happened?”

Raj replied., “It was a wrong number.”

<><><>

You will have to excuse me tonight, as I have to go to bed. This

supervising is very tiring, so I will try to catch up tomorrow.

Thanks to those wo commented. Take care, Cheers, Merle.

Merle, I need to cut and past the part about telling people every little woe and send it to a friend of mine - who talks of nothing else!!

The Eagles are one of my favorites too.

Turkey sounds good.

You sound a little tired. Try to take it easy if you can.

Being a gardner myself and knowing the work involved, I am always impressed with those generous enough to help out in that area. Sounded like you had a great time together - I'm glad for you. ec

Hello Merle

I'm an Eagles fan too. Sounds like you're having a lovely time with your family and that dinner smells delicious!

You're probably keeping the staff at Bunnings in work! What would they do without keen gardeners like you? Lol!

Enjoy yourself and don't do too much supervising...

Hugs

Robyn xoxo
