Keep on Going.

Post 111 - - - - - Saturday, 13 th January, 2007.

Hello Everybody ~~ I hope all is going well for all my friends wherever you are. All is
OK here with me and the two little doggies I am baby-sitting. My son rang tonight and will be home tomorrow and the dogs and I will be glad to see him. There are more fires that are closer to me, but not TOO close. The sky is full of smoke and it is a worrying time for people trying to protect their homes, property and livestock
.

Now to find something to post, thank goodness for my library of books - - - -

One step won't get you very far ---
You've got to keep on walking.

One word won't tell folks who you are ---
You've got to keep on talking.

One foot won't make you very tall ---
You've got to keep on growing.

One trip to church won't tell you all ---
You've got to keep on going.

Little Zachary.
Little Zachary was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything, tutors,
mentors, flash cards, special learning centers. In short, everything they could think of to help his math.

Finally, in a last ditch effort, they took Zachary down and enrolled him in the local
Catholic school.
After the first day, little Zachary came home with a serious look on his face. He didn't even kiss his mother hello. Instead he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread out all over his room and little Zachary was
hard at work. His mother was amazed. She called him down for dinner and to her
shock, the minute he was finished, he marched back up to his room without a word, and in no time, he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day, while the mother tried to understand what made the difference.

Finally, little Zachary brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table, went up to his room and hit the books.

With great trepidation, his Mom looked at it and to her great surprise, little Zachary
got an "A" in math. She could no longer hold her curiousity. She went to his room and said, "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?"

Little Zachary looked at her and shook his head, no.
"Well then," she replied, "was it the books, the discipline, the spructure, the uniforms? WHAT WAS IT ALREADY ?"

Little Zachary looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school when I saw that
guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around."

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked is father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car.

His father said to him, "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study your Bible and get your hair cut, then we'll talk about it."

A month later, the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss his use of the car. His father said, "Son, I'm real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, you've studied your Bible diligently, but you didn't get your hair cut."

The young man waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking
about that. You know Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair."

His father replied, " Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went."

A woman answered her front door and found two little boys holding a list. "Lady," one of them explained, "we're on a scavenger hunt and we still need three grains of wheat, a pork chop bone and a piece of used carbon paper to earn a dollar.

"Wow," the woman replied, "Who sent you on such a challenging hunt?"
"Our baby-sitter's boyfriend."

A man went to see his doctor because he was suffering from a miserable cold.
His doctor prescribed some pills, but they didn't help.
On his next visit, the doctor gave him a shot, but that didn't do any good.

On his third visit, the doctor told the man to go home and take a hot bath. As soon
as he was finished bathing he was to throw open all the windows and stand in the draft. "But, doc," protested the patient, If I do that, I'll get pneumonia."

"I know," said the physician, "I can cure pneumonia."

During these colder months it's important to conserve energy.
I try and d my part by laying on the sofa watching TV all day.

Gidday Merle,
I've had a spell from blogging but now I'm back. Peter tells me you've been having problems with blogger and so has Lee, but I haven't had any problems, mind you in the time I haven't posted maybe I would have. I either post directly to my post or sometimes use notepad and don't seem to have any problems.
Keep on keeping on!!!
