Moments of Life.

Post 119 - - - - - - Sunday, 21 st January, 2007.

G'day Everyone ~~ How are you all doing today ? Things going well for you all I hope.
Everyone in Victoria, Australia is smiling, as at last we have had some lovely rain and
that is wonderful. Lots of fires now under control, Meow 's lawn is smiling and we have had almost 1 inch here in Shepparton where I live. Some places got more, but at least it is a start, and the sky is still looking dark. Fingers crossed. My friend Nick was going to ask a friend to do a rain dance. Thanks Nick !! And others who prayed
for us.

Tonight's item was sent to me by my friend Robyn - the birthday girl of the 20th Jan.
It is called Moments in Life. Thank you Robyn. Love your photo !!

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to
pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.

When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long
at the closed door that we don't see the one which has opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive.
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away.
Go for someone who makes you smile;
Because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright.
Find the one who makes your heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream;
Go where you want to go;
Be what you want to be;
Because we have only one life
And one chance to do all the things we want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet.
Enough trials to make you strong.
Enough sorrow to make you human and
Enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
have the best of everything
They just make the most of
Everything that comes their way.

The brightest future will always
be based on a forgotten past;
You can't go forward in life until
You let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying,
and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life, so at the end
You're the one who is smiling and
everyone around you is crying.

Please send this message to those people
who mean something to tou ( I JUST DID)

To those people who have touched your life in one way or another;
To those who make you smile when you really need it;
To those who make you see the the brighter side of things
when you are really down;
To those whose friendship you appreciate'
To those who are meaningful in your life.

Don't count the years ---- count the memories !!

A man is flying a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts, "Excuse me. Can you
help me? I promised my friend I would meet him half an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man below says, "Yes, you are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 3o
feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees N. Latitude and between
58 and 60 degrees W. Longitude.

"You must be an engineer," says the balloonist.
"I am," replies the man, " how did you know?"
"Well," said the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but I
have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost."

The man below says, "You must be a manager."
"I am," replies the balloonist, "but how did you know ?"
"Well ," said the man below, "you don't know where you are, or where you are going.
You have made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to
solve your problem. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now it is somehow my fault."

Timmy was a little five year old boy that his Mom loved very much and being a worrier, she was concerned about him walking to school when he started Kindergarten. She walked him to school for a couple of days, but when he came home one day, he told his mother that he did not want her walking him to school,
everyday. He wanted to be like the big boys. He protested loudly, so she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor, Mrs Goodnest, if she would surreptiously
follow her son to school, at a distance behind him that he would not likely notice, but close enough to keep a watch on him. Mrs Goodnest said since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well,
so she agreed.

The next school day, Mrs Goodnest and her little girl, Marcy, set out following behind
Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor boy he knew. She did this for a whole week. As the boys walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, the little friend of Timmy noticed that this same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally he said to Timmy, "Have you noticed that lady following us all week? Do you know her?
Timmy, nonchalantly replied, "Yea, I know who she is." The friend said,"Well who is she?" "That's just Shirley Goodnest." "Who the heck is she and why is she following us?"
"Well," Timmy explained, "every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in it, the prayer psalm says,
"Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life, so guess I'll just have to get used to it."

Why God never got a PhD.

Please don't read this if you are easily offended.

1. He had only one major publication.
2. It was written in Aramaic, not in English.
3. It has no references.
4. It wasn't even published in a refereed journal.
5. There are serious doubts he wrote it himself.
6. It may be true that he created the world, but what has he done since then?
7. His cooperative efforts are quite limited.
8. The Scientific community has had a hard time replicating his results.
9. He unlawfully performed not only Animal, but "human" testing.
10. When one experiment went awry, he tried to cover it by drowning his subjects.
11. When subjects didn't behave as predicted, he deleted them from the sample.
12. He rarely came to class, just told his students to read the book.
13. Some say he got his son to teach the class.
14. He expelled his first two students for learning.
15. Although there were only ten requirements, most of his students failed his tests.
16. His office hours were infrequent and usually held on a mountain top.

The patient went to the doctor because he had the flu, and the doctor wrote out a
prescription for him in his usual illegible writing. The patient put it in his pocket.
but forgot to get the tablets rom the pharmacy.

Every morning, for two years, he showed it to the conductor as a railroad pass. Twice it got him into the movies, once into the soccer stadium and once into the symphony.
He got a raise at work by showing it as a note from his boss. One day he mislaid it.

His daughter picked it up, played it on the piano and won a scholarship to the
conservatory of music.

Patient : "Tell me doctor, is this flu serious?"
Doctor : "Well I wouldn't advise you to watch any serials on TV."

Hi Merle

I note that one of your quotes came from the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. Have you read it? It's a wonderful book and one that's been around a while.

Like the jokes - as usual, very funny.

Glad you have some rain, please send it up here when you've finished with it?

Have a lovely day, dear friend.

Hugs xoxo

*Does a Happy Cat dance! I am so glad you got the rain you were waiting so long for. It sounds strange to be so happy about rain but in your case I am. WTG Merle! I bet you went out and did a rain dance in the garden to make it happen.
I got Moments of Life in a PPS file and had never seen the words printed out all together like that. It is so beautiful.

It stopped raining here for a few days, I guess you got it. I'm glad for you. As for me it's the middle of winter here and I am very ready for a nice warm spring day, but it won't be coming for a while yet.
I liked what Robyn sent you. So true. Also got a good chuckle out of the goodnes and mercy story.
