Bank Account.

Post 309 - - - - - Monday, 10th September, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ How is the world treating you ? Gently, I hope
and that the week is a happy one for you. All going well here, so no
complaints from me. I made another Meat Loaf today from Lee 's
recipe and it is very nice, and lots of veggies and gravy etc.

John survived his first day back at work, but still isn't his
usual bright self. I only spoke to him on the phone again.

The photos tonight are varied, a couple from the front garden
and some of my granddaughters.

These are just outside my front porch with blind on it.

Close -up of my bits and pieces, cinerarias, wallflowers, snapdragon & azalia.

These are my 4 oldest granddaughters, taken at a birthday party, Sorry it
is not very clear. My grandson took it and sent it to me.
Rebecca 27, Rachael and Samantha, both 25 and the birthday girl Jackie 30.
These are John's 3 girls, and Sam is my daughter Julie's daughter.

I have a short item first, sent by mt friend, Jeanette. Thanks Jan !!

Time for some jokes - - - -

Did you hear about the two blondes who froze to death
at a drive - in movie?
They went to see "Closed for the Winter.
<><>

A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband
opening the front door.
"Hurry," she said, "stand in the corner."

She rubbed baby oil all over him, then dusted him with talcum
powder.

"Don't move until i tell you," she said, "Pretend you are a statue."
"What's this ?" her husband inquired as he entered the room.

"Oh, it's a statue," she replied. "The Smiths bought one and i liked
it so I got one for us, too."

Nothing more was said, not even when they went to bed. Around
2 am the husband got up, went to the kitchen and returned with a
sandwich and a beer.

"Here," he said to the statue, " Have this, I stood like that for two
days at the Smiths and nobody offered me a damned thing."

Why do little boys whine ?
Because they are practising to be men.
<><>

An eccentric philosophy professor gave a one question
final exam after a semester dealing with a broad array
of topics.

The class was already seated and ready to go when the
professor picked up his chair, plopped it on his desk and
wrote on the board, "Using everything we have learned this
semester, prove that this chair does not exist.

Fingers flew, erased, notebooks, were filled in furious
fashion. Some students wrote over 30 pages in one hour
attempting to refute the existence of the chair.. One member
of the class, however, was up and finished in less than a
minute.

Weeks later, when the grades were posted, the student who
finished in one minute got an A.

The rest of the class wondered how he could get an A when he
had barely written anything at all.

This is what he wrote, "What chair ?"

Apparently, one in five people in the world is Chinese. There
are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them.

It's either my Mum or my Dad or my older brother Colin, or my
younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu.

But I think it is Colin.

A blonde went to an eye doctor to have her eyes checked
for glasses. The doctor directed her to read various letters
with her left eye, while covering the right eye.

The blonde was so mixed up about which eye was which,
that the eye doctor, in disgust, took a paper lunch bag with
a hole in it to see through, covered up the appropriate eye
and asked her to read the letters.

As he did so, he noticed that the blonde had tears streaming
down his face.

":Look" said the doctor, "There's no need to get emotional
about getting glasses."

"I know," agreed the blonde, "But I kind of had my heart
set on wire frames.
<><>

Sorry to say I have to finish now and go to bed. I hope you
are enjoying your lives. My sympathy to all those affected by
the terrorist attacks on September 11th. A truly sad day for
the free world. Love and best wishes to you all.
Cheers, Merle.

Hey Miz Merle...thanks so much for your thoughts on my eyes...they seem to be some better today after using an antihistmine eyedrop but I'm still tired and whatnot as I've not got any good sleep lately!

Say, I love that container garden shelf...I may have to look into getting one next spring as I've got just the spot for one!

Your granddaughters are lovely!

Love the "blonde" jokes!

I'm finally here to catch up on your news...I've had a busy couple of days and that's affected how much time I spend on the computer...darn it! lol I love the way you have all types of little plants growing on that tier stand. Also, how wonderful to have those two pictures that belonged to your mom before you were even born...true treasures!!

I met a blogging friend today and I'm still smiling:-) I'll be posting about it tomorrow! It was both our first time meeting a blogging friend and it truly did go well. We took pictures also:-)

Loved the jokes...I laughed out loud when I read the one about the blondes freezing to death at the Drive In movie! LOL

Glad John is well enough to be back at work, even though he may not feel quite up to par. You must spend a lot of time watering those flowers - beautiful, by the way. I chuckled much at the one-in-five Chinese joke. ec

That must have been a very boring movie!!
Your jokes ar so good, I sent a few to several in my contacts list.
Your flowers are very nice. The Cineraria is certainly bright.
I hope you are having a wonderful week Merle. I get to have time with my granddaughter and her two little ones tomorrow. Little Kenny is four and Victoria is about six months. While I'm visiting with them I will be making apple butter to can.

We got a really good rain last night and it is still raining. Yeah.
Gotta run and get ready for another Dr. appt. Oh well he keeps my engine running and that is a good thing.

Hi Merle, I love cinerarias. In New Zealand, I had the big ones...you know the real old-fashioned ones. I had all different colours and they made such a beautiful show in spring. They do grow here, but we really need the water for them to look good.

Glad John is feeling better, that flu takes a lot of getting over and it can turn to pneumonia so tell him to be careful.

Hugs xoxo

you do have a very nice garden; in Italy we say "green thumb" persons, to mean people good in growing plants and flower, i'm one of that while my sister is the opposite; every time she gets a new plant I say it's gone into the death row...
ciao from Italy

Oh Merle....all your flowers are wonderful [in your posts below], and your mother's fern?!! Unbelievable that it's still growing. Fantastic. And your new haircut is super...you look terrific! [seriously!!]

As always the jokes are super, the quotes are so worthwhile!

It's been too long since I've visited with anyone, I'm trying to catch up.

Happy day to you...or is it nighttime there? :o)
