Sure Way to a Happy Day.

Post 320 - - - - - Monday, 24th September, 2007.

Hello Everyone ~~ I hope the week has started well for you all
and that it will be a really good one. All is well here with pleasant
weather and getting a few jobs done. I am delighted that my
Broad Beans have lots of young beans on them. I have a few peas
growing as well with a few flowers on them. I will get some tomato
plants very soon, as I think the frosts have gone.

First item tonight is called "The Sure Way to a Happy Day."
The author is unknown.

Happiness is something we create in our mind.
It's not something you search for and so seldom find.

It's just waking up and beginning the day
By counting our blessings and kneeling to pray.

It is giving up thoughts that breed discontent
And accepting what comes as a "gift Heaven-sent.

It's giving up wishing for things we have not
And making the best of whatever we;ve got.

It's knowing that life is determined for us
And pursuing our tasks without fret, fume or fuss.

For it's by completing what God gives us to do
That we find contentment and happiness too.

Time for some jokes - - - -

Late one night a doctor received a telephone call from a man
who said urgently: " Doctor, my mother in law is lying at death's
door. Can you come round and pull her through ?"

Doctor : "And how are we this morning ?"
Patient : "I'm feeling better doctor, but my breathing still
troubles me."
Doctor : "We must see if we can put a stop to that."

Patient : "Doctor, you've already said the operation is very
risky. What are my chances of survival ."

Doctor : "Excellent ! The odds against success are 99 to 1,
but the surgeon who will be performing the operation on
you is looking forward to it as you will be his hundredth
patient and so you must be a success after all the others."

A young man was sitting in the cinema when a very fat lady
got up during the interval and stepped painfully on his toes
while squeezing past him into the aisle.

A short time later, the same fat lady returned, carrying an
ice cream and a large packet of popcorn.

"Did I tread on your toes, young man ?" she asked.
"I'm afraid you did. And you didn't apologize."
"Good," snapped the woman. Then this is my row."

A beautiful nineteen year old girl was asked why she
married a fat, balding sixty-three year old man who
just happened to be very wealthy and own a number
of large period houses.

"It's simple," she said, "I married him because I love
his beautiful manors."

The solicitor was reading Humphrey's will and had just
come to the last paragraph.. "I always said I'd mention
my dear wife Joan, in my will," read out the solicitor,
"So, hello there Joan !!"

Eve was so jealous of Adam that when he came home
each night, she used to count his ribs.

A few quotes to finish with - - -

Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but
you only spend it once. - - Lillian Dicksen.

We are born wet, naked and hungry. Then things get
worse. - - - Author Unknown.

Difficult times have helped me to understand better than
before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way,
and that so many things that one goes worrying about are
of no importance whatsoever.- - Isak Dinesen.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though
nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is
a miracle. - - - - Albert Einstein.

Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway. - - Steven Coallier.

Enough for tonight. Enjoy your lives and be kind to each
other. Spread some sunshine along the way. Love and
Best Wishes to you all. Cheers, Merle.

What a good way to end the day another great post by sweet tater.

I almost had to run to the bathroom when I read the man had mentioned his wife in his will. That is soooooo funny.

Glad to hear your garden is taking off. Beans and Peas. Yummy.

I usually plan Early Girls and Better Boy tomatoes because they usually do not get bugs or diseases like other tomatoes.

Best dreams. love and prayers

The moral of the story is: Be careful how you spend it.

Merle, may I offer you an interesting quotation that I encountered to? Since you haven’t responded with a “no,” here it is:

“After twelve years of therapy my psychiatrist said something that brought tears to my eyes. He said, ‘No hablo ingles.’” ~ Ronnie Shakes

Dear Merle,

A sure way to a happy day is right on!

Inspiration abounds here, that's why I love to visit you. A good way to start my Tuesday, and remember what is important in life.

Blessings and good wishes.

If you pick those broad beans, Merle, when they're still pretty "young" you will have no need to peel the other layer off the actual bean.

Just make sure you don't eat the beans or the peas straight from the plants not giving time to get them to the kitchen! lol
