The Bell.

Post 377 ~ ~ ~ Thursday, 6th December, 2007.

Hello my friends ~ ~ I hope you are all having a good week.
Mine has been busier than usual, but all is well. Today I had
a visit to my Doctor for check-up on the diabetes etc. Once
again he froze the lesion on my nose, so I hope it disappears
for good this time, or it looks like surgery will be needed.
So all well so far here.

My friend and I went shopping yesterday, and we had lunch
and a nice time getting the things we wanted. She bought
a digital camera amongst other things. Her mother turned
90 today so she was going to take photos there and on
Sunday there is a party for her. So I am looking forward to
seeing all the photos she has taken.

Tomorrow, my younger son will be 50 years old, so I hope
you have a great day, Geoff and a lovely weekend break away.
See you next weekend.

My dear friend, Barbara sent me the following in an e mail,
so I hope you will enjoy it. Thank you Barbara.

How for some jokes ~ ~ ~

A few more from my blogger friend Jim .Thanks Jim for these.

People want the front of the bus; the back of the church; and
the center of attention.

A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly,
"I know what the Bible means."
His father smiled and replied, "What do you mean ? You
know what the Bible means ?"

The son replied, "I do know !"
"OK" said the father. What does the Bible mean?
"That's easy, Daddy," the boy replied excitedly.

It stands for "Basic Information Before Leaving Earth.
<><>

Sunday after church a Mom asked her very young
daughter what the lesson was about.
The daughter answered, "Don't be scared,
you'll get your quilt."

Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day,
the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him
what that morning's Sunday school lesson was about.

He said, "Be not afraid; thy comforter is coming."

The minister was preoccupied with thoughts of how he
was going to ask the congregation to come up with
more money than they were expecting for repairs to the church.

Therefore, he was annoyed to find that the regular
organist was sick and a substitute had been
brought in at the last minute.

The substitute wanted to know what to play.
"Here's a copy of the service," he said impatiently.
"But you'll have to think of something to play after
I make the announcement about the finances."

During the service, the minister paused and said,
"Brothers and Sisters, we are in great difficulty;
the roof repairs cost twice as much as we expected
and we need $4,000 more. Any of you who can
pledge $100 or more, please stand up.

At that moment, the substitute organist played
"The Star Spangled Banner,"

And that is how the substitute became the regular organist.!!

Hi Merle I hope you are OK.
What are you talking about a lesion? You mean from sunburn?
I once had 2 warts that got frozen off by "cryotherapy"... aptly named as it really hurts! Minus 180C liquid nitrogen being sprayed all over me!!

Dear Merle,
Sorry to hear about having to have the spot on your nose looked after again, let's hope this takes care of it. Tell you son Happy Belated Birthday from the Lincoln's when you see him. I loved the one about the church organist. That's one way to do it. Ha!Ha! Have a lovely evening.
Love,
Patty

Dear Merle,

Lunch and shopping with a friend is always fun, isn't it?

I hope your son had a happy birthday!

Love the Bell.

Reasons why English is hard to understand is so true! When I first came to the US in the early 1950s, I had a difficult time with it!

Have a wonderful weekend, dear Merle.

Warmest regards,

Renie

The warts never ever came back!

I hope yours goes away for good too. Is it what they call "rodent ulcer" a v slow growing "leision"? That's meant to be relatively easy to treat. I hope they really zap it! (But without frazzling you, if you know what I mean...)

Hi Merle -- Well, I sure hope (and pray) that the lesion doesn't come back anymore. My daughter, Karen, had to have surgery for hers. It hasn't bothered any more except the scare didn't grow back real smooth.
Thank you for putting the rest of my friends e-mailed jokes on your blog.
You did nicely today, I can't see any need for an apology.
We are in Nebraska still today, but will fly back tomorrow. We sold my dad and mom's farm this morning at auction. The sale was kind to us.
Then we had lunch with Cliff Morrow who got me started in blogging. We have been here since Wednesday afternoon.
To see our snow, look at my Photo blog where I put on a short post this morning.

Cheers!

May I add it to my collection?
Thank you so much.

I'm praying for the lesion.
May our good Lord remove it completely and permanently.
He's our best healer.
Praise Him!

Please take care, my friend.

Hi Merle

Just catching up...and that's all I seem to be able to do nowadays. I just don't get the time to visit everyone any more often...sigh! Must be the time of year.

I do hope they can get shot of that lesion for you...worrying things they are.

Have a good weekend and I'll catch up again in the next few days...!

Hugs xoxo
