I'm Rich - and Awards.

Post 434 ~ ~ ~ Wednesday, 9th April, 2008.

Hi Everyone ~ ~ I hope you have all had a good day. All OK
here. I thought it was time to acknowledge the latest awards
that I have received. I appreciate these very much, even if
I may not deserve them.

You're great and I value you
The first is from my dear friend Leann, and I love it. Thank you
so much. I truly value you as well, Leann. I would like to pass
this on the following folks Ann my dear friend,
Jan another dear friend, Connie, yet another dear friend,
Renie another dear friend, and Patty who is another dear friend.

All these ladies have great blogs, which are a joy to read.

Next one is the "Ewe Rock" award from Hootin'Anni and I thank
you for this one dear Anni. Glad you think I rock !! I would like to
pass this one on to others that I think rock. First my brother Peter,
Warren, Mountain Mama, Pearl, Audrey and Gledwood. I enjoy
reading all their posts and consider they all rock!!

The last one was sent by Jim and I really appreciate this one.
Many thanks Jim. This means "Light gives of itself freely, filling
available space. It does not seek anything in return; it asks not
whether you are friend or foe. It gives of itself and is not there-
fore diminished." I think this award is to honor someone filled
and radiating with compassion, concern and good.
This award was created by Teach of Work of the Poet.
I would like to pass this one on to some very dear friends who
have wonderful blogs which I love reading. Carole, Lady Di,
Robyn, Joy, Susie, and June.

I have a nice article sent by my dear friend, Gwen. Thank
you so much Gwen. It's a nice one.

I'm Rich. . . . .

This morning I searched my wallet. It was empty.

Them I checked my pockets. I found a few coins.

I then searched my heart and found you.
Then, I realized how rich I really am.

Thanks for being my friend and e-mail buddy!

May you be as rich as I am.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass . . .

It's about learning to dance in the RAIN !!

My son, Geoff sent the first joke. Thanks Geoff.

A bloke's wife goes missing while diving off the West
Australian coast. He reports the event, searches fruitlessly
and spends a terrible night wondering what happened to her.

Next morning there is a knock at the door and he is
confronted by a couple of policemen, the old Sarge and a
younger Constable.

The Sarge says, "Mate we have some news for you,
unfortunately some really bad news, some good news and
maybe some more good news".

"Well," says the bloke, "I guess I'd better have the bad
news first ?"

The Sarge says,"I'm really sorry mate, but your wife is dead
. Young Bill here found her lying at about five fathoms in a
cleft in the reef. He got a line around her and we pulled her up,
but she was dead.

The bloke is naturally pretty distressed to hear of this and
has a bit of a turn. But after a few minutes he pulls himself
together and asks what the good news is.

The Sarge says, "Well, when we got your wife up, there were
quite a few really good sized crays and a swag of nice crabs
attached to her, so we brought you your share.

He hands the bloke a sugar bag with a couple of nice crays
and four or five crabs in it.
"Geez thanks. They're bl***y beauties. I guess it's an ill
wind and all that . . . So what's the other possible good news?"

"Well," the Sarge says, "if you fancy a quick trip, me and
young Bill here get off duty at around 11 o'clock and we're
gonna shoot over there and pull her up again."

One from my friend, Mike who is Chris B's husband.
Thanks Mike.

Two engineering students were walking through the campus
when one says to the other, "Where did you get that bike ?"

"Strange that," said his pal, "I was walking through the
woods when this girl cycled up, jumped off her bike, took
off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want," so I took
the bike."

"You probably did right," said the other. "I doubt if her
clothes would have fitted you !!!"

It was during World War 2, and the captain was attempting
to rally the GIs on the eve of a big offensive :

"Out there," said the captain, "is your enemy. The man
who has made your life miserable, who is working to destroy
you; the man who has been trying to kill you day after day
throughout the war."

Private Johnson jumped to his feet. "The cook's working
for the Germans,"
<><>

Call Boxes.

A friend of mine was visiting a college, which had those
security call boxes every few hundred feet. If you were
wandering around the campus
at night and felt uneasy
about somebody chasing you, for instance, you could hit
the button and have a security officer come investigate
immediately.

On one of these phones hung a sign that said, "Out of order."
Underneath it, someone had scrawled, "Keep running."

During a recent publicity outingm Jennifer snuck off to
visit a fortune teller of some local repute. In a dark and
hazy room, peering into a crystal ball, the mystic delivered
grave news,

"Ther'e no easy way to say this, so I'll just be blunt. Prepare
yourself to be a widow. Your husband will die a violent and
horrible death this year."

Visibly shaken, Jennifer stared at the woman's face, then
at the flickering candle, and then down at her hands, She
took a few deep breaths to compose herself. She simply had
to know. She met the fortune teller's gaze, steadied her voice
and asked, "Will I be acquitted ?"
<><>

A woman wakes during the night to find that her husband
was not in their bed. She puts on her robe and goes downstairs
to look for him. She finds him sitting at the kitchen table
with a cup of coffe in front of him. He appears deep in thought,
just staring at the wall. She watches as he wipes a tear from
his eye and takes a sip of coffee.

"What's the matter, dear ?" she whispers as she steps into the room.
"Why are you down here at this time of night ?"
The husband looks up, "Do you remember 20 years ago when we
were dating, and you were only 16?" he asks solemnly.

The wife is touched to tears thinking that her husband is so caring
and sensitive. "Yes , I do," she replies

The husband pauses. The words are not coming easily. "Do you
remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my
car making love ?"

"Yes, I remember," says his wife, lowering herself into a chair
beside him. The husband continues . . . . . .

"Do you remember when he shoved a shot- gun in my face and
said, "Either you marry my daughter, or I will send you to
jail for 20 years ?"

"I remember that too," she replies softly.
He wipes another tear from his cheek and says, "I would have
got out today."

Only one quote tonight,as my eyes are longing to close,

Your failure won't hurt you until you start blaming it on
others. ~ ~ ~ Anonymous.
<><>

Enough for tonight, Enjoy the rest of the week my friends.
Love and best wishes to you all. Cheers, Merle.

Merle - I wish everyone would learn this: Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass . . .
It's about learning to dance in the RAIN !!

Merle, you earned all of those awards.

Hi Merle, I learned a lesson that couldn't apply to me anymore. Don't date girls whose father has a shotgun!

You deserve those awards, thank you for passing mine along.

Thank you for your visit and comment. Hardly any of those people live in the RVs unless they are literally on the road. Some people on Galveston Bay live in/on their boats as well. I will not post much again before our holiday starting next Monday.

Merle ~ I had to laugh at the shot gun one. I had a neighbor across the street from us back in California who used to always say to his wife... "If I would have killed you when I first thought of it... I'd be out on parole by now!" ~ Of course we all knew he was just joking, but it sure was funny! ~ jb///

Dear Merle,

We are under severe thunderstorm warnings this morning, so I am in a bit of a hurry. Congratulations on all the beautiful awards! And thank you for passing one of them to me.

I loved, I'm Rich, and I would go dance in the rain, if it were not for the lightening! LOL.

Oi! On the story about the Bloke's wife. LOL. And Jennifer and the fortune teller was funny as well. And guys sure have a warped sense of reminiscing! I enjoyed all the jokes, and love the quote, but I'd better scurry, as I see lightening in the distance. Have a restful night and a wonderful Friday. Say a little prayer that our storms don't turn into a tornado!

Love and Blessings,

Renie
