A Cuppa With Jeanette.

Post 454 ~~ Monday, 19th May, 2008.

Hello My Friends ~~ Just a little quickie extra to
show you how lovely my dear friend Jeanette is.
She was returning from Melbourne and stayed
with her daughter Carol and family last night.
Then this morning popped in here for a lovely
chat and catch up and of course, the cuppa.
(What we call a cup of tea or even coffee, it is
still a cuppa.)

Love that happy smile, Jan.

Another nice one taken on my front porch, on her way home.

My son John went on a long Far Riders Motor-cycle ride over
the weekend so I was pleased to hear from him last night and
he called in today to see me at lunch time.

The Far Riders have to ride 1000 kilometres to go to their
meetings at various places. I was amused to learn when one
meeting was held in the hometown of one of them, he had to
ride 500 km and back again to qualify. John didn't strike
much rain, although here we have had 3 days of it. But no
one is complaining.

Guess I had better find a few jokes ~I can read the papers later

During the last war a man received his draft papers and was
told to report for a medical.

Pretending to have bad eyesight, when he was told by the
optician to read the chart, he asked,"What chart?" When
the physician held up a broom handle, the man said it was
a pencil and was declared unsuitable for the army.

That evening, he went to the cinema, but when the lights
came up he was horrified to see the optician was sitting
beside him. Leaning towards him, the man asked, "Does
this bus stop stop at Trafalgar Square?"

Heard about the new diet? You eat whatever you want,
whenever you want and as much as you want. You don't
lose any weight, but it's really easy to stick to it.

" Mummy has no idea how to raise children," said the
child to his father.
"How can you say such a thing?" replied the father.

"Well she sends me to bed at night, when I'm not
sleepy, and wakes me in the morning when I am.

Customer to man in shop: "I'd like to exchange
this diet-and-workout tape for one of self acceptance."

A ninety year old man checked into a posh hotel to
celebrate his birthday. As a surprise, some friends
sent a call girl to his room.
When he answered the door , he saw before him a
beautiful young woman. "I have a present for you."
she said.
"Really ?" replied the bewildered gent.

"I'm here to give you super sex," she whispered.
"Thanks," he said thoughtfully, "I'll take the soup."

Well that's it for today. Keep smiling and be kind
to one another. Love and Best wishes to you all.
Cheers, Merle.

Hi Merle, I believe I'd have the soup also!
You sure are not a trial to me, there must be a really lot of terms we over here use that are confusiing to you. So you are a learning experience.
Actually, we are going to a 'travel show' this morning, and on our want list are 'down under' and Machi Picchu. That is quite a difference, we will see if we come back with anything.
Cheers,
..
BTW, everyone knows a cuppa is hot drink. I don't use that but I read and hear it. Like my German, I read it some but don't speak it.

Hi Merle, how nice that you got to spend time with your friend and your son too. Your friend looks like a really fun lady.

I love all the plants you have on your porch. I don't have a place to hang plants so have them sitting all over instead.

Soup or sex. HAHAHAHA!
I just happen to be eating a bowl of soup as I read this. I guess that answers the question!
I hope you continue to have a great week Merle.
Love & Hugs

What a lovely surprise a visitor and you were able to share a cuppa. Your front porch looks like you have many, many plants. Doctor's visit went well today, they were happy to see the bruising was gone. Glad your son arrive home safely.

G'day Merle,
I was interested to read about the bike group your son has been involved with. My husband Peter loves bikes and wants to buy one but with my disapproval as they scare the daylights out of me. I have known a few people who have been killed off them and am scared. Anyway I guess that won't stop him if he has made up his mind. I hate the thought of him riding one especially in the traffic. He says he is a good rider, my response is, but that doesn't count if a car doesn't see you and hits you. So I understand you were pleased to hear from him after his trip.

Dear Merle,

Your friend Jan does have a nice smile, and I know you enjoyed sharing that cuppa with her. Glad John didn't strike too much rain while riding the motorcycle. After two months of rain and more rain, we're finally having a few beautiful, rainless days. Gave my son Greg a chance to cut a lot of grass both here and at the cabin on the river.

The man with the bad eyesight was a quick thinker, wasn't he? Haha. And the diet of eating whatever, whenever is what most people follow, isn't it? LOL.

Lots of fun and chuckles here, as always. Thank you, dear Merle. Have a wonderful week, my friend.

Love and blessings,

Renie
