Rescuing Hug.

Post 513 ~ ~ Wednesday, 24th September, 2008.

Hi Everyone ~~ I hope the week has started well for you all, as it has for me. My Home Care lady came yesterday, so things look a little better, and clean bed linen and we have had some pleasant days, that cool way down at night. It is great to look around my garden to see lots of flowers in bud, about to really make a show. I have been cooking
again today -- a huge crockpot full of Steak and kidney casserole - it tastes yummy as I had some for my evening meal. I eat my main meal in the middle of the day.

We have another Birthday girl -- Sandy at Abandoned in Pasadena. I hope you have a wonderful day on the 24th. Enjoy your special day, my friend. Please pop over to wish
Sandy a very Happy Birthday. Thank you.

The little story tonight is short but sweet. I intended to type it, but I see it has come through with the picture. I hope you can read it, and if you can't I will type it again
This was sent to me by my blogging buddy friend Linda.
Thank you so much Linda, it's a lovely story and lot of people loved it

Eighteen-year-old son : "Dad? Father: "Yes, son?"

Eighteen-year-old son : "Did you ever make love when you were my age?

Father : "Yes son. And let it be a horrible warning to you."

Eighteen -year-old son : "Why, what happened?"

Father : "I ended up marrying your mother."

A man was going away for a holiday to the West Country and mentioned the name of the place to a friend who said at once , "Oh, I have a very great friend who lives there. If you should come across her and you might easily do so, you might remember me to her."

"Certainly," was the reply, "What's her name?" "Dummock," said the other.
Now the holiday maker thought to himself, "How shall I remember that? Ah, I have it. I'll think of my stomach." (As a matter of fact he was always thinking of his stomach.) "It rhymes with Dummock so all should be OK.

He went off for his holiday and on his return ran into his friend and said at once, "I'm very sorry but I didn't see anything of friend - Miss Kelly."

A very elderly
defendant had been found guilty of an offense, and as a habitual offender, he was given
a stiff. sentence. "I'll never live to do it," said the old man,"

"Never mind," said the judge is a kindly tone, "you just do what you can."
<><>

The Hollywood film actress was getting married for the seventh time when the clergyman stumbled over the words of the ceremony.
" It's all right," hissed the actress. "Take it from the top of page five."
<><>

Woman's Revenge (Thanks to my cousin Bill for the next ones.)

"Cash, cheque or charge? " I asked after folding the item the woman wanted to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a TV in her purse.

"So do you always carry your TV remote>:

"No, " she replied, " but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him, legally."
<><>

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats and pigs, the husband ask
ed sarcastically, "Relatives if yours?"

"Yep," said the wife, " in-laws."
<><>

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day, - 30,000 to a man;s 15,000
The wife replied, "The reason for that has to be because we have to repeat everything to men."
"The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"
<><>

A man said to his wife one day, I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful at the same time."

The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me,
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you.:
<><>

A man and woman were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, "You should do it because you are up first, and then we don't have to wait so long to get our coffee. The husband said, "You are in charge of cooking around here, and you should do it because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.

Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."
Husband replies, " I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it did indeed say, HEBREWS."
<><>

Well it's time to close this post. I hope there aren't too many typos. I am tired tonight, so please excuse any you see. Take great care of yourselves and the ones you love. Make someone's day a little brighter by sharing a smile and a word or
two. Enjoy your lives and be happy. My love to you all, Cheers, Merle.

Loved the twin's story. Very heart warming.

Also like the one about the vocabulary of men and women.

Time to get out and do up the lunch dishes. Sleep well.

I loved the story of the Twins and the loving hug.. It is a known fact that babies need to be held and talked to and loved. They are so much happier and healthier.

And the wife taking the remote control shopping with her...lol.

Have a nice day and night.

Hi Merle. The rescuing hug is a beautiful story. It just makes me wonder how many times a little kindness and love can save someone who is desperately ill.
I think I should move to your neck of the woods right about now. Spring is my favorite time of year and if I could have two of them each year, how fun that would be. I bought a few packages of bulbs a few weeks ago, Daffodils and crocus, but haven't had time to plant them yet. I plan to put them in the front yard because the deer won't eat them. (I don't think)I've been painting my decks in between rain storms so all my effort has been there. I just have two coats of paint left to put on the front deck and I'll be done. Hallelujah!!! It's a hard job for me because of the back problems.
I hope you are having a great week Merle.
Love you

Dear Merle,

Steak and kidney casserole does sound yummy!

What a touching little story and picture of the Rescuing Hug! The human touch means so very much, doesn't it?

Funny story about the remote. Hebrews was funny. Haha. Actually, I enjoyed all the funnies, and am glad you are doing well and enjoying the buds and blooms of spring. Our weather is still quite summery, which is nice.

Dear Merle, for some reason, your name is not showing on my followers list. Perhaps it's an oversight. I don't know. Will you follow me, my friend? LOL.

Stay well and happy, my friend, and have a wonderful day.

Love and blessings,

Renie

Hi Merle, this is a very nice post, I really like the twins in the incubator story.
It looks like your new mouse is still running, maybe you could keep your old one on the table so the new one wouldn't get lonesome when you're not there. And the old one with the lights wouldn't feel so rejected.

I used to have a Beanie Baby Mouse to keep my mouse company at night.
It is packed away someplace now.

Thanks for the heads up on Sandy's BD, I'll go say hello. We aren't regular readers but sometimes I lurk, some times we comment.

Cheers, :-)

Hello Dear Merle. The article about the twins I have seen a few years ago when I lived in Florida and was working at an OB/GYN office. One can never tire of seeing this kind of article and picture. It is very heart-warming. I have also heard of the same between baby animals. People think animals are stupid, but they are very intelligent. Have a great week-end and take care of yourself.

Hi Merle!

I'm back! My son finally took his 2 cats back home Sunday night. I am trying to get back in the routine of blogging again. His cats required a lot of care and medications. They were both doing well when he took them. Punky's tumor is gone again! But it will return in 3-4 months. Then we will say our goodbyes to her. She is eating well again and even purring! The other one is doing much better on her heart meds.

I am enjoying all your jokes once again! I sure need a few good laughs after the past month I put in caring for his sick kitties. You bring smiles to a lot of us every day!

Hope you are doing well! I am goign to try and visit at least once a week from now on. I am still working 2 jobs, too, but I am doing my best at visiting everyone.

Have a great weekend!

(((((( HUGS ))))))

"Rescuing Hug" is so touching. It's almost the same as the miracle in the ICU whereby the brother sung to his very sick baby sister.

Our Lord's love is displayed in very beautiful ways by very special people =)
