I would like to pass this award on to three of my blogging friends --

Margaret Cloud
of Old Digger. Blogspot.

Patty Lincoln Of Old Lady Lincoln.

Robyn Lee of Puss in Boots,

All three ladies have great blogs with lots of interesting stories, jokes etc
Do pay them a visit and get to know them.

The first story tonight was sent by my friend Linda. Thank you.
Both Linda and I are Australians, but we liked this story about
President Eisenhower. I hope you enjoy.

When I was a kid, Ike was president. I couldn't ever imagine why he was
so popular. Maybe this has something to do with it:

General Eisenhower Warned Us.

It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied
Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps
he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German
people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and
even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect: "Get it on record now -
get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the road of
history some bast**d will get up and say that this never happened."

This week the UK debated whether to remo
ve "The Holocaust" from its
school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims
it never occurred. It is not removed as yet . . However this is a frightening
portent of the fear gripping the world and how easily each country is
giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended..
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain in memory of the 6 million
Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests
"who were murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on
and humiliated" while the German people looked the other way.

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming The Holocaust to
be 'a myth', it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the
memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center
'NEVER HAPPENED' because it offends some Muslim in the U.S. ???

FREEDOM ISN'T FREE ...SOMEONE Had TO PAY FOR IT !!!!

The Sensitive Man. Thanks to whoever sent this one.

A woman meets a man in a bar. They talk, they connect; they end up
leaving together. They go back to his place, and as he shows her around
his apartment. She notices one wall of his bedroom is completely filled with
soft cuddly teddy bears. There are3 shelves with hundreds & hundreds
of cute cuddly teddy bears carefully placed in rows.

It was quite obvious that he had taken quite some time to lovingly arrange
them and she was immediately touched by the amount of thought he had
put into arranging the display There were small bears all along the bottom
shelf. Medium sized bears covering the length of the middle shelf and huge,
enormous Bears on the top shelf.

She found it strange for an obviously masculine guy to have such a large
collection of teddy bears. She is quite impressed by his sensitive side
but does not mention this to him.

They share a bottle of wine and continue talking. After a while, she finds
herself thinking, "Oh my God, Maybe this guy could be the one."
Maybe he could be the father of my children?" She turns to him and
kisses him lightly on the lips.

He responds warmly. They continue to kiss, the passion builds, and he
romantically lifts her in his arms and carries her into his bedroom, where
they rip off each other's clothes and make hot steamy love. She is so
overwhelmed that she responds with more passion, more creativity, more
heat than she has ever known.

After an intensive, explosive night of raw passion with this sensitive guy,
the are just lying there together in the after-glow. After a while, the
woman rolls over, gently strokes his hairy chest, then softly asks "Well,
how was it for you?"

The guy gently smiles at her ad strokes her cheek, looks deeply into her
eyes and says, "Help yourself to any prize from the middle shelf !!!!
<><>

Well folks it is getting late so I will finish this off now. Take good care
of yourselves and your loved ones. Love and best wishes to you all.
Cheers, Merle.

Hello Merle,

I hope all is well in your little corner of the world. We are experiencing rain in mine today.

I enjoyed the "Scenario" bit. It would be funny if there weren't so much truth in it.

I knew if I misbehaved in school, not only would I have to answer the teacher, but when I got home I would have to answer to my Mother. And I never wanted to upset my Mother, 'cause if Mama's not happy, nooo body's happy! ; )

Have a wonderful week-end.

Ann

Love your 35 answers Merle. Some of mine would be the same.

Have to say I haven't heard of any debate about the Holocaust being removed form the National Curriculum in the UK. There seem to be rumours circulating which have no basis at all. The Holocaust Educational Trust here has put out a denial about it.

Teaching of the Holocaust is compulsory in all UK secondary schools between the ages of 11 and 14 and will be for the for-seeable future under this government.

The British Government also sponsors two students (16–18 year olds) per secondary school/
further education college to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau through the Holocaust Educational
Trust’s Lessons from Auschwitz Project. The money has come from a £1.5 million grant every year from 2006 and will continue to 2011.

Don't think it would ever be allowed to come off the curriculum,. If it offends anyone, tough luck!

You are so welcome Merle...you are very deserving my friend. I'm still trying to figure out how to put that award on my side bar. I think I need some kind of a code to enter into Typepad, but I can't seem to find one. I've tried to just copy and paste the picture, but that doesn't seem to work. I guess I won't worry about it.

I hope you're having a nice weekend sweet friend. It's still pretty cold here...30's, but the snow has been melting; so that's a good thing. I hope you've been feeling well sweetie...take care. Love, Joy

Dear Merle, thanks for the award, will try to get it posted soon. I also copied the Ike story and sent to all the people on my e-mail list, except for you, since you had already received it once. Temp says it's still 47 F outside, which is a lot warmer than what we've been having but the house feels just as cold as if it were 15 F out there. Have a wonderful Sunday and try to keep cool. Good night, Patty

Hi Merle, no wonder we have trouble with the kids today! They have it soooooo much tougher with the authorities than we did 'back then'. [I shot a pistol for the first time out back of the school house during a school play. A bunch of us not in the current act went out and shot it.]
[I had my first taste of whiskey at high school prom. It got taken away.]
[The Town Marshall didn't even call my parents when I had a little 'mishap' with my truck and a pile of dirt dug out for some street repair and construction.]
[We didn't even have an 'A school'.]

I liked your Thursday trial scene with Satan and Christ as the attoneys. A blonde joke I missed below too, about the blondes on the upper deck. Every now and then I do a search for 'blonde' on your page.

Your meme and award are neat.
Cheers,
..

Food for thought in this post, Merle! Ken always likes to tell people about the time when he was a kid, and with his sling shot, he accidentally fired a marble through the window of a neighbour's house. The police came around to ask if he knew anything about it, and he admitted to doing it. They took him to the local copshop and held him in a cell until his Mum got home from work. When she brought him home, his Dad gave him a belting for breaking the window. Can you imagine this happening these days with a 12 year old kid???
