An enforced holiday.

Hi to all, although this post will be signed by Merle its actually her little brother Peter here, Merle rang me in a bit of a tizz as she had been without a phone for 3 days and is STILL without her internet connection, her world is imploding on her!!!!

Until something like this happens we just don't realize how much we rely on the computer and the internet, I'm the same when for whatever reason I can't use the net, or worse still the computer.

She has asked me to explain her absence and why you haven't had comments from her, her health isn't too bad... apart from the dementia that is!!! these older people can be a bit of a worry sometimes.

In the very best tradition of my sister here is a parting joke.

A Popular President.

A man, on his way home from work, came to a dead halt in traffic and thought to himself, "Wow, this traffic seems worse than usual. Nothing is even moving."

He notices a police officer walking back and forth between the lines of cars, so he rolls down his window and asks, "Officer what's the hold up?"

The officer replies, "President Bush is just so depressed about the thought of not contesting the next election that he stopped his motorcade in the middle of the freeway and he's threatening to douse himself in petrol and set himself on fire. He says his family hates him and he doesn't have the money to pay for the new house renovations. We're taking up a collection for him."

"Oh really? How much have you got so far?"

"About one hundred gallons, but a lot of people are still siphoning."

Hi Peter and I hope the connexions get up and running again, Merle...

... you haven't been illegally downloading Bananarama tracks again, have you??!?

I saw a Panorama documentary on BBC about the British govt's proposals to slow down or even disconnect people for pruloining free songs online... shouldn't bee too long before such an idea will spread Down Under as well...

I hope Merle's internet gets better soon. I like her jokes better (JUST KIDDING, just kidding).

I did read just now the one about the cuckoo clock. Have to remember that one.

Gas is too expensive to waste on an ex-president.

What's your name again? Who are you???

I know exactly how Merle feels, Peter...I go rank if anything happens to my computer. It's like losing both arms and my number one best friend all at once!! Let's hope Merle's computer is up and running again very soon.

The Bush joke was a favorite of mine, being Californian after Australia told me the last thing the country needed was another lawyer. Pity, I love lawn bowing and miss the billy.

Sorry to hear she's having problems with her phone line. That can be a real pain in the butt. But what can we do? Our TV cable, internet connection and our phones are all from the same company, so usually if one goes down, everything goes. Then I have to go get my cell phone from the car, I keep for emergencies, and call the company to find out what's going on.

Love the joke. I think probably a lot of people were thinking that when he was in office. Now they have another poor man to heckle and poke jokes at. They don't even seem to want to give the new president a chance to show what he can do, there have been so many against him from the start. But let's face it, Bush Junior did seem a little dense more than once while in office. And so much of what they are blaming the new president for is stuff Bush left behind. I hate to think what might have happened if Palin was in the white house, she would probably be walking around carrying a machine gun with her and using it to get her way. LOL

I didn't know you were having problems, because for the past week or so, I haven't been getting around to the blogs I like to check. Have been very busy and this past week Abe had three doctor appointments which I either had to drive him to, or ride along with him. That takes time out of the day that you normally can use for something else. More later.
